As I approached the food truck, I was immediately greeted by the staff. I ordered Birria Tacos and one of the staff members asked me if I wanted anything to drink and he asked me did I want to try a juice they made. The juice was called Passion Fruit Juice and as I sampled the juice, it was so refreshing so I ordered a cup. The Birria Tacos were delicious, flavorful, crispy, and the cheese melt was just the right amount of cheese. A lot of places cannot make Birria Tacos but these Birria Tacos were right on the money. One thing I love about them is their presentation. The Passion Fruit Juice came with a strawberry that looked like a rose. When I'm in the area I will definitely be back again to visit there food truck

Ambiance - They have a table for people who want to sit down near by, you can choose to wait there or leave and come back. They have the option of a beeper to notify you when your food is ready. I ended up staying until my name was called. They had music playing & seemed very organized! Food - I ordered a birria ramen and it came with a free birria taco!! The birria ramen had good flavor, I wish it had thicker noodles. The noodles were a bit too thin for my liking. I did add in shredded mozzarella cheese to tie it in and in the end it was a 7.5/10! If they had different noodles it would be a 8.5/10. Now the birria taco.... AMAZING. Hit the spot for what I was craving!! I loved the crunch, flavor and dipped it in my consumé for extra flavor. The presentation for everything was very pleasing and I definitely will come back here and try more items on their menu. Drinks - Great selection, would love to come back and try one for sure. I didn't end up grabbing one this time. I do like the presentation for these. Location - Next to Trinity college at end of a road. You are able to park on the street for free. I walked a few minutes to get to it with no issues. There is another truck next door to it as well.

We were the only customers there! I had seen on-line that three food trucks would be present, but there were just two -The Gulla Grille (Brazilian) and Taste of Home (Puerto Rican). Aunties Pasta (Italian) wasn't there. The designers of Westside really need to get a lot of credit for the beautiful job they did in salvaging this forlorn corner of Hartford. The dozens of wood tables and benches were made from old recycled industrial spools, and they are really amazing. There are corn hole boards, beer pong table, Giant Jenga, Connect Four, a movie screen, a music stage, and a bar spread throughout the property so there's a ton of things to do there. I had a kebab plate from Gulla and my wife had a cheeseburger from Taste of Home. She was given one of those buzzing gizmos to tell her when her food was ready. I knew my lunch was ready when the guy flagged me down like he was hailing a cab. I love the concept of food truck courts and I suspect Westside is quite a bit busier in the evenings that it was lunch time on a holiday weekend Saturday, when we had the place to ourselves..

I've got a hot water bottle, but nothing i've got'll take the place of you holdin me tight. I've got steam heat". (from the 1954 Broadway musical The Pajama Game) Steamed cheeseburgers seem to be a Connecticut thing, and Meriden, CT's Ted's Restaurant might be Ground Zero for the genre. It was established in 1959 and soon became a popular destination for Meriden's many factory workers who worked around the clock. Td's stayed open until 4 AM to accommodate them. Ted's doesn't fry their burgers in a pan or grill them on a grill. Nope - they steam them in a steel cabinet and serve them with a scoop of melted cheese and your choice of free toppings, like ketchup, mustard, mayo, lettuce tomato, chopped onions, pickles or even bacon. Their food truck is named "Steam Machine" and it was at Cheshire Craft Brewing today. In fact, it's there every Friday night and weekends. It can also be found at Hartford area attractions like Bushnell Park, the Xfinity Theatre, and at Pratt & Whitney Stadium for UConn Huskies football games. Our cheeseburgers were $8 each and they were great! I will defer to Yelper Keli R's epic description below: "Slathered high, drippy, messy, greasy with fresh vegies. It was a b*tch to eat and worth all the struggle". Yes, they sure were Keli.
