Pro: Great tasting soul food. I had the smothered pork chops, succotash, and the black-eyed peas. My wife had the Ox Tail, Yams, and the collards. Con: $6.50 for a 44 oz sweat tea.

The food is off the chain good. So many different wonderful main dishes with perfect seasoning. Today I had the beef stew with green beans and Mac n cheese. We actually ordered 4 different sides to try and all were delicious. They give large portions so if you are with a friend you could share a meal if you could agree on what to order. The staff are so patient while you go thru the line trying to make decisions. There is comfortable inside seating and it smells so wonderful like your grandmas house on a Sunday with all the fixings cooking. Run don't walk to this places. I'm so full and it was delicious

Meatballs, collards, yams all good tasting. Great choice of entrees. You name it, they have it. Relaxed atmosphere. Appears that there is a big demand for take-out. Pineapple lemonade terrific. Not too sweet. Quality food. Enjoyed this spot

Came here for lunch during my science monthly meeting. I got a veggie plate but my coworker got a turkey wing plate with mac and cheese and okra. The service was great and the restaurant wasn't very busy at all. It definitely has a soul food vibe and the food hits the spot. The yams are so good.

I order from them an hour ago on uber eats and was missing my meat balls had everything else but them .. how is that possible I paid $44 if u didn't have that meal you could've cancelled or called me .. very unprofessional

They greeted me as soon as I walked in, asked the right questions, and made me feel welcome. However, there was a young man who was incredibly rude. The first thing he said to me was, "What are you picking up?" I responded, "Let's start with a hello. How are you?" Instead of acknowledging that, he simply repeated the same question. At that point, I walked over to the ladies, who were extremely kind and helpful. Now, onto the food. I'm genuinely not trying to let my customer service experience influence my opinion, but I have to be honest--the food was pathetic. It lacked seasoning and flavor. Even after adding the salt and pepper packets that came with the utensils, it only made a slight difference. Unfortunately, nothing about the meal would make me want to come back. Even my one-year-old refused to eat it, which meant we had to spend even more money to get food somewhere else. The one highlight was the biscuit. I believe it was homemade, and it was genuinely delicious--probably the best part of the meal. Aside from that, I can't recommend the food based on my experience.

We ordered the shrimp and gouda grits, fried green tomatoes, crab cakes, and a couple of brunch cocktails. The shrimp and grits were beautifully presented, creamy, flavorful, and covered in a rich sauce that brought everything together. We thought for sure they would make us sit outside in that heat but we got a decent table inside towards middle. We arrived there about 11:40am and table was ready at noon we sat at the table after host seated us for 40 mins before even being offered water or anything. Our waiter (Nicole). Came to table when we first arrived just to tell us she would be with us shortly just for us to wait almost an hour. ATP we are starved and super thirsty. 12:38 she came to table to say "I'll be wit y'all in a few" and looked back to see the table behind us was her table too but came after us. So she finally took our order after realizing we were still waiting patiently. The food came out within 15-18 mins and was fresh. We had no complaints on the food at all other than my grits was a little lumpy. But still a great flavor. Everytime our waiter came back she seemed to be irritated or frustrated, but you shouldn't take that out on the customers specifically ones who have been nothing but kind. After we finished eating she brung a payment book with one receipt and said "is it ok that it's all on one receipt?" But it was more like she was telling us and didn't ask before hand and didn't even let us answer. She sat the receipt down and just walked out as we were answering. We planned to have 3 different checks because we were going separate ways. I called the manager over and he fixed it immediately and apologized for that. Some people just don't need to work in customer service. I get people have bad days but that was a bad experience for our first time there. Everyone else was super sweet except her. Atleast our food was good. Her customer service is definitely a 4/10. Even the table behind us was upset and requested a refund on the food. I would definitely go back just wouldn't want her as a server!

There is a cozy feel when you walk in and there are tables and bar seating. We sat at the bar so were able to get seated quickly. I ordered coffee and their corned beef hash omelette. I was very intrigued by this being an omelette. I had a choice for my side and picked hash browns. The food came out fast and fresh. It was all very good! The hash browns were more tender less crispy but were seasoned well. I really liked the corned beef hash omelette too! Given we were seated at the bar, we encountered most of the staff as they came to grab drinks and food from the kitchen and everyone was super friendly. Saying hi and making small talk as they waited on a payment to process or as they grabbed coffee for their customer. It felt very welcoming and cool. If you haven't been, I recommend adding it to your list, especially if you want a break from chain eateries.
