I purchased my trailer from this dealer about a year ago. Had a pretty good experience being that it is my first RV. I have had some unfortunate issues due to accidents and some warranty items that weren't explorers fault and the service guy, Brandon Kloss, I worked w each time was very professional and responsive. One time I needed to talk to his superior about an unrelated issue and she called me the same day. If I could give a -0 for honesty, they would certainly deserve it!!! Let me start by saying the salesman we dealt with, Mike, was very nice and only doing his job. But the management, LIARS!!! It's starts on their website. I would say about 80% of the units we were interested in state "Make Offer". Wrong, you pay the advertised price and nothing less. We looked at a hail damaged unit and made a lower offer due to the damage. We were then told, "There is no hail damage. We received these units before the storm." When they went back out to look and saw there WAS damage, "We'll give you one without damage". Seriously, 2 strikes, I'm done!!! And did I mentioned they said they don't report the hail damage on the title. At least that is what we were told. Total dishonesty at every turn. Buyer beware. We bought ours in Tyler, Tx. Same experience, ExplorerUSA is not a reputable dealer. On our walk thru listed several items that needed to be fixed. We went for lunch came back, they said all was fixed. Sadly nothing was fixed but we didn't know until we got home in Grapevine. I'll back up a bit, we bought her at the RV show on 1.06.2022. Salesman said when he got back to dealership on the following Monday he would get it in the bay to have it looked over & cleaned up for us to pickup. Well we didn't hear anything until 1.12 and was told the kitchen faucet needed replacing and it's a warranty issue. Well we kept calling and by 1.17 he said they still haven't heard from warranty. I know it doesn't take that long as if you actually put your request in. Long story short they finally told us we could do our walk thru on 1.24. Now this has been 2 weeks that they had plenty of time to fix anything they saw. I kept calling for our tech to confirm our appointment and got no answer or call back. I then called our salesperson and he told us the tech was no longer with them. When we went back to pick her up it was raining and took their word that they fixed the issues we had. Got home husband called them furious as some other things happened on the way home. They wanted us to bring it back (2 hour drive one way) drop her off then when they fixed everything we then we would have to come pick her up. My husband was furious as this was their issues and didn't think it was right for us to drive 2 round trips. He got a general Mgr involved and he made arrangements for us to take it to a closer location in Denton. Well they were no better. 3 weeks it was there and he finally drove there to find nothing had been done & the guy that had been working on it was no longer there & no one knew what he had done. Well he took her and we made another appt with the ExplorerUSA in Ft. Worth and we took her there on 1.31. We got better service there with the walk thru of what all was wrong than the other 2 put together. They did tell us it would be about a week & 1/2 before they could start the work & we agreed to let them keep her. we will find out by the end of this week that all has been fixed. Sorry this was so long but everyone should know about ExplorerUSA, please research your dealer before you buy. Came here looking for a trailer toy hauler. Was met with a smile and friendly greeting. No high pressure was nice. Looked at many units here. Put money down to hold a particular unit while on site. We had our 2019 RV in for a factory recall plus an issue with one of our hydraulic jacks...our service manager Rob was excellent and Dorman pitched in when Rob was out. This review is also only directed at the service department. We had purchased a used 5th wheel a year and a half ago. As part of the inspection, it was found that the TV/DVD combo did not play DVDs and the cooling fan for microwave/convection oven made a loud noise. It turned out that the fan blades were hitting the broken housing. Both items were replaced with different (supposedly new) units and everything was fine until last month. The microwave would turn off after a few minutes and would not turn back on for a while. I thought I would have to use my extended warranty to have it fixed. When I pulled the microwave, I saw that the fan housing was broken but that it had previously been repaired with epoxy. This was not a new unit that I was led to believe. I called and had to leave a message with the manager. I explained my dissatisfaction with being given a shoddily fixed unit which did not last. I have yet to hear back from them. Based on this experience, I would not recommend their service department for anything. There are too many other places that want your return business. read more

After several days and numerous discussions we were ready to purchase a used 5th wheel. However, when the contract was presented to us the purchase price and interest rate were much higher than quoted by the general manager. I made a quick call and got approval for a much lower interest rate. When we told the manager he told us he could not get us a better rate and he would have to raise the price if we didn't use him. We immediately left and went to another dealer. We found out later that day he hadn't even shopped for the loan. It was all a lie. read more

We bought a 2014 Heartland Gateway from this place the first week of October in 2013. We are 1st timer's at owning an RV, we were excited about the idea. Being that we had a special request for a pull-out couch instead of a trundle bed. We had to wait 3-4 weeks for the installation. We mainly were told that we were waiting for delivery of the couch which was coming by train. Our 1st payment was due, which we gave. Then our plates arrived within 3 weeks and we decided to go and put them on ourselves at the dealership. Mind you, we are excited about our purchase. Upon entering and surprising the staff, and letting them know that we came to put our plates on. They call to the shop area to let them know we were there. Instead of walking us out, they stalled us with conversation. We knew they were killing time with us, and it was obvious something was up. After 15 minutes or so, I said, "Can we head back?". Naturally they said, yes. As we were escorted to the back, our trailer was the first one parked in the shop. We saw 3 shop guys coming out quickly from our trailer. We overheard our sales person Janice, tell the guys that the trailer was ours and that it was already sold. We entered the trailer and can hear Janice whispering to the guys outside. We found the A/C running, which to us was because they are making sure things are good. The floor was dusty, a fresh ring of condensation from a cup on the counter, imprints of items just taken off the couches, the toilets were dirty on the inside as if in use. It appeared to us, that our trailer was being used as a breakroom/office area for the shop guys. We left not feeling good about this surprise visit. Once we got home, we get a phone call from the manager Richard Duffey, saying that the trailer is ready for pickup. This seemed to us like they all talked and said, "We need to give them their trailer immediately, before they change their minds". Nonetheless, we were happy to get our RV on Halloween day and it was cleaned. Lesson learned here: If your RV is being serviced, pay surprise visits to check that they are not living in it. After having our RV with us, we have had a few issues since our purchase. Our lever to one Recliner is bent inwards some. (We can live with it). We had our toilet clog on us, which we took care of in December. Then we had a major leak from the commode area pipes in March. To find out that the Black levers was the Grey line. These lines were mis-labled. So in other words, our poop was just sitting there piling up. Now, being that we do not have a truck to haul this RV around on a whim, we paid someone to check it out, $90. To tell us that he did not want to touch it, cause it's under warranty. So, my husband fixed the problem. We now leave the Black open and Grey closed. Problem from this, is that when we turn the furnace on, we now have a nasty smell of manure. We are grateful the toilet thing is fixed. Mid March, my front burner on my stove burns black stuff on my pot's and smells like burnt rubber. I have stopped using the burner, and have 2 left for now. In March we moved to Oklahoma, 90 miles from where we had the RV delivered in Northlake, TX. And now in May, we have a water leak under the same bathroom area. It's not the toilet this time, but according to an RV repair man, we have a faulty Water Pump. 7 months of problems! The service guy told us our trailer was built on a Monday. Ha! July 2014-Our top of our Lounge Lights keep shorting out. Our Bunk Room A/C said goodbye. The Parks RV repair guy replaced it and will work with the warranty. Still waiting for repairs on other items mentioned. We are debating trading our RV, and will not or even consider buying with Explore USA again. Sucks to have a LEMON!! read more

Let me help you get your expectations in line with the experience for ExploreUSA. At this point, I have had my RV (Brand New at purchase time) for 10 months. At least 3 and possibly 4 of those months sitting in the shop. Typical service experience is to set an appointment for 30 days or so from the time you call. Drop off the RV and wait. The day you drop off the RV is NOT the day they will have a tech look at it. In fact, they don't know when a tech will look at it. I quote "they don't work this way". Not sure why you have an appointment day if no one is looking at your unit. So the covered parking your paying for, useless. Additionally, get ready to hear how many RV service customers they have in front of you if you call to followup. This is a typical answer of 30ish to 40ish in front of you. All I hear them telling me is they don't have enough help to meet demand and no interest in fixing this problem. Expect to have it in the shop at least 30 days. That is AT LEAST 60 days from when you called to get your unit fixed. Not sure this is always true but the last 2 trips the RV wasn't fixed and needed a return visit. Oh, and yes, should you need to return for something just attempted repair, your 30 day wait starts again to get INTO the shop. Remember this is drop off only, NO ONE knows when they will grace the door of your unit to look at it. Don't ask to pick up your RV and use it once it is in the shop even if they are sitting on it and not looking at it. You will go...and I quote...to the "back of the line". (To be fair, I have since gotten some bend on this rule as I complained ALOT.) This is my first RV and not sure if this is a typical experience or just ExploreUSA. I have had 4 boats. If you think boats are a pain, you have no business (As I didn't) getting an RV from ExploreUSA. Worst purchase decision BY FAR in my 48 year life. Also, might be hard to believe I typically don't complain and have never posted negative comments ever before about anything. ExploreUSA has earned this post more the than once in 10 months but I am finally frustrated enough to go out of my way to post. read more

I purchased a new Crossroads Elevation here and my initial experience with the sales team was good. Since then my experience with the service department has been terrible. Poor communication and no follow through. They had damaged my awning while it was in for service and agreed to repair it. Now 3 months later they refuse to repair it correctly. I am actually having to seek legal action to get the issue resolved. I would avoid them if you can. read more

I contacted ExploreUSA and spoke with a salesman about purchasing a Voltage 3990 5th wheel toy hauler. Of course ExploreUSA shows a MSRP of $121,553 for the unit I am interested in. They show a sales price of $113,208. If you have never shopped for RV's most are very bad examples of sales people. I shopped their price and found Holman RV online with an advertised price of $71,991 for the exact same unit. When I spoke with the salesperson at ExploreUSA I asked them to match Holmans price and I would buy from them. The response I got from the salesman shocked me. He said only if I let them finance the unit because they get a kickback from the finance company. I reluctantly agreed to allow them to finance it but gave specific instructions I wanted to purchase the unit in a corporation that was owned by our family trust and that the unit needed to be titled in the corporate name. I get a call from Justin Massey and I explained this to him and he tells me they can not sell the unit like that and that it needs to be in my name personally. Is this guy an attorney? Apparently not!!! After getting blown off for over 4 hours I was fed up with dealing with the salesman and Justin Massey. I finally asked Justin if I obtained my own financing would he still sell me the unit for the same price as Holmans RV. He laughed at me and gave me a flat "No, I am not selling you the unit for that price if we don't finance it for you". I went to Holman RV and bought my unit and they are delivering to me this week.I had dealt with Justin Massey when he worked the Canton, Texas store last year and I never went back then because he was so rude and unprofessional. Trust me, if you want a good experience in purchasing an RV, my suggestion is stay away from ExploreUSA!!!! read more

Worst experience ever buying any hi ticket item, these guys make car dealers look like Sunday at church, If there was a score of zero they for sure would bet one. They say when you buy the unit it will take 3 to 7 days to get it ready. Three days after I sign at my credit union I have to listen to the manager MIKE yell at me. I think the customer service is horrible but he said he paid the TAX ALREADY ( i ASSUME SO HE COULD GET MY CREDIT UNION DRAFT CASHED FIRST Must have a cash flow problem. We bought a new 5th wheel . The service dept had it more months the first year than we did. We called again when the back door of the toy hauler fell completely off they told us we were one day to late on the warranty. It was their fault it fell off they had worked on the tail gate and did not put it back on correctly. We left it for three months to get several things fix. We went and picked it up. We were told that it was fixed and when we got there we had to wait for them to finish it. We went this weekend on a trip and guess what the things that were fixed were not. Surprise surprise. It leaked so bad I had pans catching the water and in the front door it was coming in so fast I used all of our towels to mop up the water . So please don't buy a trailer there. They will tell you whatever they need to , to make you think it will be fixed. I would give anything if we could trade ours off and start over but we are not able to that at this time. We were in the market for a new Mobile Suite (This one was 2015) and completed an application, since they advised us if we went with their financing, they would take off $6000 from the purchase price. So we completed the application and the first day we had 2 credit checks. They called us with a much higher rate than what we wanted, so we told them we decided to hold off on buying an RV at this time. The very next day our credit alerts went off with 1 more credit checks. We called and told them no need to check our credit anymore, because we were not buying an RV from them. The 3rd day 6 more credit checks came across with credit alerts. 9 total credit checks in 3 days, after the first day telling them we were not buying. Our Life lock person told me she had not seen this many credit checks since she has been working with Life Lock. Please guard your credit and check with your banks or credit Unions before considering buying, especially with this company. Our credit score goes down 2 to 3 points every credit check done. They had the nerve to say they only checked 4 times. Still to many, since only 2 was done before we told them no more. Not a good company to deal with. Never will we call them again or have any dealings with them. Glad we didn't buy from them. NOTE: We found an Mobile Suite (This one was 2016), $5000 cheaper and a newer model. So keep shopping and make sure you get a better deal. read more

My wife and our son have spent days upon long days looking at camper after camper. We have been to many many different dealers. We have walked miles upon miles trying to choose the right camper for us. In our long journey we have come across a myriad of camper salesmen/women. So many that we know the usual lingo that goes with the trade and sales tactics. It was not only physically exhausting but also mentally exhausting to hear the same bait and switch conversation over and over. We were pressured, pushed, and over all treated like cattle going through the sale. It was very impersonal and degrading. Little did they know we have owned a total of 4 campers in our lifetime and know plenty about them. We were at the point of just giving up and going a different direction. We decided to do one last day of looking in the Denton area. When we pulled into the Explore USA in Denton we were impressed with the amount of inventory they had for us to look at. We had done our research and had narrowed down a few campers that we wanted to focus on. While we were out on the lot looking we were approached by a super friendly and down to earth employee named Franny. After all the multiple places and sales people we dealt with, we instantly had a feeling of trust with her. She was refreshing and knowledgeable about the campers. She did not pressure us or use sales tactics. She honestly cared and wanted to help in any way for us find the right camper. We just wished we had found Frannie earlier and saved us a ton of looking. We finally narrowed down our decision to two different campers. We were exhausted and needed to rest and think about our decision. We live 2 1/2 hours away from their dealership so we stayed the night in a hotel nearby. Franny embodies such a true customer-focused service that she ended up coming in 3 hours before her scheduled shift to have ready the last two campers we were choosing from pulled out, opened up, completely running and fully ready for us to walk through..... oh and also it was pouring down rain. None of that mattered to her. She just put on her rain coat and did what she needed to do to take care of her customers. Wow... that was so amazing of her respect for our time being out of town. We would definitely recommend purchasing from ExploreUSA Denton and letting Franny be your ambassador of fun!! read more

This review update is strictly for the service dept, not the sales team. As you can see from our original review a year ago, we had a great purchasing experience at Explore RV. Since then, as with any RV, we've had some issues that needed to be dealt with by the service department. To say that any of the occasions have gone smoothly would be an understatement. The customer care doesn't really seem to be there. The staff is very friendly, they really try, but they just don't seem to be very organized... almost every time we've called, we've never received phone calls back, even when leaving messages about scheduling appointments, and one time we took off work to bring in the RV to get measurements for awnings only to find out a few weeks later that they lost all the measurements (we had to call twice to find out about that since no one ever called us back like they said they would)-- so we need to take another day off work to take it in again. Why take a day off work? Because they aren't open on the weekends! I dont know how its possible in this day and age for a businesses in the recreational industry to be closed on the weekends, but they are. In the future, if we buy another RV, I'll make sure to do it at a business that has a service department open on the weekends. read more

We bought a brand new trailer hitch (Equalizer 4-point sway control and weight distribution) which we believe is the best on the market. It is still in the box. We shopped for a travel trailer at Explore USA and was told that we had to buy there trailer hitch (same one we bought new) because they would not use ours. They used the argument that it was for safety. I hate it when people use a lie just to sell you something at triple the price. If there technician is qualified to install the trailer hitch (same hitch) he should notice if there is any thing wrong and install it for a labor charge. After all it is in the same box that ours is in. Explore USA is the only company that we have talked to that has this policy. It's not about safety, it's about charging the customer triple the price. My hat is off to all the other travel trailer companies (everyone that we called) that don't have this policy. What other policies do they have to rake you over the coals? Explore USA has made the mistake that the customer is not smart enough to see the real reason for this policy. If it was about safety the other travel trailer companies would have the same policy. read more

Bought a 2013 Crossroads Elevation Brand New last year from Explorer USA Dallas, NOT the one this review is directed too. Hail damage is why it found its way to Explorer USA DENTON for repairs. Here we go... Nothing but PAIN and FRUSTRATION!!!!!! dealing with the Denton service department people. Our trailer was in there for 4 months! During that time I have had to deal with false promises,outright lies and wasted time on my part by making surprise visits to verify what they we're telling me was true. Which, never was until about 2 days prior to me finally picking it up. Also, having to pay for something we could not use during that time frame and missing 2 major Holidays and miscellaneous weekend adventures we could have been using it. They never call you back, never! During the 4 months it was over there and numerous phone calls I made to them and telling me they would check on it and call me back, NOT ONE TIME did they call me back. I always had to call them! Standard response I would here from them on why things we're taking so long is they we're cleaning up someone else s' mess, as in personnel problems which was their problem that turned into mine. The most ridiculous excuse I heard from them was, " The manufacturer doesn't make that part anymore!". Really?! A 2013 model you cant get parts for anymore? My trailer literally sat in the back of their lot untouched for 7 weeks after they replaced the roof, skylights and ac units. While it sat there the entire interior from front to back was COVERED in saw dust. NOTHING was covered up to protect the interior while they did the repairs, sawdust was on the beds, in the sink, in the shower, on the couch, the floors, the cabinets, the entertainment center etc. etc.. Vents hanging from the ceiling and a broken bedroom door that was not broke or had any kind of a problem before it was taken over there. That was discovered by my second surprise visit. I actually got into the the trailer and saw this prior to walking into the service department. I asked them the status of my trailer and was told everything was done and cleaned and that they we're only waiting on one part to come in to finish the trailer. I then asked the service writer assigned to my trailer to follow me to where the trailer was parked so we could "go over a few things". I opened up the door with him standing there and I said "Almost done and cleaned huh?". The service manager came out to where we we're shortly after and assured me that is not how they do business and this would be taken care of. More BS... I was told 3 different times over the next few weeks that the trailer would be ready to be pick up by the end of whatever week I was standing there which never happened. The times I showed up , UN-announced to see what was going on I heard the same story, all the parts are in we will get it cleaned up and taken care of. I would go back again a few days later UN-announced and find out all the parts we're not in and it was not even close to being done. Wasn't even touched or moved since the prior visit. The interior was still not cleaned and the bedroom door that they broke was still not fixed. These people will tell you what you want to hear but do not do anything they tell you much less in the time frame they tell you it will happen. No organization what so ever, no communication between management, service writers and technicians which I'm assuming is the reason for the "lies and false promises" or, they do know whats really going on and just don't care. In their behalf, which almost makes me want to puke that I have to put anything positive in this review. The work that was done (finally) does look good and it was cleaned up (to their standards not mine). We are taking it out this weekend so will see if it's "looks" match the "performance" of the repairs that we're done. To the people at Explorer USA Corporate who I hope see or hear about this review. Get your heads out of your ass and pay attention to whats going on at your Denton location... It's a joke. To the people at Crossroads Corporation. You make a great product but you might want to be a little more particular about who your giving dealerships too. If their service departments can't professionally support what they are selling your going to loose business. To future RV buyers. Research the dealerships service department before buying from them. The experience of a great sale of a great product is worthless when you have to deal with 100% bullshit when you spend THOUSANDS of dollars on something that should be bringing you joy and relaxation...not PAIN and FRUSTRATION. read more

This is for the service dept. I took my RV to Explore in Denton on January 24th, 2014 for warranty work. When I got there I was told I could not drop it because they already had to many on the lot for repairs. Told them I talked to service mgr. and made an appointment. He has since been replaced. I left it and gave them a list of repairs. They said they would call me and keep me posted. They never called. When I would call them, I was always told they were waiting on parts. I had two major repairs. One was a hydraulic leak and the other was the skin on the bedroom slide out had buckled. And several small things. When I showed up unannounced around the first of April, this is what I found. They replaced the skirting on the bottom of unit and not the skin on the slide out. They painted it and the paint did not match. They had to paint all of the skirting. Then I was told they FORGOT to order the part to fix hydraulic leak. Looking on the inside: they tore the carpet on the steps and knocked the thermostat off the wall. For some reason they had both air conditioners apart and doing something with the plumbing. Neither were on the repair order. I was told the reason the skirting was replaced is because it had a dent in it. It did not have a dent in it when I took it over there. They had to replace the carpet on the step but could not match it. They said they found some that was close. They did call and told us they cut a piece of carpet out from under the bed and put the non matching piece back under the bed. After getting the District Mgr. involved and 99 days later we finally got our RV back. We have bought two units from this place. Our salesman said he could do nothing to help us and the last time I saw him he would not even speak. I will not go back to this place for anything. read more

Buyer Beware!!! I have owned my Travel Trailer for less than a week and I regret stepping foot onto Explore USA Denton's property. To sum it up I already had a hitch system in place, just needed brackets mounted on trailer for WD bars, and the salesman says no problem to make sale and the Day I go to to pick up new trailer ( first time btw!) they say its corporate policy to not touch anything they don't sale. Long story short I was going to cancel sale and they do it. I take it out that day and get to park and fuse is not in battery, sewer hose not in underbelly, AND the power wasn't working on unit ( brand new 2016 model) I take back that Monday and they tell me it can be 4 weeks! I haven't owned it 72 hours! Talk to New Manager and she is nice and gives it to Master Mechanic and he finds that the 3rd shoreline power is completely not connected and the brake lines on trailer were off!! My family was in this thing!! I go to pick up and the service guy says go look it over and we go back and although he said it had power it didn't and we test the fixes and it doesn't work. I ask him what is going on and he says let me remind you that we put you to the front of the line!! What!!?? Not to mention sales guy who over promised on my hitch situation owed me $25 credit to store and I still have yet to get that or hear back. This place turned what was suppose to be a great first time big purchase experience for my family into a complete nightmare and regret. read more
