I like how most of his work is focused on Seattle landmarks done semi-abstractly and almost animated. The fine line between real and surreal. My favorite are the market scenes. The salesperson, Byung, was over-the-top helpful with our needs. All three ended up needing to be packaged and shipped to us in California. They arrived super fast and in good shape. We'll definitely will be back on our next trip to Bellevue. Can'y wait!

I saw a racehorse with jockey through the window of the Vue Gallery. They were closed at the time…read more My friend owns racehorses, so I thought she would like it. I texted a picture and she said she was interested. She has a Gerstein on the wall of her house, which I didn't know about. I went in the next day and loved all the Gerstein works, which I had never seen before. I purchased the racehorse for my friend and The girl on a bike for myself. Byung took great care of me and was to mail the 2 works in about 10 days, as we would not have been home to receive them. He took care of everything. We arrived home to California on Sunday and the 2 works of art came the next day. I would highly recommend this gallery. Byung is very personable and extremely helpful and honest. I would definitely purchase from them again.

I can't believe this place hasn't been reviewed yet! I went in for the first time last night and I…read moream so bummed that I haven't been coming here for all the years they have been in Seattle. Winston Wachter also have a gallery space in New York. They have 6 week long exhibitions of contemporary art. I love that it changes with just enough time for people to truly enjoy and marinate in the art. I went in last night to see Piper O'Neil and Robin Layton's work. My friend and I were the only ones at the gallery (my friend had a hard time finding the door, it's the one that's facing the main road; you just have to push the door in). Not only does the gallery exhibit some of the greatest artists of our time but it's also completely free. We were gushing about how envious we were of the Robin Layton's ability to capture so much in one picture and how she was able to pursue her passions. We were about to head out but I wanted to spend more time with a specific photo and then seconds later, Robin Layton introduced herself. It was truly surreal; I was fangirling so hard (she was voted top 8 photographers by LIFE magazine). They have two main exhibit rooms but if you decide to explore further, they also have smaller rooms with magnificent art pieces. For example, my friend really wanted to see Christopher Boffoli's artworks that Winston Wachter exhibited last month. When we went exploring, we found 3 Christopher Boffoli pieces hidden away in the corner. They have a receptionist type of desk in the front and the girl there can answer any questions you have. They also have a few books for sale as well as guest log where you can sign up for their emails. The whole space, the lighting, the "ART" sign outside, everything about this place is amazing.

Art is subjective, and thus the appeal of any show will depend on you, your current tastes, your current mood, etc., but Winston Wachter regularly has shows that genuinely interest and excite me, by terrific contemporary artists working throughout the pop-art to fine-art gradient. The space is open, well-lit and modular enough to allow for works of many scales. Staff are friendly, knowledgeable and professional.

My mother and I visited here as one of our first stop when arriving on Bainbridge Island recently, and we loved sauntering through and viewing all the crafts and art pieces made by local artisans. I especially enjoyed finding some pieces by an artist named Peter Koronakos, for example, who creates "oddball animals" assemblage pieces - my favorite on display being the "Squirrel with Hand Grenade". There was also a lovely Pileated Woodpecker carved piece by a Seattle-based artist named Mike Zitka (who, after I just Googled him, apparently has a feature collection currently going at KOBO Seattle - who knew!). Just some examples of the fantastic work available in this gallery. There's also a special section of the gallery that has for sale specific art and design books that the purchase of will support new material for the Bainbridge Public Library. How can you not love that?! All in all, it's a great, little gallery that I loved being able to support. Definitely stop by if you're in the area and show this local gallery - and the artisans that show their work here - some support. They deserve it. :)

Right from the start, the front desk staff was super warm and welcoming, giving us a breakdown of current exhibits and special events. ​While it's just two levels, it's packed with interesting pieces. One of the best parts is that it operates as a non-profit and takes zero commission from the creators, meaning all the artwork is for sale to support the artists directly. They had a variety of different pieces so that there is something for everyone. ​The museum was created by one of the original co-founders of Adult FriendFinder. The lower level displays his personal artwork and details his journey toward finding meaning through art. Overall, it was a memorable visit, and I'd recommend it to anyone with an appreciation for art!

Plus there are plenty of other activities: - Bellevue Arts Museum (BAM) offers free admission along with a KIDSfair consisting of mini hands-on projects. - Bellevue Square hosts performances at a BAMboozle Stage outside of Macy's and at a Sound & Movement Stage inside at the center court. - Chalk It Up on the road outside of BAM is reserved for free-style art. - Food vendors are available to purchase meals, snacks, or drinks. It's a great annual event to spend an afternoon at, especially if you are a fan of art!

This is a somewhat difficult spot to find with one way streets in the area…read more The Lawrimore Project is a venue for art installations that need a larger space. They don't fit into the business model of a commercial gallery, because well, they wouldn't likely fit in your living room. That makes it all the more valuable as a rare opportunity to regularly see changing installation shows. It's a project of architects who make art and installation too. Through an impressive industrial door is the main room. Further back there is a small artist book shop and smaller galleries, one sporting a kitschy fireplace. It's perfectly in place and out of place at the same time. Lawrimore is revisiting its business model, always a tough call in the art world, see it soon, before they close. Oh, FREE too.
