It had been awhile since I had been there and was glad to go back. They have some interesting options. I had a medium cup with 2 flavors-key lime pie and strawberry cheesecake both of which were quite good. The key lime is a favorite flavor of mine-love the tart taste and the gelato captured it. The cheesecake flavor was good but it was the key lime that I really loved. They have so many interesting flavors that it is hard to choose. The shop has over 20 flavors to choose from, with some non-dairy and many gluten-free options. I usually get a small cup with chocolate and honey lavender cinnamon (yes, up to 2 flavors per small). My partner really likes the waffle cone with butter pecan. The flavors always are fresh and the texture creamy. We love the ice cream and creativity of flavors an ingredients. Our only complain would be the to-go pints etc. are so loosely packed. In addition to a number of samples (Mango Basil stands out) I had four different flavors. I might have tried more but once I had a combo of Pineapple & Coconut, there was no going back. I stopped in for the first time yesterday, and I'm so in love with this gelato. The shop is simple and small, but the gelato is excellent and overall experience here was really great. The man behind the counter (I'm sorry to say I didn't get his name) was enthusiastic and encouraged us to try nearly every flavor in the case -- something I always want to do, but never feel like I can! The gelatos are so delicious, absolutely bursting with flavor. There were a bunch of chocolate flavors, but the hands-down best was the "Mint to Be": a chocolate mint with a subtle orange flavor. I could eat that every day and never get sick of it. Other chocolate standouts included the Chocolate Amaretto (dark chocolate with almond), Italian Tagalong (chocolate peanut butter), and Gianduia (chocolate hazelnut). Other flavors that wowed me included the blueberry cardamom, the vegan(!!!) sweet potato and coconut (it tasted like the best pumpkin pie), and the fig mascarpone. We're told that the flavors change on a regular basis, so I'll definitely be stopping in again to enjoy Blue Ice again! read more

Delighted to have a new gelato place in the neighborhood. My kids love the cookie butter gelato. I was captivated by not one but two ginger gelato (lemon ginger and chocolate ginger) both were legitimately ginger-y. I will be hard pressed to order anything else to explore the other options! But never in all my years have I had better gelato than at Blue. Seriously. Blue offers your typical flavors but also lots of adventurous ones as well. The flavor profiles taste like their natural ingredients and not artificial ones. Take for instance, pistachio. The color isn't electric green like what you might see elsewhere. It is consistent with the color of the actual nut. The gelato is light, airy, yet creamy. All components of their production process and perfected ratio of milk and cream. Dan, the GM, is very knowledgable and passionate. Apparently Blue is the only gelato establishment in Arizona certified to pasteurize its gelato. No wonder it tastes so fresh! After a sushi meal at Ginza, my group was still quite hungry. A quick Yelp search brought this little place to our attention so we gave it a try... HOLY COW best decision of my weekend! Parking: giant lot shared with Basha's Service: amazing, the manager (didn't get his name but he is featured in the Yelp photos) has amazing service! He is so passionate about the gelato. They're know for having some creative flavors, which they didn't have much of on my stop. I did find out they remove gelato that's almost gone, maybe a small/medium cup, so if you don't see what you want see if they have any in the back. The blueberry cardamom and chocolate strawberry were well balanced. I didn't try too many this go around but everything was very good. I love their infusion methods and ingredients. I'm glad it's a bit of a drive or I'd go way more often. The location is nestled between a couple restaurants in the west side of the parking lot. There's plenty of parking too. read more
