They offered the best price out of 3 other estimates I've gotten and was very accommodating to my schedule. Terry was very friendly and courteously on the phone when providing estimate. When the movers came I was quite pleasantly surprised that the crew was 3 when I was expecting 2 given the estimate given. They worked very efficiently and swiftly loading my furniture onto the truck. I could definitely tell they were very experienced as they were able to get my couch out of a narrow entrance within seconds when the original delivery men had to twist and turn it so many times to get it into my apartment. I did a lot of research choosing the best moving company for my small one bedroom apartment. Terry's quote was reasonable, so after talking to him I hired them for my move. They arrived about 30 minutes late, but that did not delay my estimated arrival time to my new place. The guys were very professional and handled the items well. We encountered problems fitting my couch in, so the movers took it apart, squeezed it in and successfully reassembled it. Horrible experience!! My move was scheduled between 2 and 3. The movers kept calling me to tell me they were running a little late from another move. They didn't start my move until after 5pm. The two movers didn't seem too experienced. They didn't protect any of my furniture before taking it downstairs. Another moving company that I dealt with just the year before wrapped everything really well and I had no damage. After I got settled in I notice one side of my bed must have been scraped against the wall real bad and had scratched and white from the wall all over it. I called the owner and he said he would have a guy call me. Guy never called. I called again and he said they would have to take my bed to a restoration place for a few hours. Not happy that they would have to take apart my bed not being sure when I would actually get it back by. They never showed up or called back. Its like they are trying to avoid fixing it. I never received any compensation. Oh yeah and I had to pay cash with no receipt. Shoulda knew there was something wrong there, my fault. They also don't offer any kind of insurance that you can purchase like other moving companys. My advice spend a little more and go with College Hunks. read more

This is the second time we have used this moving company and both times we had a good experience. Fair prices and the guys worked hard. My only complaint was that they left one small piece of my daughters bed in the truck. (Which I needed to set up the bed) And it took them 3 days to return it is. I'll start with the positive: They weren't slow, not super expensive and moving time/day(s) are very flexible. Now the negative: There were 2 older men (mid to late 60's I would say), & 1 younger man. One of the older men huffed/puffed, mumbled & talked to himself, complained to himself the entire time, especially regarding the weight of the items & where they were to be placed. It was beyond irritating. I wanted to scream. Not sure how they work with the guy, truly. The other older man had a bit of an attitude & he put one of our TV remote controls in a desk drawer & didn't tell us. So, we had absolutely no idea where the heck it was. How about communication? I was right there the entire time. I had to contact the younger man to see if he knew where it was. He got back to me with the exact location of the remote. So, it wasn't that big a deal. They damaged a very expensive armoire (got paint on it because it scraped a white door along the way somewhere & obtained giant scratch), a dining room table became very wobbly & loose (needs to be glued now), we can't seem to find an unused wardrobe box worth about $16.00 & they reeked of cigarette smoke. The younger man said he'd come back the next day to remove the paint that was on the armoire. I told him specifically that we are a scent sensitive house & that it would be ok as long as the product he'll use had no strong odor. Well, he came the next day w/the wrong product. It smelled so bad & so strong, I immediately felt sick. I had to leave the windows open for about 24 hours (mid-winter) & was very upset. He was apologetic, but wow, unbelievable. They also soiled a chair, that I was able to clean with soap & water & didn't bother covering our mattresses. So they had leaves & dirt on them from the truck. The woman in the office took my info 3 times, including the list of items to be moved. So, good think I saved list on my computer. Then the owner asked me again to verify everything. Overall, they seemed unorganized, & not very good at being a moving company. Maybe they all suck. Haven't been impressed yet & we've moved quite a bit in our lives. Don't think I'll use them again & definitely wouldn't recommend, unless you don't mind the negative listed above possibly happening to you as well. read more

I recommend Dunbar Moving without reservation, and here's why: I called on Saturday to ask if they could move the contents of a small house on Sunday. That's right. You heard me: the next day! And, yes, Terry said that they could. What is more, the fee was reasonable, so we set the date. Everyone told me not to expect them to show up, but they were 15 minutes early! I was sure that the entire household would be packed and they would just need to load everything on the truck, so we estimate a 2 man, 2 hour job. That turned out to be an optimistic estimate. The 2-hour job turned into a 6 hour job, including a 1 hour lunch break. I felt bad, but Ronnie and Matt could not have been nicer about it. They did a beautiful job, were pleasant to us and very respectful of our property. We paid cash, but that might have been because it was a last-minute job. They may take credit cards otherwise. They really knew what they were doing and they worked non-stop. Moving is such an awful experience, but they made it almost bearable. All in all, a terrific moving company.
