Just a quick shout out to the young lady who helped me out and sold me nothing! I have shopped here on several occasions, but I am hardly a big spender or frequent jewelry shopper. The leather watch strap on my Shinola finally broke and so I naturally went to my local jewelry store to see about a replacement. I was greeted with a friendly smile and how can I help you? After asking my question, she said oh we don't carry leather watch straps. Sorry. That could have been the end of it. But no, she asked what kind of watch, I handed her my watch with the broken strap. She quickly recognized it as a Shinola and asked do you know that these straps can be changed by the owner and you can change straps. Uh no...sheepishly. She proceeded to show me how to remove it simply and easily. Then she showed me on her computer how to find straps on the Shinola website. She measured my broken straps and wrote the measurements down on a sticky along with the website address and handed it to me. She said, you can order them yourself or if you like I will order them for you. I explained that I had already wasted enough of her time; I thanked her graciously and took my leave. read more

My daughter and I paid a visit to Blue Heron to purchase a birthday gift for my granddaughter for her very special 16th birthday. The person that greeted me was Kate. We sat down and had a chat and I showed her my stuff. As we discussed options, she frequently reminded me to "think about it" before making any decisions. I very quickly called Blue Heron and they had me send pictures of what was inside the package.. My husband purchased my engagement ring there--they were willing to order in difficult to find settings in to see if I liked them--and gave us a bottle of champagne to celebrate! We came back for our wedding bands and ordered his there and had mine custom designed and made to our specifications. Jessica and all of the staff were so helpful and great at helping find the right ones for our taste. I had my engagement ring repaired by Jennie at Blue Heron and she did an amazing job. The main stone of my ring was loose and it ended up that the setting wasn't supportive enough of the stone and would need some additions to it. Jennie realized that what she had originally planned to do for it wasn't going to work and quickly came up with a new plan to order a new head for the setting. She had it done in a few weeks time and it looks amazing!!! I'm so happy to be able to wear my ring again. My new husband and I also got our wedding rings through Blue Heron. Bradley was the main person who always helped us whenever we came in. He was super awesome, knowledgeable, and honest with us. They ordered mine through their catalog and adjusted it to the right size and it's perfect. My husband got his through the Lashbrook company they sell and they helped us custom order it through Lashbrook and made sure it would arrive on time. Overall so happy with all the work done for us and would definitely recommend them in the future and will definitely go there again if we need it! read more

What do you do when your wedding ring gets stuck on your finger three days before your wedding? You hope you live near Blue Heron Jewelry! These folks were so wonderful to us! I had commissioned the ring from a family member who lives across the country. So when the ring got stuck behind my right knuckle, we stopped by their shop, hoping they might have some ideas. We discussed cutting the ring -- they showed us the ring-cutter and described how it works and how they'd fix the ring once it was cut. However, they explained that because of the sort of lacework pattern in the ring, once it was cut, the fix might end up showing. So we took their advice and went home to see if we couldn't get it off. It finally came off that night (thank goodness), and their goldsmith, Sarah worked on it for us the very next day! The lacework patterns on the ring was going to make it difficult to stretch -- there was the potential for it to tear if stretched too much, but their goldsmith found a really clever work around. Now it fits absolutely perfectly and looks perfect too. I had started to brace myself for not being able to use my wedding ring on my wedding day, and was just feeling miserable about that, but these folks totally saved the day. You know you've reached adulthood when you start buying jewelry at an actual jewelry store and not the costume jewelry you typically find in a department store. I'm in my early 40's, and jewelry has never really been my thing. So imagine my surprise when I walk in the store and necklaces, earrings, and gem stone rings start catching my eye in more than a pie in the sky kind of way. My first visit to this store was to help hubby get a new battery in his watch. Suddenly this jewelry store was on my radar. I made a quick observation of what they carried and left none the wiser, except that I immediately felt comfortable being there. Too many times the minute I step into a jewelry store I have the feeling of being sized up before even reaching a counter. Here, I felt a much more casual approach that put me at ease. Fast forward a month later, I decided to return to the place to find a gift for my dear hubby. The customer service was wonderful. I feel like the owners are also there walking around answering questions. I don't know for certain that's who they were but when my sales person had a question about an item I was interested in, she went to them. The owners and the sales staff provide a down to earth, no pressure atmosphere. That is right up my alley for two reasons: 1.) The jewelry items quality and uniqueness speak for themselves. Don't need pushy sales people to try to convince me. 2.) I can detect phony niceness a mile away. The genuineness of my sales person helped me to stick around to finish the entire sale. And you know what? My hubby loves his necklace! I feel like the coolest wife to be able to buy my sweetie something of quality. Last fall, my then-boyfriend and I came to Blue Heron Jewelry to shop for an engagement ring. My boyfriend wanted to find something unique and special. Cathy was the most patient, sweet helper with good insight and listening. We selected an absolutely perfect engagement ring and wedding band, both of which the store sized same-day! The whole experience was so much more low-key, personable, and frankly enjoyable than either of us anticipated, and we officially got engaged in-store upon picking up the rings. Cathy and everyone else present made it feel even more special with their excitement, sending us off with some little goodies, including a bottle of champagne! We returned in the weeks following to pick out my then-fiancé's ring. Cathy helped us again, and she was every bit as wonderful as last time. We ended up with a Lashbrook-designed ring that was already perfectly fit for him. The design was not at all what he initially had in mind, but we both loved it from first glance. Prices were absolutely reasonable, especially for the quality and uniqueness. Neither my now-husband nor I are super into jewelry, but we both LOVE our wedding rings. Service here is phenomenal. I could tell there was something different about the jewelry there the moment that I walked in; it was all so beautiful and unique. I met Leo, not knowing at the time that he was the one who makes it all, and the rest of the staff who were all very friendly and helpful. They helped my friend look at all kinds of beautiful pieces.
