I am a big fan of screaming handcrafted ice cream. Since they originally opened, I normally go to their Speedway location but today I found myself in Marana and remembered to stop by and get a scoop. It wasn't very busy at 1 o'clock, but after I got my ice cream. Several customers did come in. The staff was pretty minimal, but I was served pretty quickly and was treated with politeness and kindness. This is one of my favorite ice creams in town and it's made in Tucson with local ingredients. They have two honey flavored ice cream creams. Both are so delicious. Those would be my pics if you wanted to get my recommendation. They had a special cherry chip for February, Valentine's Day, and so I picked that today. I took some of the honey ice cream home from my husband. I think every location in town is fairly small with the largest being on Congress( Downtown ). I came in on Sunday late afternoon and the place was empty. Half the freezers were broken so there was only half the selection of flavors. I got a small scoop of Mississippi mudpie for $5. It was a bit overpriced as the ice cream wasn't that great and had a grainy texture. There's some stools to sit on along the wall and counter. read more

I loved the rocky road ice cream and my friend had the pumpkin spice flavor. Tasted so good except we sat right under the aor conditioner unit so we were freezing by the time we were done. Been to this location a few times. The staff is nice and options are solid. A regular scoop on ice cream is 5.75 but is a solid 4 ozs. Ice cream was creamy, rich, not too sweet. It's hard to find good old fashion hard ice cream these days. Everything seems to be gelato or soft serve. It was wonderful to see a place like this around. Plus my dog really love the vanilla. After my friend asked for a third sample, she sternly said, "that's your last one." I had asked for one sample. The third person in our party had none... not sure what her problem was. Creamy, wholesome (I don't use that word a lot, but you can tell they use top-notch ingredients and you can also see behind the counter what ingredients they used). My first visit the other day I had a shake, coffee toffee, and it was fantastic! Great coffee flavor, toffee bits complemented but did not overwhelm the coffee ice cream flavor, and were ground up finely so as not to impede the ability to drink through the straw. The next night (yup, two consecutive), I got a double scoop of strawberry and vanilla. Just as good. Really could taste fresh strawberry and the vanilla was smooth and tasty, what a great combo! And the proprietor/manager guy is great! Very personable and helpful. I really appreciated that when I ordered the shake with another customer behind me, he completed my order instead of starting the mixer and attending to her and getting back to me. There are still no free samples available due to the Chinese Communist Party's Weaponized Bat Virus Pandemic. But, I was willing to try new flavors based upon the strength of my previous selections. Tonight I went for 2 scoops in a cup. Triple Play and Coffee Toffee. The chocolate brownies and chocolate chips in the chocolate ice cream in the Triple Play were INCREDIBLE.
