Let me tell you a story! December 2024 -- I had my maternity shoot scheduled in Anaheim Hills and was scrambling to book hair and makeup nearby. I booked Drybar for my blowout n' styling (big mistake ) and BlowOut Parlor for makeup. I got my hair done that morning and specifically mentioned that my hair does NOT hold curls well. I was hoping they'd at least last long enough to give beach wave vibes for my evening photoshoot... nope. Not even two hours later, all the curls had completely fallen out and my hair was straight. Thank God for BlowOut Parlor. I had my makeup appointment about an hour before the shoot, and while I was there I vented about my hair disaster. Even though the salon was PACKED -- every chair occupied and every stylist busy -- they were so understanding and somehow found the time to fix my hair. Completely saved the day and my maternity photos. This week, I went back in for a little self-care and once again they did not disappoint. Horrible experience! I had a terrible experience at this salon. I was assigned an unknown makeup artist after confirming multiple times that my glam would be done by Mehak. The lady who I thought was the receptionist, didn't introduce herself, rushed me into a chair and started working on my hair, I asked for a simple up do - she didn't bother brushing my hair, picked up the curling iron and directly applied heat to my hair- no prep at all! The finished looked was so frizzy, my hair looked like a birds nest. She then rushed me to the makeup chair- I asked her where mehak was and she shrugged and said I think she got married last night so she isn't on schedule (uhhh???? Third red flag!) I had no choice but to trust this unknown lady for my makeup- I specifically asked for the easiest soft glam look and showed her several inspirational pictures for a subtle, natural style. Instead, she gave me bold purple and gold eyeshadow, It was giving bulky jersey shore, 2009 makeup glam. My 6 year old could've done better. On top of that, she didn't bother to prep my skin properly or match the foundation to my skin tone, leaving me with a mismatched, cakey finish with a gray hue. I became so anxious that I had to stop her halfway through, and ultimately, I ended up doing my own makeup at home. I left in tears! This caused me to be late to my own baby shower, which was incredibly frustrating. I won't be returning or recommending this place to anyone. read more

I called 6-8 weeks in advance to make an appointment for my daughter and I to have our make up and hair done for a close family wedding. I was told they were closed on Mondays but will have someone to assist us since we were part of the bridal party. I thought that was very nice of them. Event was at night so I requested appointment for 2 pm so I can be done by 4 pm. 2 days before the event, I was asked to come in earlier at 12 to which I agreed. Then the day before the reception I was asked to come in at 10 am because there was no one available for us. I was furious because it was not possible to come in that early. I had to cancel the appointments. If you aren't open that day then just say NO from the beginning so I can find someone else. With 1 days notice, we had no where to go as no one was available on such short notice. I will never go there again. What salon closes on a weekday?? I needed my hair and makeup done for my sister's wedding. And this place you can do both in one place, which is hard to find. In addition, they also can do hair for your daughters. So I booked hair and makeup for myself and hair for my daughter. So convenient to be able to do it all in one place. Kathy did my hair and Sheeza did my makeup. While Alicia did my daughter's hair. Another great thing about this place, there are multiple women here that can assist lots of clients. So my daughter and I were done in an hour and half, which saved us lots of time. I went through chemo and taking meds that's causing hair thinning. Kathy did a great job to curl and hide the bald areas. Sheeza did an amazing job with my makeup. It was beautiful and natural. I loved that Alicia was doing a great job caring and entertaining my 7-year old. It was my daughter's first time at a salon and she absolutely loved it! My daughter's hair looked so beautiful! I highly recommend this place! I plan to come back again with my daughter for some Mommy and Daughter pampering time. Or for our next event. One lady showed up an hr late. rushed through both services in under and hr.(she had her next client there complaining) My mother asked for straight hair the lady gave her waves with no product to ensure the hold. within an hr of the service her hair was flat and stringy. she also parted her hair down the middle which my Mother asked her not to do. As for the makeup. my Mother is very fair. I asked for naturals and natural to her skin tone. She was given dark brown eyeshadow and red-orange lips. My Mother cried any time she sees the photos about how terrible she looks. I was given 20% off before the service for only one stylist showing up and her being an hour late. I have worked with Carolina for the last few months and I have to say that she is one of the best hairstylists. She is so quick at efficient and I'm usually out of there within 45 minutes. She is very relaxed and very nice and very easy to work with. I also really like that she works with the texture and type of your hair and my hair stays fresh and the curls stay for almost 4 or five days after. Which is usually never the case with my hair so I don't know what magic she does, but the curls actually stay in my hair when she does my hair! Cannot recommend her enough! read more

My mom and I love our Christmas Eve hairstyles. I was able to make an appointment through Yelp (really quick response from the shop owner, which I appreciated) about two weeks before Christmas Eve, when we wanted to get our hair blown out and styled for the night's festivities. My mom and I had different stylists but we both essentially wanted just loose waves. Each of our stylists were very friendly, efficient, and mindful of the styles we showed them through various photos. The washing was relaxing--the best part, of course! And I was completely dried and styled within 20 minutes. Getting in on a holiday and getting out so quickly was awesome. I also got to take home a free lip liner thanks to their Yelp check-in offer. I have been to the Blowout Parlor for blowouts before and they are amazing. Everyone is super sweet and it is such a comfortable and peaceful experience. I decided to come for color because I trusted the salon. I was paired with Amalia, who is wonderful. I was in the salon for three hours and we chatted the whole time and she was very sweet. This is why I am sad to be writing this review, because I think she is great at what she does, and I may have been the 1 in 100 who wasn't satisfied with their color. I came in for a partial highlight and showed her some pictures of what I was looking for. We even scrolled through Pinterest together and I was able to show her what I did and didn't like. I emphasized that I wanted subtle honey highlights with some face framing brightness. I am attaching some photos from Pinterest that we looked at. I walked away completely blonde in the front and I was devastated. There was an entire thick portion of the front of my hair that was blonde (see photos). I love my hair color and was just looking for a few lighter highlights for depth. I couldn't look at myself without crying , which is dramatic I won't deny it, but it was just so far from what I wanted, and I felt like my hair had been ruined since it was bleached. It's shocking to see your hair a different color around your face. Instead of highlights, it was more like thick chunks of my hair were dyed blonde. There is a photo below. I came back the next day to get that thick front piece back to my normal color, and Amalia was able to do it for free, but when I left it was still too light, and almost brassy in color. She said it would require another session to fully get it back to the base color. Unfortunately, I was a little too scared to go back a third time, so I went to a different salon to get it dyed back to my natural brown, and add a few light pieces. I am not happy about paying two salons, but at that point, I was ready to pay any price to feel like myself. All in all, I know she can do great work, and has 5-star reviews, this is just my personal experience. Horrible experience. Booked an appointment about a week in advance. The night before I signed into my account to confirm the time and could see my 2:00 appointment. I went in, waited 10 minutes to talk to someone who acted like I was checked in. Waited another 5 minutes only to be told my appointment was gone. There was a huge wedding party taking up the entire waiting area, including duffle bags etc. on all the seating.m. I would assume the salon cancelled my appointment to better accommodate the large group. The last girl I talked to was extremely rude, didn't offer me a better time and when I went back in to see about getting another time, she was talking about me to the entire salon. This review is STRICTLY related to the professionalism of this business: I made an appointment for a blowout at the Costa Mesa location for a wedding. The day before, I received a phone call informing me that the Costa Mesa location was going to be closed. OK? I was offered the option of changing to the Anaheim Hills location, which was really inconvenient for me based on other appointments I had already set up but at the last minute, what choice did I have? I booked an earlier appointment than I would've liked to make sure I could get to my other appointments in Costa Mesa. Then, when I went to pay, the prices had apparently gone up the night before. It's not about the extra $5-10, it's really about the fact that I booked, under a certain assumption and then you changed it without informing me. Wouldn't it have been appropriate to honor the price I booked at? And change price for all future reservations? So, on top of the hassle of having to go get my hair done earlier (had to leave my hair in tight curls so it wouldn't fall out completely before the wedding 6 hours later so I don't actually know how it'll look by the time of the wedding), I had to put up with the inconvenience of having to drive in the complete opposite direction and a price increase! In reality, not only should the price I booked at have been honored, but you should've actually given me a discount or some additional service to compensate for the major inconvenience this business's lack of professionalism cost me! The girls were all friendly and kind and this review is not at all a reflection of their skill or professionalism. The owner/manager, however, sucks. For my scheduled trim, I had the stylist named Alicia, and after the in-depth massage I received while being shampooed and conditioned, I practically jumped on the $15 tea tree scalp exfoliating scrub. When I tell you Alicia has magic hands, she is not afraid to SCRUB the follicles and she deserves a masseuse license, she is soooo good!! I came in on a Sunday for a blowout w/ clip in extensions (which is an extra $10) for a big party and Lucy was so friendly and amazing from the beginning until the end! 5 hours in the salon. The salon was out of the colors needed for the color I wanted but thought putting rose gold with highlights would be good. Manager complained the whole time and was very negative. At the end the person doing my hair was asking other people in the salon how to curl my hair while she was doing my hair.
