Small mint oreo waffle cone
Jennifer E.

Cute little place!! We walked from the Groggy Froggy after some dinner. There is seating inside and outside. The employees were very friendly and helped us pick out flavors by letting us taste a few. I got a "small" mint oreo waffle cone, which was anything but small!! The cone was freshly made, and the ice cream was delicious!! My daughter got a cone of the CT something or other... blackberry (?) and lemon. It's was very refreshing and summery. My husband got a soft serve twist cone because he's boring. But he was happy. It was definitely worth the stop! Check it out!

My fiancé and I had a nice night getting ice cream at Praline's! We thought the portion sizes were really generous, and they had a great variety of flavors. We sat on the bench outside and enjoyed our night. I would definitely come back again, and the girls behind the counter were friendly and welcoming!

Had the coconut bar ice cream after a heavy dinner nearby and it was great. Lots of options and even dog ice cream which our labradoodle loved.

The best staff (& ice cream). First timers and it won't be our last. Ample parking on the street or in the lot on the side of the building. Great selection of ice cream & frozen treats. The staff was very accommodating to our sons request and we couldn't be happier. You can enjoy your ice cream inside or enjoy a nice night with their outside seating.

Love the large ice cream flavor selection! They also have seasonal flavors - in the winter, they had peppermint and eggnog! I was told that their most popular flavor was bees knees and I could definitely see why - a delicious graham-based with chocolate chunks/crisp flavor that isn't too sweet but still creamy and delicious. They also carried sherbet options for those who may be lactose intolerant but still wanted to fulfill their sweet tooth

So here I am at Pat's looking at all the wonderful choices of ice creams, and sherbets I decided on one scoop of peaches and cream, and one scoop of lemon pie! The peaches and cream was smooth and delicious from the word go. This was a solid choice. Now this lemon pie choice was flipping amazing. There was graham crackers in with this creamy lemon ice creamy concoction. One of the best choices here at Pat's and it's new! I love coming here. Pat is such a nice guy, warm, friendly, treats everybody like he's known them for years, and his ice cream choices are spectacular This place is old school and I love sitting outside watching the traffic go by enjoying the ice cream. If you are in the area, it's just south of downtown on route 10 on the right heading towards Cheshire right after CVS. Thanks again, Pat. I hope to see you again this summer.

I consider myself very lucky to live in town so I can come here often. They are open every day until 9p! Workers seem really nice and attentive. The place is also very cute, kinda like a throwback to the 90s mom and pop feel in there!

I always return to popular places that I didn't connect with in the same way super fans do…read more Sometimes, I think I got it right. And sometimes, I have to admit I got it wrong. In the case of Tulmeadow Farm and Lacroix's Homemade (I'm posting the same update for both), I have to admit that I had it somewhat wrong. Both Tulmeadow and Lacroix's made @cticecreamtour's Top 15 CT Creameries. My original reviews for both Tulmeadow and Lacroix's were both good btw. I just didn't initially connect with the flavors I tried in the way that I did with my other CT favorites. Since those initial reviews, everything I tried at each has been a banger. At Lacroix's, I've now had Banana ice cream, Peanut Butter Cup ice cream, Biscoff ice cream and a Sundae with coconut caramel ice cream and a S'mores flavor. The sundae with hot fudge, peanut butter sauce, whipped cream and maybe the best cherry I've ever had in a sundae (don't know what they did) was great, but it's harder to pick out the flavors of the ice cream with all the delicious toppings. The ice cream seemed very good though. The Peanut Butter Cup flavor was outstanding. Very rich with big gobs of cups. The banana flavor was amazingly realistic. And the Biscoff was very good too. While Lacroix's is very popular and there is always a steady flow of business, I like that I get access to the friendly owners there too. Lacroix's is 5 Stars and I'm updating my review.

The patio tables are out and ready. I had the large sundae and my wife had the small waffle cone. First of all the cone and scoops were anything but small! Be advised you get a lot. My sundae was packed with 3 large scoops, strawberries, sprinkles, whipped cream and a cherry. It was amazing. The ice-cream is creamy, not whipped full of air like others. The flavors jump out and grab you. My wife's black raspberry chip was loaded with chocolate. The pistachio ice-cream was loaded with whole pistachio nuts. We traveled farther but we didn't have better.

"I'll build a house of gingerbread someday And bring my…read moresugar cookie home to stay" (Stevie Wonder) Beware of cuteness overload when you cross paths with Cookie Ranger because adorableness will engulf you wherever you look. Want an example? Well, look no further than the high level of cuteness Snowman cookie we picked up. He had a marshmallow for a head, chocolate chips for eyes, and M&M for a mouth, and half a mini-Reese's Piece for a hat. Throw that creativity on a peanut butter cookie, add a blanket of snowy white vanilla frosting and you have a delicious and quite creative work of art. We also picked up a crunchy, and chewy Ranger White Chocolate Chip Cookie made from oats, Krispies, coconut, and white chocolate chips, and a conventional chocolate chip cookie. The cookies are large enough (well over four ounces) that we found them easily splitable, and they made a sweet tooth satisfying dessert. They have a very cool product line of cookies - including a cookie-brownie love child and a slew of stuffed "cookie bombs" that pack a gooey layer of yumminess inside the cookie. They have a nice mail order business, but if you visit the store, like we did, you'll find a big selection, a super sweet staff, and plenty of parking. And the icing on the proverbial cookie is this -- they also sell a line of those super-frozen Nitrogen blasted ice creams, shakes, and sundaes. to numb your aching sweet tooths. They'll be closed in January and will reopen in February, so make your Valentines Day cookie purchase plans now.

I ordered the m&m cookie and the stuffed peanut butter cookie, and was very surprised that my bill was $13 for two cookies. The taste was good but not worth the price I paid. "Well, Lordy, Lordy, Lordy, Ms. Claudy Girl, you sure look…read moregood to me" (Elvis Presley) Sweet Claude's may be one of the more difficult to find ice cream stores around, so your mindset better be "determination" focused, because I guarantee you'll be very happy with your dish or cone. You'll find them tucked away pretty much out of view inside the Artsplace building (493 W Main) within the Ball and Socket Art Complex in Cheshire. They've been cranking out homemade ice cream since 1988, and we had a stellar experience when we visited. They have plenty of ice cream flavors (including some nonfat and sugar free), plus yogurts, sorbets and ices. Some of their interesting flavors are Claude's Cupcake, Dough - Si -Dough, Salty Pretzel, Smurf, and a "Banana Corner" which is a rotating selection of banana-based ice cream. How cool! I went with a 2-flavor small dish of Salty Pretzel and Triple Chocolate. The ice cream was smooth as silk and full of flavor. Seriously, their ice cream is terrific, and at $5.35 for a big enough cup, was a very fair value. PRO TIP Because Sweet Claude's is in the Ball and Socket Art Complex there are many sections within the complex to park your car. But only park in front of Sweet Claude's if you plan on staying there for no more than a half hour. Visitors to the rest of the complex or the Farmington River Trail should leave those precious spots to the ice cream afficionados!
