I'm a sucker for old timey movie houses, and Mount Vernon's Lincoln Theater certainly is a jewel of the Skagit Valley. Around since the 1920s, this theater comes from a time of old, but it is beautifully kept. At the entrance there's an old Ticket Window/kiosk, but you buy your tickets inside. In the lobby there is a cool little dvd rental store. Looks like they had some cool independent options on most of the shelves here. (you can also buy a T-shirt here as well). Inside the theater is where it's at though. They have an organ front and center, and they have someone play before movies if you're lucky to catch that. The theater is HUGE and there is plenty of seating (no balcony though) :( You really have to admire the decor inside. I caught a showing of the Robert Redford sailing movie All Is Lost here. It isn't a first-run show (think it came out a couple months ago), but it's one of those non-mainstream shows, and you have to give kudos for Lincoln for showing it. A quick glance of the crowd displayed more of the blue-haired variety (older folks have good taste!). One woman sitting in front of me was knitting something while watching the movie. And while the movie I watched was quiet and had minimal dialog, there were no pesky loud people talking during the movie (a pet peeve of mine), so we have excellent patrons here. If you're in the area, drop on by and tell 'em Corey sent ya!

This elegant movie theater captures Hollywood glamor from the past. Our seats lacked cup holders however. My husband and I went for an event showcasing Viva farms and got to sample delicious beers from the Brewing program and local ciders. We also watched a documentary about the farm enjoyed a question and answer forum. The Lincoln Theater was such an incredible venue for the event. Definitely will go back to see a movie soon. The theater sells artwork from local artists in a small gallery towards the front and boasts an impressive looking snack bar.

Thinking of those who have sat here and played in the past.

A lovely vintage theater house with an original Wurlitzer organ! I was fortunate enough to stumble into a tour of the theater during the street fair and am grateful. There was a friendly, knowledgeable gentleman telling the theater history and explaining all about the Wurlitzer organ. When Lincoln Theatre first opened back in 1926, it was showing silent films, and this Wurlitzer organ created all of the music and sound effects for them. I got to play the magnificent vintage organ and try all of the sound effects, I was geeking out hard, it's not something I will forget. Many thanks to the kind tour guide in the theater during the tulip festival street fair!

Beautiful theatre. Well put together. Rude concession staff. Poor customer service. First and last visit.

My friends took me here for my birthday. As tea ladies we go all over the state, different states,…read moreincluding different countries. We go to different places at least four times a year together, or on our own. One of the gals heard about White Branches on IG. I was surprised I never heard of the place. I've researched every place that's serves afternoon or high tea. It was at least a two hour drive each way for us but it was so worth it! When you first walked in the ladies said to me that this is my kind of place. That's because I'm a musical theater actress and when they saw all the items you can purchase that I wear they knew this place was for me. Then walking through the Alice in wonderland looking through the walking glass towards the theater. I felt at home like I wanted to step on stage and sing. I was overwhelmed by all the mask, tiaras, facinators, and gifts you can purchase because I wanted them all. I did spend a pretty penny, but I know that I'll wear them to all my events. But let me tell you about the food. So the last time we went to Victoria BC had high tea at the Empress we were all disappointed because it's not the way it used to be. The food was not impressive. Come to find out they have a new chef. Now White Branches...it was only Holly and Matt who is the owner working. The savories were delicious, the bread was so fluffy, the desserts were every single favorites of mine. They must've known I was coming. Every Mmmm that came out of my mouth. I could eat all my desserts because I was so full so I took them home for my snack. But the best part were the scones. My friend and I had to bring back the scones with the crunchy top that was sweet( I can't remember if it was peach) and soft and warm in the middle. So I took a couple home, my husband and one of my daughters ate them. Don't leave any for me...ugh! But my daughter who has traveled around the world because she's a flight attendant said that it was the best scone she has ever had. I hope Matt keeps that scone because next time we drive up we might order more to bring home. We are planning a spring time tea where will stay the night, see the tulips, then tea at white branches. Btw talk about tea, they had every flavor we loved. Also compared to a lot of the high tea places by where we live. White Branches prices are more reasonable that driving two hours away is worth it.

What a lovely spot, amazing service, atmosphere, food and drink. We came for a show but will…read moredefinitely be back for an afternoon tea!
