This is a shame, as this company was referred to me by my uncle. Unfortunately, my experience has been extremely disappointing. One of my boxes went missing while in one of their own storage units, and despite providing a clear inventory of its contents (worth close to $1,000), I've received little more than vague assurances for over 12 weeks. Only recently was I offered a reimbursement that doesn't even cover half the cost of a single item from the box. What's more concerning is the lack of accountability. No proper inventory was taken at the time of the move, and I was never told that their team should have been responsible for boxing and backing up items in order for coverage to apply. Without that transparency, it feels like customers are left unprotected if something goes wrong. For anyone considering movers, I would recommend Piece of Cake instead, they were half the price and, based on my experience, far more reliable. read more

I wish I could give Keating 6 stars, they are that good! They showed up on time. They were professional. They knew what they were doing; nothing was a problem. They were careful with everything. We have not finished unpacking but so far we have not found anything damaged. They worked hard without complaining on a hot and humid day. All that and their price was very reasonable. Our circumstances were not ideal, but Keating moving services were EXCELLENT the entire way through! When we first decided to move, we had about 3 weeks to set everything in motion. A friend recommended Ed, and when we called, he was nice and professional, and came over for a (masked) personal consultation. The fee was reasonable, and we were set to move February 1st. But then as the date got closer, the weather reports started rolling in, and we were expected to get a blizzard on the very day we were moving! So, on January 30th, Ed called and suggested we move a day earlier (January 31st) in order to beat the snow. We followed his recommendation, but while we had slowly been packing up everything a little bit each day, we still had a lot to do that we had reserved for that day before the move! Now...we had to "panic pack"!! So when we got to our (new) Move-In day, our place was a chaotic MESS! But the team came in (again, with masks on, during these crazy pandemic times) and just worked to help us finish packing up and getting out of there. Our belongings were handled with care, and everything was over and done with over the course of about 7 hours! The attached picture is what our (NEW) place looked like on the day of our originally-intended move, and it only got WORSE. No way we could have moved then! A big thanks to Ed and his crew. I moved locally within Nassau County and a friend suggested Ed's business as her daughter had used him twice and was very happy. Ed came to the house at the scheduled time and gave me a written quote which was very reasonable. He was flexible with the date of the moving day as I still wasn't sure of the closing day on my house. From the minute the movers arrived to the time they left I could not have been happier on a stressful day. The guys working for Ed had twenty and twenty five years working for him. They know their stuff and how to pack the truck accordingly. They took good care of fragile items and even put tarps over bannisters so there was no damage/scratches to anything. Moving is stressful but Ed and his guys were terrific. If I could give them ten stars I would. If you need a mover don't hesitate to hire them. read more

Steer far away!! If I had read the reviews below regarding this company and them damaging their furniture I would have NEVER moved forward. Before I hired them, I specially spoke with the owner, Ed and physically showed him MY furniture, which I could not have stressed more, the caution needed with my antique Original Provisional French Bedroom set which was imported from France and a wedding gift from my farther. It has so many special meanings to me. He guaranteed me all would be "perfect and well" The day of the move, I also pointed out to the movers AND the owner, AGAIN the bottom of my Bedroom set- dresser drawer which has unique specific details and must be wrapped and handled with care. They "yes'd" me to pieces. Once we arrived to my new home and while they were unloading the truck, after 10 minutes they showed me my BROKEN dresser drawer! I was clearly very upset and called the owner. Nonetheless after us going back and forth on the phone he hung up on me. RUDE. He was yelling over me and would not listen. I ultimately told Ed that I had more to advise him and he would not listen. My husband also stated while they were trying to show him "why" the dresser broke, one of the movers was cursing uncontrollably. Unprofessional by all means. Please also know the company's movers, one specially, was VERY out of line and forward with me. I am a married woman. I will have my attorney follow up with them being the owner did not want to listen. They broke my furniture. Did a very POOR job in GLUEING it back together. And NEVER put the original screws back in the armoire which they dissembled. All photos are attached. If I could give this company a ZERO, NO stars Whatsoever I would. read more

Had to move all my belongings to some pod type containers 45 minutes away before those were shipped to Florida. Eddie came by, provided a reasonable quote and the guys showed up right on time on the agreed date. The guys doing the moving were friendly, efficient and very careful with everything they moved to the truck and then later to the containers. I used Ed and his team to move homes this past December. We'd been living in that home for 20 years so there was a lot to move, and a lot to be thrown away. He came by and gave a straightforward reasonable estimate, and then his team showed up right on time the day of - and executed efficiently! Eddie and his crew was on time, polite and very careful with my possessions. BUT...A small ratan table (1 of 3) is missing also is a box marked "kitchen". One month after my move, with everything unpacked, and gone through again and again I am missing a box my sister gave me many years ago, my melamine plates and a Costco size can of peanuts. There was also a file of business cards that I kept for doctors, repair shops etc. I am sure the box had other items in it as well and that every so often I will remember was was stolen from me. Ed and his crew are amazing! We moved from a 2nd floor walk up to another 2nd floor walk up. The guys moved quick, knew what they were doing, and absolutely respected our space and our belongings. We ended up needing storage for a month which Ed simply set up for us. Nothing came back with bugs, water stains, musk, broken, etc that I've had with storage before. On move in, they even had to coordinate not touching certain walls because they were being painted at the same moment. Furniture that they had previously disassembled, they reassembled perfectly. On the morning of our move, Eddie texted and said that he was canceling our job with no explanation. He offered no apology and no other options for us. This was not only upsetting but really scary that he could do this to us like this and leave us hanging. I would never recommend using a company that did this to anyone else. This company was highly recommended to us by a friend, and they were good,up to a point. They ruined our Tempur-pedic mattress. This mattress must be transported in a flat position, as per the Tempur-pedic website. The Keating crew folded it in half and left it in that position on the truck overnight before delivering it the following day.This caused irreversible damage, and when we complained, Eddie's response was: "Why didn't you tell me?" First, I am not in the habit of reading the website of each product I own, and I did so only after finding a very different mattress following the move. Second, isn't it the responsibility of professional moving companies to know the proper way to transport a diversity of household goods. Surely, we are not the only people on LI who own such a mattress. Eddie does not return our calls, and when we were able to reach him, he discouraged us from filing a claim with his insurance company, saying they would pay only about $60. He told us instead to claim with our homeowners insurance company, which does not covers damage during moving. We are still attempting to file against his insurer and are deciding our next step. In the meantime, we unequivocally say stay away from Keating Moving. read more

They arrived exactly on time, were very careful with our belongings and delivered everything to our new home when they said they would. The crew was incredible to watch. I am writing this review on behalf of my client who used Keating for a major, high-end move this summer (2013) after being recommended by a close friend. Unfortunately, the experience was superiorly disappointing. Nearly $15,000 worth of damage and LOSS of property was attributed to my client's belongings - including to several sentimental, personal, and irreplaceable items. Further, Keating has been entirely uncommunicative, negligent, and unprofessional in regards to these damages, as it is now nearly November and they have continued to brush this entire situation and all contact with my client aside. Hired Keating Moving and Storage Company to move me. The company did not perform as expected and was very unprofessional. The company was recommended to me by a personal friend. Workers mishandled, broke/ damaged, as well as, scratched several furniture items. Company did not attempt to get my couch into my new home the day of the move and stated that I needed to use another company they recommended/affiliated with to take my couch apart and put together. Moving Company wanted to charge me an extra fee($150.00) to re-deliver(stated in text message) which is unfair because they provided poor service and did not complete the job. When I contacted company owner to inform him of all the damage , he did not respond until I contacted him for a third time in which he replied that he "was away and that I seem to be a critical person." He requested photos of damage and I never heard from him even though i provided several photos until two weeks later when I scheduled the hire of the "Couch Dr" to pick up my couch from Keating Storage to disassemble/reassemble my couch. Owner sent me a text message, as well as, email stating that he would ONLY release the couch and waive the $150.00, if I agreed to accept this amount for the damage his company rendered on my personal items. He sent me text messages at 6:50 AM the day the couch was to be picked up by the couch company and when i refused, he called the person,who was scheduled to pick up the couch, and told him that Keating would not release my couch until I pay him the $150.00 since I would not accept this as a sufficient amount for all the damage his workers had caused and that I owe him money instead which is false. . The company was paid in full the day of the move. I have several texts messages, emails, and receipts to verify all information stated above.
