We went here for lunch this time and opted for their lunch special. We both ordered different versions of chicken (mine was spicy and my husband's was super spicy) . It comes with white rice (I had General Gao chicken and the other was Gung Bao chicken with peanuts .they have a robot walking around as well. They are pretty attentive regardless.

I had come here when they initially opened over two years ago and didn't recall any of their meals being memorable. I mostly came because I had a gift certificate for my birthday. Coming on a Saturday around 1 PM, there were plenty of seats to pick from. Eating by myself, I ordered their 435 Paradise Road, Steamed juicy buns with pork, Spicy Tuna Tartare, and Grilled Shrimp with Cold Noodle Salad. I loved the presentation of the drink since it had the dehydrated lime and ginger slices served over the top with a sprig of cilantro. The presentation across the board was phenomenal especially for the tuna tartar that had the spicy mayo and eel sauce drizzled across. The bits of tempura kept the texture interesting along with the bed of shredded daikon. Pork buns were deliciously juicy and paired with the soy sauce/vinegar mixture which enhances the flavors even more. The cold noodles were my least favorite dish as I ended up adding some of the bun sauce to make it more flavorful. Shrimps were plump and had a thin crispy layer on them. Overall, I had a wonderful experience. My waiter was incredibly attentive cleaning up my table as I cleared the plates. Ambience is beautiful and relaxing. I appreciated how the menu specified whether dishes were Japanese or Shanghai style. I will now be getting my gift certificates for my friends the next time I go back!

So amazing food was so fresh totally recommend it . prices are very reasonable .the service was excellent . The ambiance was amazing Perfect for a family gathering or date night

Avocado salad, infused with julienned lettuce n vegetables. Perfection , an explosion of delicate deliciousness .

Nothing felt gimmicky, everything was thoughtfully prepared. The ambiance is outstanding. Walking in, it felt like one of the better spots I've dined in Boston proper or New York. The space has real character. Our server Lou was exceptional. First-timers at a tapas-style restaurant, and he made sure we understood the portions, guided us through choices we weren't sure about, and kept us from over-ordering. That level of attentiveness makes a difference. The food was outstanding. The broccoli alone (yes, broccoli) was a standout. The ahi tuna and rice cake were equally impressive. My martini was perfectly executed. The owner came by, introduced himself, and actually spent time with each table. That kind of engagement from ownership tells you everything about the place's standards. I'm already planning my return to work through the rest of the menu. Whether it's a full dinner or just drinks and a snack, Njord Haven is worth the trip.

The delish cocktail less (which are NOT cheap) have almost no alcohol. I'm not a big drinker, but typically one will suffice. Two is a big night out. When I have three cocktails and almost no buzz, that makes you feel robbed. Who wants to feel ripped off? Several of my friends feel the same way and do not frequent for the same reason. I do hope the lovely owner does the right thing.

The service was great and our server was amazing. The ambiance was a little bar feeling with lots of wood tables which I liked. Now let's get to the food.. Pork buns: the pork was cooked perfectly and the bun was nice and soft. The sauce went well everything and it's a great starter dish. Spicy Kimchi Ramen- this consists of pork belly, pickled mushrooms, kimchi and fried garlic. The ramen was really good and had a lot of flavor with just the right amount of spice from the kimchi. Perfect for a cold day! Colonel Sanders Ramen- this had a pork broth with fried chicken and was delicious and moist. Also had corn with Vermont butter which you can taste through the bowl. This dish was the highlight for me and I'll definitely be back again. If you're in Salem, MA and are craving ramen then be sure to give this place a try.

However, the food itself wasn't spectacularly special for me to grant the fifth star. There was a good amount of fat on the pork belly, and I wasn't really a fan of the wavy noodles. It's like cheap noodles in what should be a premium dish. The flavored sodas (N/A alternatives) were a great find and a decent value on the menu. Service was friendly and quick, we stopped by with no reservations on a weekday and got seated. All in all, would be back for appetizers.

Food usually comes out pretty quick and they have lunch specials during the week. Everything I I've had has been really good and I think this has become my go to for Thai food. The reason they lost one star is two part - I don't think their drink prices are as good a value as compared to other options and second, last time we went there were a couple of sub-par chicken pieces in my pad Thai. It hasn't happens any of the other times so I'm not going to fault them terribly for it but will update if it happens again. They're pretty consistent with everything and the service is very friendly here. Definitely recommend this place.

We made reservations just in case online but found that wasn't necessary since there were plenty of tables open. I got to try some of my sister's pad thai basil chicken which was in fact, my favorite that I've had from any place. It was perfectly sweet, spicy, and salty. I liked my Indo fried rice but also felt liked it could have benefited from more of a kick. My mom enjoyed her broccoli Mushrooms beef which could have been better if the sauce was thicker but otherwise the taste was good! To end the meal, we split their Mango Sticky Rice which was the perfect amount of sweetness with some very ripe manngo. Overall, we had a great experience! The staff were beyond kind and more than happy to help. I loved the interior design as well as all the colors and textures which felt very intentional. It's great for either casual or slightly more dressy. Prices are also great for the portions provided. Cannot wait to come again!

The food is spicy, delicious, and flavorful every time. Everything is fantastic and I've yet to taste a dish that I wouldn't get again. Things I've gotten: -Larb - quintessential, can't go wrong. -Thai Saap Pork Ribs Soup: SO GOOD. Sour and spicy (you can adjust the heat). It was perfect during the cold winter. The ribs were very tender and the broth was full of flavor. -Pad Thai - again, can't go wrong. -Wonton Soup - some of the best I've had. The broth was deliciously savory and so much tastier than the bland versions you get from most Chinese places. -Pad See Ew - also fantastic. -Rad Nah - appreciated that they packed the noodles separately so I could assemble the dish fresh. No soggy noodles. -Ka Prow Crispy Pork - by the time I got it home, it wasn't very crispy anymore but it didn't matter because the flavor was fantastic. -Crispy Chicken Basil - same thing, not too crispy but still delicious. Restaurant decor looks comfortable and there are a decent amount of tables inside. I haven't made the effort to eat onsite yet, but looking forward to doing that at some point because I definitely want to try their whole fish. It looks amazing! It's not authentic Japanese, it's an interpretation of Japanese by Chinese workers and Cooks. Also, Chinese service isn't great and the waiter here isn't attentive and a bit too casual for my taste. The food itself is just acceptable, and for the price not great. The atmosphere also still is pretty weak, and the restaurant is small. It's sort of almost like a hole on the wall. On the West Coast, I've eaten at over 30 authentic Japanese restaurants, and for those of you who aren't Japanese restaurant or sushi aficionados... This food is probably fine.
