I'm a little sad that something like this isn't in my backyard. The waitstaff was prompt and kind. The owners made it over to the table as well and they were so insanely nice. The salt and pepper chicken wings had an amazing crust to the skin and the chicken was moist and juicy. The drinks were great and a round of shots for the table didn't hurt! The sushi was fresh and almost melted in your mouth. I will definitely have a more sushi based meal when I go back. I hate green beans but I have to admit their spicy green beans were good (don't tell anyone I admitted that)! Went here for lunch with a friend of mine. A few things: 1) This place is very clean. We both commented on how clean and nice it looked within a few minutes of sitting down. Not bad for a sushi place at all, as some of them can get extremely grimy. 2) Sushi quality was through the roof! The rolls melt in your mouth, and the sashimi was fantastic. 3) The only con is this: if you're in a roll mood, don't go for the Sushi Deluxe. I ordered it but it was mostly sashimi (which was excellent!), and the only "meat" in the rolls is cheap crab meat. 4) Service was great, no complaints there at all. It's a small place, so your server is always close. QUICK TIP FOR A FREE APP: check in on your Yelp app, show your server, and he or she will bring over a free "crab chip" appetizer. Don't be disguised by the exterior, which used to house a KFC many years ago... it may still have that look to it on the outside but once you step inside you will be greeted by fresh white tablecloths, funky blue lighting and modern touches. Blu Karma has a large menu offering many different types of Asian cuisine. From oysters (1$ on Sundays!) to sushi, fresh dishes from the wok, and a variety of signature recipes, you will not leave disappointed. The prices are more than reasonable. They also tailor any dish to your liking (I prefer things on the spicier side, and they have delivered when I have asked!) It's clear that the owners take a lot of pride in their restaurant. Here are the only negatives: Small parking lot (Although you can park across the street at Walgreens and make a mad dash across the busy street during busy times), somewhat small seating options (We were jam packed at what seemed like a table for four but was actually two table for 2's and I couldn't help but be part of a dinner discussion next door on a busy Saturday). Definitely try some of our favorites: Hunan Style Chicken from the wok, Beef Teriyaki appetizer (So tender and medium rare to perfection, unlike any I've ever had before, and a delicious marinade), House Fried Rice, and the mango chicken dish, which is unbelievable. We had avoided trying this place since the thai restaurant here before was so lackluster, but since our first time eating here, we have not been able to stay away. Once upon a time, this building was a KFC and MVP sports (where Walgreens is now) sat across the street-flash forward in your DeLorean and in 2016 there is a Excellent Asian restaurant right off of 128/near the Liberty Tree in a building that many moons ago offered really bad for you fried chicken. We went for the first time and was impressed. Nice server, attentive manager, clean nicely decorated establishment. For food we tried the sampler appetizer, the crab chips, 3 different maki rolls, the pad Thai and pineapple fried rice. All were made to order and delicious. The food was fresh and well prepared. The only sushi that we've had better was in San Diego. The pad Thai was the best I've had. And we loved the presentation on all of our food. Would absolutely recommend and will return. read more

Decent sushi in a small town. Don't go too lavish on the sashimi or the daily specials or you may cry a little when the bill comes. The parking lot is super tiny so beware. I came here after work on Thursday around 6pm. It seems to be at a random location for a restaurant but I'm from out of town so maybe it's just me. The dining room was mostly empty but was almost full when I left. Some of the customers seem to be regulars so that's a good sign. I have mixed feelings about the food. Some are excellent some are just meh. So let's start with the good. I had the daily special aji sashimi. At $10 for 3 small pieces, this is slightly on the pricier side but it was delicious. The lobster maki was good. Because of its size, it was barely holding together. I also got the spring rolls which seemed like very generic spring rolls. They are very crispy, but that's about it. The description said shitake mushrooms in the spring rolls but I didn't see any (and I looked hard). For dessert, I ordered the mochis. I love icecream mochis and these mochis are good. The strawberry is definitely the best. However, the plate was covered with whip cream and chocolate sauce which in my opinion is really not necessary. I ate around it. Besides the daily special sashimi, the price is comparable to other sushi places I've been to around the country. The staff is really friendly. I did feel like I was getting too much attention, which is something I've never experienced at a restaurant, and it's not as pleasant as you may think it is. I was being asked every 2 minutes by different people on if I was ready to order until I ordered, the first time right after I sat down and just took off my jacket. I couldn't tell if they were doing that because the dining room was fairly empty when I first arrived or because I was dining by myself. Still my favorite sushi place on the North Shore, possibly in the state! Great service, great food, cute decor inside. Hard to believe it was ever anything but a sushi place. It is small though, so it can get busy fast. But it's worth the wait if there is one. A couple of my favorite rolls are: Lady In Red - It's a spicy tuna roll, with tuna, eel & tobiko on top. Make sure to dip it in the sauce on the side of the plate, it's some kind of sriracha like drizzle, delicious. Torch White Tuna - White tuna roll, that has torched white tuna on top, with a jalapeno & wasabi tobiko. It's amazing. They also make great entrees, if sushi isn't your thing. They make a filet mignon stir fry, that has rice, asparagus, zucchini & other veggies. The meat is melt in your mouth tender. The spicy edamame is excellent, hot & sour soup is great. Went a few weeks back and was just really disappointed overall. Saw the photos/reviews and thought it would be a great place to try to get my sushi fix but it was just bad. I don't normally even write reviews but we literally made a reservation and then had to wait 20 min for a table they seemingly took out from the back (most likely putting them over their max covid occupancy). Then we waited like 20 min before we could order drinks and same for the food after that. I'd love to say the food made up for it but to be honest it did not seem fresh and I think you can get a lot more for your money elsewhere. Frankly, it seemed they were focusing more on takeout orders than people in their actual restaurant. A friend and I came for dinner, we ordered the veggie fried rice, crazy maki, dragon maki, Uni and vegetable pot stickers... I'm pescatarian and DO NOT eat meat... but our server had brought us pork pot stickers and said "veggie dumplings" I ate one and noticed 1. It was cold, and more importantly 2. It was fucking PORK. I didnt freak out I just questioned it out of disbelief and asked her to take them away.. the sushi was delicious but I cant give you my opinion on the rice because It came late and late. I come here for lunch sometimes during the week. I work close by and I get tired of the usual places on Endicott St. This place is super clean! The service is friendly and very efficient. The customers pile in sometimes so when I'm on my lunch break, I'll just grab my bill right after I get my food to ensure I'm on my way to work on time. The menu is great and the sushi lunch specials are so cheap and delicious. You know how most places will give you a choice between like a California roll and then a cat food/spicy tuna type roll for a lunch special? Not here! You can pick two or three legit rolls and not spend over $13. It also comes with the most phenomenal miso soup and a yummy salad. I plan on checking this place out for dinner very soon! read more

Every food item we tried was delicious. The Sichuan hot and sour soup was by far the best I have ever had, good spice, nice garlic flavor, and lots of tender and yummy tofu, black ear fungus, bamboo shoots and scallions. Tiger maki roll was amazing tasting and beautiful too, almost a shame to eat it....almost :) Lo mein was a massive portion and was yummy! Tender yet firm noodles, good veggies and chicken. We live in the providence area. Stumbled upon Blu Karma by chance. We were at a car dealership nearby and the wife wanted sushi before we head back. We were so impressed. Every single item we would keep saying, wow this is so good!! Two days later the car dealership accepts our offer and I think we were more excited that we get to drive an hour and a half north to dine at Blu Karma again!!! The hostess and owner both noticed my wife (she is very attractive) saying you guys were in here Sunday right? Tina and Katie both came over and had a conversation with us. My husband and I decided to stop in based on the 5-star reviews this place had - he convinced me on this alone, as every time I drove by it the parking lot was empty. We started off with some spicy tuna that had panko crumbs in the middle - a brilliant addition that make this the best thing we had all evening. For dinner, we ordered tangerine crispy beef, which is supposed to be spicy but was not - but was definitely crispy, and the sauce was excellent. It was also the only other thing we had worth writing about. The pork fried rice was like any you might find in a Chinese restaurant, as was The Sampler - fried shrimp (panko crusting was a nice touch, however); chicken/beef terriyaki on a skewer (chicken was dry); tiny pot stickers that were very doughy; boneless spare ribs; spring rolls that had an odd selection of vegetables. My main issue with the restaurant was the service. It was terrible. In a restaurant with less than 10 tables, the service should have been a lot better than it was. After being presented with menus, nobody came over to ask if we wanted drinks. In fact, nobody came over at all until we had closed the menus and were ready to place our entire order - soup to nuts. To be fair, it was busy; however, several tables were seated after us (both of them were larger parties, as well), and they both had food and drinks before we did. Our server never came out to check on us, and once our food was on the table, we didn't see him again until he came out to clear the dishes. I can stand service like this when the food is outstanding - but this food is like any other Chinese restaurant food, and for that I cannot fathom a 5 star rating. read more

What on earth happened to this place? They must have new owners. I only ever had take out and haven't ordered out from here in about 6 months. It was expensive but everything used to be amazing. Friday night was a major disappointment, especially for what you pay. The food used to be so fresh that I didn't mind paying a couple of dollars to add extra veggies on here and there. What I got on Friday was barely edible - it reminded me of a frozen TV dinner. They used to give you chicken breast and large shrimp in the entrees but this time I got chicken with pieces of cartilage in it and the kind of tiny shrimp you'd get in the TV dinners. The veggies seemed like they were about to turn but getting used up and everything tasted oily. The reason I like Thai food is because it's usually lighter than Chinese food but this was not the case on Friday. I was so disappointed to waste $100 on the food that I did. They have to have changed hands in the past 6 months because the quality went down from being one of the best around to one of the worst. I understand maybe making some small cut backs but don't cut quality for quantity. I'd rather have a smaller portion size of what they used to serve. I'm grateful I didn't get the sushi this time.
