Had the best time today on the Deluxe Morning Napali Coast Snorkel Tour! I'm really glad we did it. The waves were super intense as we got farther west and north (it's December but perhaps it varies) and it was very windy. However in addition to the majestic views, we saw some whales, a ton of dolphins, sea turtles, seals, plus snorkeling. The captain and our crew were amazing!! The captain shared some fun facts and stories as we were cruising which added to the experience. The crew was super fun, friendly, helpful, and organized - cant say enough good things about them! My friends and I had an amazing experience with Blue Dolphin Charters! We had heard that seeing the Na Pali Coast was an absolute must when visiting Kauai, so we had to give the sunset dinner cruise a try. I was a bit worried because we went on a pretty rainy day, but once we got on the water, the rain started to subside. The captain was very professional and tried to keep the ride as smooth as possible. Everything was organized and taken care of from beginning to end. If you're looking for a booze cruise, though, this isn't it. While there are drinks being passed around, you're really there for the views, which were incredible! A great experience. We reserved the Na Poli coast tour, which we couldn't make due to winds, but they tried their best. However, Captain Evan pivoted and showed us the south side of Kauai to the best advantage. He and the crew (JR and Jayce) visited with everyone and offered local suggestions and history. Great interaction with customers. We saw 3 pods of whales, winter is a great time for people who want to see humpbacks. (lots of breaches, not just gently swimming by) When we stopped to snorkel, there was a turtle and a monk seal swimming in the area, plus lots of reef dewellers. Three stars for the crew, the refreshments, and the sunset on our Poipu Sunset Cruise & Seasonal Whale Watch. We saw spinner dolphins and whales from a distance. There was a LOT of time without much happening. This may have been our first whale watch without a naturalist on board. It will also be our last, as we'll make sure to only book future whale watches with a naturalist, as they add so much to the experience. The captain attempted to share some knowledge with us at first, so we were hopeful. Yet he kept talking about whales jumping instead of "breaching," and then, as the tour went on, his communication went downhill. To the point where he started driving the boat without telling people that he was going to do so. Another note: we lived being on a catamaran... but didn't know that was the vessel until we were about to board. Nor did we know ahead of time that there would be a requirement to take our shoes off before boarding. These both seem like important things to include in the information email. read more

From the booking process, check-in process at the harbor, and the entire time on the catamaran tour, our dolphin charters definitely exceeded my expectations! Wow...best day I've had in awhile. This was soooo incredible!! Our crew was Joe, JR, Chasen, and Lily. Second trip to Kauai but our first trip with BDC. We were blessed with what our crew said was "brochure weather." The Na' Pali coast was absolutely stunning and Joe was able to take us under a waterfall....exhilarating! We snorkeled, saw dolphins, lots of fish, a turtle, and breathtaking coastline. The entire crew was so attentive and friendly. Made us all feel very welcome, and made our day most enjoyable. This was the highlight of our trip. We had two captains on the boat. Luke and Naya. Luke really prepped us all the way about the trip, including water conditions, how to sit without getting sore the next day. Maya was of course prettier than Luke. She was always checking on the riders during the trip to make sure we weren't getting sick, our hands weren't sore from the rope, and not stressed out. She is a local of the island and knew a lot about everything. She kept asking me why I was looking sore, uncomfortable and perturbed and I explained I'm always like that! :-) I had a salad and it was really large and filling. Went on a Napali Coast cruise and snorkel trip with Captain Joe and his cool crew. Easy check in at 7AM at Port Allen. Make sure when you arrive you drive past the charter building to the dirt lot and park in the Blue Dolphin area. After a brief chat Captain escorted us a few blocks to the dock and boat. After a Coast Guard required chat we headed out. It's pretty early so everyone was quietly hanging out while Capt Joe gave some local info out on some of the sites and played some good cruising music. If you are in the front of the boat you will get wet and it can get windy in certain parts both coming and going. Capt Joe has some mad driving skill and was able to get us under a waterfall and into the mouth of one of the caves. After a stop for snorkeling the lunch was served and the bar was open. Lunch wasn't the highlight, sandwich, chips and slaw were adequate but not made by Roy Yamaguchi. But the homemade chocolate chip and coconut cookies made up for the blah slaw. Beer, Mai Tais and wine was served by the attentive crew all the way home. The price of the cruise is worth just watching Crew member JR balance the entire trip without touching a hand rail as he runs back and forth helping people up and down stairs. Great crew great trip. This was an absolute EXCELLENT experience and I would highly recommend it! I get motion sickness and am so glad I put on a scopolamine patch! And the captain said that they only get quiet days like we had 40 days/year. It did get "adventuresome" (captain's words!) on the ride back. Elia was an excellent captain and narrator. He was easy to understand and our group of 6 really enjoyed all of the history and information. All of the staff were so helpful, constantly checking to see if we needed anything, taking garbage and brining drinks. The boat was sparkling clean and there was not too many people on it. You could easily move around. Bathrooms were clean and spacious. Food was great! The fruit was nice and ripe. The cinnamon rolls were great as were the pork sandwiches. The snorkel spot that was chosen was our favorite part! My 4 year old was really cared after by the crew. They really paid great attention to all her needs. From a keiki snorkel that fit just right to even a slide to go down at the rear of the boat. Not to forget unlimited juice and cookies! Loved loved loved this! We took a sunset dinner cruise to the Na'Pali Coast. It was so beautiful. The staff was super friendly and they really made a point of connecting with everyone. They talked to my whole family, and learned our names. It was very warm and inviting. We went in June of 2024. We had friends that visited in February and said that they got really sick on their cruise. I don't know if they went with the same company but my understanding is that the waters are more choppy in the winter. We did buy dramamine to prepare for the trip and we all took it about an hour before the boat ride started. We all did fine but there were two gentlemen on our cruise that did not fare so well. There were some waves and it was windy. One woman on our boat had false eyelashes on and it was so windy that she was in danger of her lashes flying off. There was a lot of laughter about how strong the wind was. Lots of people got wet. We managed to stay mostly dry, it just depends on where you sit on the boat and the wind. J-Sea was our captain and the other two people assisting were Naya and OJ. All of them were so friendly and welcoming. I highly recommend this crew! I don't know about other crews but they were very good. J-Sea happened to know the folks who gave us surfing lessons which shows that its a small world and she highly recommended them. After looking at pretty much every tour in Hawaii, I'm so happy we went with Blue Dolphin. We did the Napali sunset dinner cruise and it was amazing! The highlight was the crew who took care of us. They were so kind and attentive, it made the experience very pleasant. They really take care of you from getting sea sick (which we did, which I usually don't feel sea sick but those are some choppy waters) to feeding us a yummy meal. The views are stunning and unreal. Once we reach the napali coast, you turn back around so it's good to take advantage of the views and photos as you're approaching. The sunset back to the port was stunning as well. We saw dolphins, goats on the edge of the cliff, and the beautiful mountains. I would recommend this tour and I would definitely go back and do it again. read more

A terrible experience. Within the first 15 minutes of a 5 1/2 hour trip, my wife explained very clearly she was sick and would like to return. She even said that we would be happy to pay for a boat to come out and retrieve her, so as not to inconvenience all the other patrons. The captain was completely irresponsible and said that nothing could be done because the trip had already been started. My wife had to be hospitalized to the tune of over $4,000, and the experience had a significant impact on the remaining three days of our trip. She was completely incapacitated for five hours. A horrible experience. I asked for a refund of two tickets because we were not able to take advantage of the trip whatsoever, and they have denied it and said in a response to our credit card company, that services were provided. They obviously are money driven, but do not care near enough about the quality of the experience for the patron, or their health. I would not recommend this company, or their charter. read more

Blue Dolphin was our family's favorite experience in Kauai. You couldn't be in better hands--their hospitality was the best on the island. Safety was the first priority but they made the whole boat ride fun! The crew (Capt. Jade was also incredibly helpful and kind in making our booking and choosing the right adventure for our family. We snorkeled, watched dolphins and whales up close, and saw the entire Na Pali coast including some mountains, waterfalls, caves, and beaches! Breakfast and lunch were excellent--absolutely no complaints! Food and drinks were plentiful and the crew was hasty with serving and making sure each family was well taken care of. First things first: meet n greet the captain with a safety preview before even boarding the boat. Then walking up to the boat with another safety briefing on the boat itself especially if your forward on the bow and gunwale. Life vests are provided as needed. Continental breakfast included along with a lunch. Open bar for those 21 years old and older. Comfortable seating on the entire boat with excellent views from any part of the boat.
