These are clearly coming from people who cannot appreciate his knowledge base and think that his job is to "play with puppies," or something else. He is there to treat diseases and any other issues that are breed specific. His staff is great as well, especially his lovely wife, Natalie.

I liked Lexi, the vet tech, who listened carefully while I explained my concerns. The tech trainees were also friendly, attentive, and careful when handling Mr. Hunter. Dr. Hasco was great -- very friendly, gentle, and I appreciated how he listened, carefully, to understand our concerns and Mr. Hunter's symptoms. In the end, treatment was minimal and seemingly effective and he's back with mom and doing fine but the visit offered some assurance and peace of mind while I had custody of Mr. Hunter. Finally, this is a veterinarian without pretense -- unlike, perhaps, some more fancy offices closer to Camp Hill (Im thinking of Good Hope in particular). There's no free coffee or fireplace but there are small bottles of refrigerated water; instead, the office is comfortable, clean, and efficiently run. I do wish there was a way to divide for noisy animals versus quiet ones but otherwise no complaints.

They include litter box cleaning in the service, which is also really helpful and they offer a lot of flexibility in what type of pet visits you need to schedule. Donna is most definitely willing to work with the pet owners and the communication was excellent. I also appreciate that Go Away Pet Sitting also has a good online tool for communicating, scheduling and getting updates as well as billing. All in all, we are very pleased and will definitely be using them again.

Our vet prescribed the usual prescription diet you'll find at most vet's offices, but I just couldn't get past the gut feeling that there had to be something better. As fate would have it, our dog walker referred us to Hershey Pet Food Company. John (and his wife) took the time to talk to me about our dog's diet, and suggested raw food. John is incredibly well-versed and researched in this area; coupled with, he put me directly in touch with one of the food company's owners to answer some additional questions we had. Three months later, I got the results of our dog's blood work back today and her levels have reversed! BUN is in a normal range (went from 41 to 30); creatinine went from 2.1 to 1.8. I am beyond overjoyed as our four legged gal is our first child and we want to keep her around as long as we possibly can. I'm a believer! I'd also like to add that the prices are very reasonable. I want to support our community and small business, but I also professionally talk about how to save money, so I had to do my research. Pet toys are around the same price as what I've seen on Amazon, and in some cases, a dollar or so cheaper. I would support their business regardless, but I think it's worth noting that you're getting so much more value for your dollar by supporting a community business and access to the information that John and Brandy have to offer.

My one cat was always terrified of the vet and yet no one mentioned that I could just pay for some gabapentin to give to her before she had to go and save both of us so much stress and trouble. I asked the doctor a lot of questions that I thought were valid such as taking fecal samples for my cats and discussing some digestive issues that my one cat was having and a cough that seemed concerning. My concerns were completely disregarded. Dr Hoefert said it was not necessary to take samples (even though the one cat had been living outside prior to being rescued) and the other cat probably just had "digestive problems, like humans do." I asked if my one cat could have crystals in his urine and that was also disregarded and never tested. I've since found out that my cat had a persistent UTI and also crystals in his urine. He is now being treated, thankfully. Both of my older cats died much too soon, and I truly feel that if I had been going to the right vet, their problems would've been caught quicker and I would've had them longer. I also want to mention that I observed Dr Hoefert being extremely rough with my one elderly cat when she needed a laxative. He shoved this enormous thing up her rear end and was not gentle about it at all. She immediately started vomiting, probably due to the pain. He could've been a lot gentler with her. I have since changed vets and I could not be happier to finally go to a clinic where they care about your pets and they listen to your concerns and they give you excellent advice. I live a block away from Northside and I would never recommend anyone go there. Instead, I prefer to drive further to go to a better vet.

With his years of practice he seems to know right away what the issue is. The staff is always great accommodating and gets us in quickly for sick calls.
