Wow, wow wow!!! first of all, after we walked in the hotel, the woman in the front said you look cold, have some hot wine. From there another person asked, would you like to take a picture underneath the lights with the Christmas tree. In other words, the service for the minute you walk in the Corinthian Hotel is phenomenal. I had the fish and chips was which was spectacular. The sourdough bread with the butter is probably the best sourdough I've ever had in my life. Lori had the strip steak, which was very good. But the fish and chips was this show stealer along with the sourdough bread. The wine and the Prosecco was spectacular. This place is definitely worth numerous repeats. read more

Tom Kerridge has a large beautiful restaurant in London that highlights his creative interpretations of British cuisine. I had the scotch egg, though instead of a sausage covering, it was encased in flaked cod and it was delicious. I also the lamb which was perfectly cooked. There's a great wine list and service was superb. If you're looking for good modern British cooking, this Bar and Grill is the place to go. read more

We've been coming to Kerriidges since it opened before COVID. In fair I wrote the very first review of this lovely spot of the well known Tom Kerridges. Of course he no longer cooks here but over the years has trained his staff to definitely deliver a fine product. Last night was no exception. Started with an array of excellent cocktails in the restaurant before dinner. When it was time to sit down, we were shown to a very nice large round table booth for the six of us. Everybody was really comfortable and gave us a chance to view out towards the rest of the restaurant - a really nice table. When I looked at the menu this time, I saw some old favorites and of course, some new dishes. They all had a sense of the old meaning the traditional, Tom, carriages type menu and a few that were missing sad but true, but gave me a chance and the rest of the group to try some new things I would say the food was a five everything was really really quite well. I would say the only missed step that kept me from giving the overall reading to five was a service. It wasn't bad. It just wasn't typical carriages restaurant that we were used to. Let me explain - almost all the other times the spirit was very attentive. They anticipated things we needed checked in on us several times really were thoughtful about the way they were serving us. And it's not that we got bad service it's just that we didn't get any attention and it's really a little ironic that the restaurant really wasn't very crowded last night for Wednesday. Don't know what happened. I'm sure it was a fluke and it wouldn't keep me from coming again as I said we really like this restaurant and I believe you should try it if you haven't already it's a winner. read more

For British fine dining, it's surprisingly accessible. As a restaurant in an old yet exquisitely kept 5* hotel, it has atmosphere up the wazoo yet doesn't go too crazy on price. The fish and chips, rather unusually, uses sole instead of cod, but it's so fresh you can hear it crackle as you cut into it. Friends enjoyed it although it wasn't the best they've had (particularly not if you consider the price), while the lamb I had was, likewise, very good, but not something so memorable that it would draw you back here. The fresh tomato pastry thing I had for an appetizer was superb, not something I'd seen elsewhere; perhaps a summer-only dish given the availability of fresh tomatoes? The dessert I ordered was a combination of gelatin and pastry and dried strawberries that was both innovative and almost exquisite. Likely something that this tourist was simply unfamiliar with, so maybe it's just me. Service was extremely knowledgeable, the wine list was extensive, and the collection of dry-aged beef to browse as a menu option further solidified the experience. read more

Kerridges Bar and Grill was not an intended stop. It was the stop on our trek to the London Eye on the hottest day of the year (at that point in time). It was here where we almost turned back. It was here where we recouped, strengthened, and rallied. The heat truly was brutal. We ducked into the bar which did have this old world feel - high vaulted fluted ceilings, large pillars with marble bases, and a mosaic tiled floor made it feel old. Daylight streamed in but cast odd shadows and the yellow light from the light bulbs mixed with the daylight clashed a bit. Our waiter was very prompt with our initial order and one refill and then we never saw him again. For all I know he could have melted. The drinks were stellar and the service was very polite taking pity on us running from the sun. I quickly drank a couple glasses of water while in between drinks. It was a nice oasis. read more

I give it 3 because it's standard and priced premium. The Sunday beef was over cooked and the potatoes had been sitting in the window far too long. The wine by the glass was insulting, both in price and pour. And patrons were wearing short pants - so obviously no dress code, thus another reason just not worth the price. You could have this Sunday lunch or dinner anywhere in the UK for much less. read more

If you perform search on Google for 'kerridge's bar and grill', the restaurant's own website appears with with the description: "A refined British restaurant by Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge, located within five-star hotel Corinthia London." Although Tom Kerridge holds Michelin stars at some of his other restaurants, located elsewhere, Kerridge's Bar & Grill at the Corinthia hotel does not hold a Michelin star. The restaurant have purposely use this wording in the HTML metatags of their website in order to ensure that this is displayed in Google and other search engines as the description of the restaurant: meta name="description" content="A refined British restaurant by Michelin-starred chef Tom Kerridge, located within five-star hotel Corinthia London." Some may view the above practice as misleading and deceptive. Prospective diners could incorrectly infer that the restaurant holds a Michelin star when it does not. I was looking for somewhere outstanding to take some key members of my staff for a Christmas meal and came across Kerridge's Bar & Grill. The restaurant has a private dining room which is described on the website as: "one of London's most beautiful dining experiences" Having dined as some of the world's leading restaurants and experienced other private dining and chef's tables in London with my team, I decided to book the private dining room at Kerridge's Bar & Grill for a Saturday evening in December. There were ten of us in total and our total spend was £4781.70 - nearly five-thousand pounds - not far off £500 per head. This also included a '15% Service Charge' of £623.70 that the restaurant automatically added to the bill and helped themselves to. You would think that for this level of spend, and service charge, you would have an amazing experience, with the very best food and service. After all, you can pretty much dine at any restaurant in the world for less than £500 per head. Whilst the food was nice, with each course being introduced by one of the restaurant's chefs, the front of house service was in our opinion very poor and not at all indicative of the type of service that you would expect for the money. We felt the service was unfriendly and robotic. We were not warmly welcomed. At no point did the front of house staff ask how our meal was or if we wanted any additional drinks. We were not thanked when we paid the bill prior to leaving. It felt like that our custom was not appreciated at all. Other private dining rooms and chef's tables from well known Michelin starred chefs that we have dined at in London have delivered a far superior service, really going out of their way to deliver a memorable, warm and welcoming experience. The waitress that served us seemed so miserable that it felt like she didn't really want to be there and that we were a mere inconvenience. In most quality restaurants, when you are paying this kind of money, the maitre d' or duty manager would come over to the table to say hello and to ensure that everyone was happy but that did not happen. We opted for wine pairings, chosen by the restaurant's sommelier, with each course. The sommelier was friendly but whilst one of our guests was pregnant and we had informed the restaurant that she would not be drinking any alcohol, I was still charged an additional £100 for wine pairing for this person. The pregnant lady wasn't asked if she would like non-alcoholic cocktails or other soft drinks in substitute of the wine pairing. She had to specifically ask to see a drinks menu. It wasn't clear who our contract with the restaurant was with. We were asked to sign Terms & Conditions when making the booking, and pay a £1250 deposit, but they did not make any reference to the name of the corporate entity that we were actually contracting with. The receipt from the restaurant shows a VAT registration number registered to a company called NLI Operator Limited whose ultimate parent company is IHI Plc, a company registered in Malta. The same company appear to own the Corinthia Hotel. I am not clear how much involvement Tom Kerridge actually has in Kerridge's Bar & Grill but based upon my experience, I would not wish to dine at another Tom Kerridge establishment again. It would appear that the restaurant is a hotel restaurant with some kind of brand licencing agreement. The 'Kerridge's Bar & Restaurant' trademark is owned by Tom Kerridge Media Limited. Looking at other online reviews of the restaurant, I can see that I am not the only diner to have received a similar poor service. I emailed the restaurant to provide my feedback and did receive a call from someone who said that "If I think I received a bad service" they would remove the service charge and also the charge for the wine pairings of the pregnant guest. I am still awaiting a refund of the service charge and incorrectly charged wine pairing charge. read more

When we first walked into Kerridges I was thinking I might have made a mistake in making this reservation. It felt a little stuffy, older world bankers vibe. It was anything but. The food was delicious, the service was impeccable and I wouldn't change a thing. My husband and I shared an appetizer of mushroom risotto. We were both thinking "I should have gotten my own". While it sounds like something you might see on any menu at a restaurant it is something special here. My main course was the Home Farm Lamb Rump and Belly, Stuffed Red Pepper, Courgette and Goat's Cheese. It was wonderful. I rarely eat everything on my plate but I did this time. My husband had an upscale version of Fish and Chips that he also loved. Although we were both full, we opted to share a dessert because they all sounded so good. We had the for the Dark Chocolate Pudding with Crystallised Malt Biscuit, Salted Caramel and Malted Milk Ice Cream. We loved that too but agreed the ice cream was the best thing on that plate. This is a pricey restaurant but worth every quid. Everything at Kerridges was top notch. read more

Fabulous reputation on yelp for this new restaurant. It happened to be across the street from the Citadines, we were looking for a easy venue for dinner ( no umbrella, underground or taxi). It was early 6:30 and I thought we could pop in before the dinner crowd. They were full.... but could we have a non-dining meal....they came back and worked something out. Our dinner was an hour and 20 minutes. Itwas mainly English dishes ...great since we had not had any English food yet! Based on the reviews here, we started with the mushroom risotto appetizer...unbelievable. Yummy brown bread, a creamy tarte amuse bouche. I had creamy white onion soup...superb...and a side of courgettes drizzling in lemon and feta. My husband had a pork cheeks pie that was a Ball on his plate...side of mash and a sauce. Other than being surprised that it was not a pie...it was good. Cream brûlée had a thick layer of carmelized sugar...with a tiny bowlof honey, bee pollen and a sugar crisp that was molded into a honeycomb. This was a great find just off of Trafalgar Square. Excellent food and the most attentive and knowledgeable service I have experienced recently. The decor and ambiance was really upscale yet really comfortable. We chose the side salads, rib of beef medium rare, the mushroom risotto (out of this world). The desserts were incredible too. I was told this was supposed to be a higher-end take on English classics. The space is large, dark, and comforting even though it can be downright confusing to get back to your seat from the hotel bathroom. Anyway, the 'amuse' was a small cheese and potato tart, which was creamy, salty, and pleasant. Claude's mushroom 'risotto' (with Daniel's crispy egg and aged parmesan) was a beautiful presentation with a fantastic and clever explosion of yolk and mushroom. The salt cod Scotch egg (with chorizo and red pepper sauce) was less successful and the sauce was far too sweet. The pig's cheek pie (with clotted cream mash, crispy black pudding, devilled sauce) looked beautiful before it was cut, but it was ugly and unappetizing once it *was* cut open. Tasted rich and heavy, like holiday stuffing, a salty mouthful that was too one-note. The cheek needed to be tenderer. The pie needed a dash of dimension with something like vinegar to cut through. The black pudding was fun, like black croutons in butter-creamed potato mash, but I didn't finish. The deep-fried fillet of sea bream and chips (with pease pudding, tartare, Matson spiced sauce) was standard fish and chips - nice, but trite. The fish tasted 'fishy' too; which, one ought to know, fresh fish does not. The English raspberry and gin trifle (with vanilla custard, candied hazelnut sponge) was quite classic in a small, clever form. Altogether, not a bad meal, even though it feels (and tastes) a little assembly-line standard. 3.5 stars rounded up. read more

Ambiance is great. Food is great! Food presentation was stunning! Service was B-/C+. Hard to get attention of anyone However, it is WAY overpriced for what you get. Fish and chips (£36.50!) was one small piece of cod about 8" long. Rib of beef (£39.50) was the size of an 8" pancake, somewhat fatty and over cooked. Desserts were very small and looked great£16.50, I don't think so! A shame such a fine name must use that to gouge customers! read more
