My husband and I were traveling through and did a search for local restaurants on Yelp. We were looking for something local and we found this gem! Jacob (I think that was his name??) was our server, he was super nice and knowledgeable about the menu and area. Another gal that worked there was very nice and chatty, it was fun talking to locals about the place/area. My husband and I ordered the mushroom and swiss burger with fries to split. They brought it out on two plates, already split-I loved that! The fries were hot and delish. The burger was as one of the best I have had, cooked to perfection and super juicy. It's a fun stop, shopping, great food and are known for their giant cookies so try to work that in as well. read more

04/16/26 Delicious cookies and friendly employees. We were greeted with a smile and friendly conversation. I was disappointed there were not more flavor choices, however the four that were available were delicious. Our favorite was the Chocolate Parfait. It looked liked a scoop of ice cream which intrigued me even more. We went right outside and ate two of the cookies right away. We broke the Chocolate Parfait in half and the chocolate was ooey gooey perfection. My husband loved it so much, we went back inside and bought the last one. We were so full after just two cookies that we took the others with us. We saved the Chocolate Parfait for the next day and unfortunately it wasn't the same as eating it right at the time of purchase. The other three cookies I think would taste just as good a day or less later, but don't wait to eat the Chocolate Parfait cookie. The magic in this cookie is immediate consumption. read more

This is my first stop to Jacob's lake Inn restaurant. I've heard about these cookies from family members who've been here before. They have quite a selection of cookies. My husband had the peanut butter cookie and he thought it was really pretty good. I had the raspberry lemon cookie and felt it was a little bit dry. There were lots of snacks and I don't think the restaurant was open that day. This is a good spot to stop at if you are coming off the north rim and are looking for some thing to eat. Embarking on an adventure at the North Rim of the Grand Canyon, I needed accommodation for a morning mule ride. Upon arrival at the inn, the entrance was bustling and somewhat disorganized, with guests purchasing cookies, store items, and ice cream. To check in, one had to navigate to the far left through the crowd, which was challenging due to the lines crisscrossing in every direction. However, once the more assertive guests had their needs met, I found the process straightforward. After an easy check-in, I grabbed some cookies before heading to my cabin, indulging in two of them en route to the restaurant. The S'mores and Snickerdoodle were exceptional, especially the S'mores. During our 9-day trip around the Grand Canyon, we had breakfast at a lot of different places. This was one of the two best that we visited. My wife had the Fry Two egg meal, and I had the Breakfast Burrito. We both thought they were very good. Breakfast is one of those meals that is pretty basic, and hard to make exceptional. But what pushed this one to the top, was the homemade sweet roll (cinnamon roll). We had one at a little family restaurant in Williams, AZ early in our trip, that was arguably the best either of us had ever had. But this one at Jacob Lake was maybe just a tad better. Highly recommend stopping here for breakfast on your way out of the North Rim. And if you do, don't forget to get a sweet roll as a breakfast appetizer. read more

Food is good, not terrible, not incredible. We were only able to try the breakfast, and lunch menu as our eating schedule was not the same as theirs. I had the Grand bull sandwich, the hamburger, southwest eggs, and biscuit and gravy. The grand bull (while a pretty good burger) the bread it is made with caused it to fall apart after 2 bites, and had to be eaten with utensils. the hamburger was basically the same on a "homemade" roll. it did not come with anything like mayo, ketchup, or mustard and you will need to ask for it. I did not get any sides. I had the southwest eggs which was good, but very messy and awkward to eat by hand. The gravy on the biscuits seemed to be made from a mix but I am not sure. Their breakfast sausage is very mildly seasoned. We did try one chocolate chip cookie, and it was a chocolate chip cookie, or at least the equivalent to 4 of a standard cookie. The ice cream came in only chocolate and vanilla. Coffee machine was broken. Pretty good for the only restaurant for 40 miles. service was a bit slow, and awkward. speaking to some of the employees they seem to work there in the summer. read more

Well, I don't know which was worse, the service or the food. Call it a tie and a fail. I was visiting my brother in Kanab for Thanksgiving and after exploring the wilderness I wanted a burger, my favorite food. He knew just the place. This was the Friday after Thanksgiving, so why there was only one waiter is beyond me. L**m could not have been more displeased to be there. The restaurant was closed for the season, leaving the bar eating area the only available seating, they were obviously understaffed and L**m could not have cared less. After several minutes he brought menus and eventually returned to take our drink orders. Those showed up after ten minutes. Three of them were water. By then, all the seats at the bar were filled with hikers, hunters, a couple of what looked like FLDS and us. When asked for a straw we got the old side eye from, you guessed it. (I thought that was a California thing, got to ask for straws here.) We each ordered burgers which showed up cooked to death, with no burger sauce, mayo, or other condiments, which again we had to ask for as there were none on the bar. Also, and I know this is officially Arizona, but come on, no fry sauce? Off to the kitchen where our enthusiastic waiter eventually brought us mayo, mustard and ketchup packets. (And not enough of them, so another trip to the kitchen was in order.) We made our own rudimentary fry sauce. Every time our new favorite waiter went to the kitchen, he came back with one thing. To be fair, this was the case with all the patrons. Condiments, creamer, drink refill. No multitasking for our buddy. I was told that this place is LDS owned and they only hire return missionaries. My brother served a mission and I am pretty sure he can do more than one thing at a time. Not Mr Personality though. This was truly one of the worst meals of my life. I still left L**m a healthy tip because this review may seem mean, but I am not heartless. Didn't wait around to see if there was another eye roll. I'd reached my limit. read more

Best pancakes I've had in a very long time, perhaps ever!! I should have ordered a short stack to take home the day we left. And the sausage patty was delicious (recommended by our server). With only some of the North Rim open, there weren't many people at Jacob Lake. Consequently, the dining room was not open. Sitting at the bar gave a nostalgic feeling. We decided in August to book two nights during October at Jacob Lake, to get out of the Phoenix heat. Weather was nice and cool and we had some hail on the car the morning we left. It was a nice stay. We drive from Phoenix to Salt Lake City every summer, usually through Page. But those pancakes will require the route through Jacob Lake to be taken more often. read more

Everybody raves about their cookies. And while their cookies are good, I would not say they are better than other fresh bakery cookies. I think people are just thrilled to have something tasty to focus on instead of their mice-infested cabins at the park. That being said, we also ate breakfast there. Now, their homemade bread/toast IS something to write home about. I just ordered a simple 2 egg/bacon breakfast, and the bread was the best thing. We stopped here for dinner after going to the Grand Canyon North Rim for sunset (so it was about an hour drive). It's an inn, bar counter, restaurant, gift shop, and bakery all in one! I'm adding a photo of the history of the family who runs it - the gal at the bar who serves was so friendly and sweet. The trout was cooked perfectly, and my husband got their specialty burger sandwich the Grand Bull. We also started with their butter rolls which were warm and soft inside and a nice buttery crust outside, with raspberry butter. Driving back and forth to the north rim of the Grand Canyon, we stopped at this Inn and restaurant three times but didn't stay overnight. We tried the restaurant, the gift shop, the bathroom, and the visitors center at different times. The visitors center was frequently closed. Mostly, we ate there. We had a nice late dinner there one night last week, though we had to wait quite a while to be seated. This was more than a little irritating, as my mother has trouble standing for very long, and there was a larger table (6 chairs - we were a party of 4) which stayed empty all evening, and they could have given us. I'm sure it wasn't my server's fsult, as she was extremely friendly and welcoming. However, my party enjoyed the food - my pot pie was very hot and burned my tongue, but everything tasted good. Other people ordered the Southwest pulled pork salad, which I understand was gigantic and tasty, and the trout almondine, which was nice and fresh. I would add that a real highlight was the peach pie- homemade with a real butter crust, and the hot chocolate was a treat. My mother returned the next day to try the famous cookies, and oohed and aahed over the chocolate raspberry cookie, which she tells me was excellent. If we had just come for baked goods, it would have been a perfect stop. We found the souvenirs reasonably priced and of apparently good quality. The waiter behind the counter was very polite and answered all our questions. I would have given a 5 star review if it wasn't for how we were treated when we walked in to get a table. We waited, told them party of 4. We could see 3 tables of 6 and 1 table for 3 open. Only to be told "sorry we can't seat you because if a larger party comes in we'd have no where to sit them. This is our busy time. Can you wait 15 minutes? " No we couldn't and how rude. We were told we could eat at the bar. Stayed here for the night. Came in for dinner. Website never mentioned that in March that they have limited menu items and only cafe bar was open. When the server brought menus to us she promptly showed us that 2/3 of the menu wasn't available. What??? So you're basically looking at 3 burger choices, 2 chicken sandwiches, chicken strips and such. No entree dinner menu items were available. OK so that was a bummer. We made our choice.....Burgers. When they came they were undercooked, and tasted like the meat was old and freezer burned. Bread was sliced white bread made here. It was also old and stale. Fries were good, but not hot. Just warm. Not what we were expecting after seeing other great reviews of this place. The next day we came back for breakfast. You know it's the only place for food. Our thoughts were how could the mess up eggs. Well they did. Eggs were just wrong. Scrambled and watery. Bacon undercooked. French toast was good, but again served cold. Service was ok. But after having 2 meals here I would not come back. Maybe in the summer the help knows what they are doing. Off season is not ran well at all. Fredonia and Marble canyon would be a better place to find meals. Pretty sure they couldn't be this bad. Very disappointing. read more

Stopped in for a bathroom break on our way from hiking Bryce, Zion and Cedar Breaks in Utah. This place is at about 8000 feet elevation and in the talk pine trees. Beautiful surroundings! We decided to buy some pastries from their very well stocked pastry case. Grabbed three delicious cookies. A cookie in a cloud which is chocolate and marshmallow and was incredible. A lemon raspberry that was excellent! And, a chocolate parfait that was pretty good, but in hindsight I wish we'd have gotten the German chocolate cookie. But, no way the 2 of us could have gone back and eaten a 4th cookie without tossing all of them :-) The place, from the lobby perspective, was clean and homey. The staff we dealt with was very friendly and greeted us with a smile. The surroundings are beautiful. We were told by several folks, including a park ranger at Glen Canyon Dam, to grab a pastry here if we were passing by and it was definitely worth it! I recommend you do the same! read more

We stayed in the Hotel and ate breakfast one morning. The food was good though they had few Glutten free options. We were told they have more options starting with Lunch. The eggs were cooked properly and the fruit was fresh. The service was not very attentive as we had to ask twice for catsup. We treid to eat breakast there the next day but we were told the dining room was reserved for a tour bus. We were given the option of sitting at the counter which had 2 stools open but we thought the kitchen would be overwhelmed. read more

This review is for the cookies and the cookies alone. Pick one (or all) up for a pre-hike or post-hike snack. I don't like oatmeal raisin cookies, but theirs are thick, chewy, and oh so delicious. The chocolate parfait cookie is a delightful and creamy chocolate chip cookie. You can't go wrong with a classic peanut butter cookie, either. I have many regrets because I did not get a gingersnap cookie. Also all the snacks they have available do not suck if you forgot to pack some. read more

We were told the reason our food took so long to come out was a chef shift change. Not sure how that leads to inedible food. The server was friendly, but not attentive. The only thing dragging the review down is that two folks in the party got the Salisbury steak and were NOT delighted. No gravy, just salsa--kind of weird.
