We haven't been here in awhile due to a past not so great experience, but Blue Iguana is consistent on a lower quality of food over the last year or so. I had the chicken and shrimp Diablo tacos and they were dry and very small portions. What surprised me most was that they didn't remove the shrimp tails inside the taco. Also , beware of ordering a top shelf margarita, they'll charge you $18 for the drink and charge another $12 for a shot. Sneaky waiters. Given the time of night that me and my wife went, they were having live music playing (Tuesday & Thursday), the service was pretty good. The food was delicious and so was the Mezcal margarita. The only thing two negative things that I have to say are: 1: this was the first time I've been to a Mexican or Tex-mex restaurant that did not do anything for people celebrating their birthday. 2: the bus boy should not have to help the waitress with taking a customers order. The Blue Iguana has really been going downhill lately. I just removed my 5 star rating I posted from a few years back. In the last 3 or 4 months , it has not been the same. This used to be our favorite place to eat and to take people when they came to visit us . Definite not anymore. It seems like there has been all new staff, young kids , and they don't seem to care about good service . From the hosts to the servers , it is very disappointing. We have had several orders wrong whether we call it in or are there in person. There's little to no attention to customers needs. Hopefully someone turns this place around to how it used to be before it's too late. read more

On Friday Evening my Wife and I met up with my Son (Daaron) and Family (Steph, Chris, Tyler & Jaiden) at the "Blue Iguana Taco House" in Magnolia. My Son and his Wife were there once and wanted to check it out again. We LoVe Mexican Food, especially TACOS. It took us a while to get there because GPS said it was only 27 minutes away, but in reality it was more like 45 minutes - but we made it. Walked in and we were the first ones there. My Son is on the way with his Kids and his Wife will join us later (stuck at work). Kike is our Server and we ordered our drinks. My Wife and I are having 22oz Draft Beers, Miller Lite & Coors Light. My Son is having a Jumbo Rita, Chris, my Grandson, ordered a 'Liquid (joint)' (malibu rum, light rum, flue curacao, melon liqueur, pineapple juice, sweet & sour) & water for the two others. When Steph arrived, she also ordered the 'Liquid (joint)'. Before we ordered our food, we enjoyed our drink, ate their Chips & Salsa (spicy), and chatted for some time catching up on everything. Steph arrived and it's time to order. My Wife is having a "Fish Taco"; Grilled Tilapia, Cabbage, Cream Sriracha Sauce & American Cheese. I am having "Carbon Combo Tacos"; 1-Beef, 1-Chicken Fajita Tacos with Pico & Guacamole on Flour Tortillas (choice). Served with Rice & Charro Beans. Daaron & Steph, each, are having the "Chimichanga Beef Fajita"; Large Flour Tortilla filled with Ground Beef, served with Rice & Beans, Guacamole, Chile con Queso & Sour Cream. Jaiden went with the "Enchilada Dinner"; 3-Enchiladas filled with Cheese, Ground Beef or Shredded Chicken topped with Gravy & Cheese. Served with Rice & Beans. "Diablo Combo Tacos"; 1-Chicken Diablo, 1-Shrimp Diablo & Avocado, served with Rice & Beans - and - "Nacho Tacos"; 3-Crispy Tacos, Ground Beef, Refried Beans, Queso Sauce, Lettuce, Tomato, Sour Cream & Jalapenos - were also ordered but I don't know who (Chris & Tyler - one or the other). When the food came out the Aroma was amazing - time for another round of drinks. The Food here is really, really good. Not just us saying that but this place is packed - and packed - with people at every table and the Bar is filled - and more are waiting to get in. My Wife LoVeD her Fish Taco and said it was one of the Best, if not the Best, she has had (picture is blurry, but you can see how big that fish is). My Carbon Tacos were Excellentlylicious - love the Flavors and Seasoning. Everyone else enjoyed what they had and ate it all. One of my favorite establishments! My husband and I wandered in shortly after we moved to Magnolia. It was a quiet evening. We had great food, I enjoy the white donkey burrito, fantastic margaritas. Used to be a regular, 1-2 times a month. Went yesterday with family and requested to move seats due to a large amount of flies where we were sitting and the server then proceeded to make a comment to her friend in Spanish about how there are flies everywhere and what do we expect, thinking we only speak English. Guess what, we speak Spanish. Also my child's high chair broke while she was sitting in it not moving. Poor service, food is ehh, and flies everywhere that they are obviously well aware of. What has happened to hygiene requirements for food servers? I see this a lot, not just at this restaurant. Last night our server had 3 inch long fake nails. No telling what was trapped under them. Beverages are Coca-Cola products, beer, a small wine list and mix drinks Great lunch menu and dinner menu. My go-tos are the Señorita and my husband loves their fajitas. We went here because they are always busy and so it must be good right? Went with the kids, and the parking lot was full, but there was no wait. The inside was very spacious and had cool decor. The wait staff was quick and friendly and checked in regularly to make sure you were doing good. The food was amazing and fairly priced. The only thing I wish they had were booths (it's just easier with kiddos), but they only had the traditional tables and chairs. Overall highly recommend and would definitely go again. read more

We were seated right away. They have a large outdoor patio and it was quite full when we showed up. The service was good. The food was also good. I ordered fajita beef tostados and sliced avocados (since the guacamole has tomatoes) The tostados had quite a bit of fajita meat and were very good. I would order them again! My husband ordered Diablo tacos. One with shrimp(bacon wrapped around it) and a chicken taco(bacon wrapped around it) with rice and beans. He said the shrimp taco was very very good and chicken one was good as well. He liked the shrimp one the best and would order both again. My hubby said the rice and beans were like every Tex-Mex restaurant good but not great. We did not order drinks this time but they did look delicious. All of the tacos we ordered were good, but my favorite was the shrimp Diablo! They were flavorful and filled nicely. Our margaritas were tasty but not too strong which I guess we should have expected during happy hour... The stand out for both of us were the chips (and salsa)!
