Even though I didn't meet the goal, I am still very satisfied with my result because not only do I feel stronger but I also have more energy throughout the day. When I first learned about the Camp from a friend, I wasn't sure I would be able to do it. I have always been intimidated about going to a gym because I wasn't comfortable in my own skin and always assumed and the fit people working out would judge me. But this was not the case at all at The Camp. There are people of of shapes, sizes and age who are taking the workout class and breaking a sweat right along side you. The energy of the Camp is unlike a traditional gym. The best time to go is in the mornings when the lights are off and the dance lights are on. The trainers play upbeat and energetic music that helps you keep the rhythm of the exercises. The athletic trainers are great and can tailor the workouts individually if necessary while still delivering the heart rate necessary to burn calories. The front office staff is really friend and always super helpful, answering any and all question you may have.

The community here is so supportive the coaches Carina & Jose are welcoming, knowledgeable, and supportive. In my 23 years of living in this area I've joined countless gyms, camps, small workout studios etc. This is the first gym that is so different in so many ways. It's the first gym that took the time to ask me about my fitness goals, they learned my name and a little bit about myself so they could help me reach my goals. Most all other places only cared to speak to me when payment was due and never bothered to memorize my name, much less my weight loss goals. The group of members that come to Mamba are different than most gyms. There's a sense of community where everyone who I have met and encountered, has been sweet, helpful, welcoming. A little more about the workouts, they are constantly improving their equipment and changing up the workout routines so that they are interesting and challenging. During your workouts they will make sure you push yourself, while supporting you so you see results and progress. At other gyms I've gotten so bored that they do the same exact workout every week with no changes, you won't see that here; something new to you every week to try and challenge your body so that you see results. I can honestly say that in my mid 40s I am now not only feeling slimmer than ever but I'm feeling stronger than ever and that part to me is priceless.

They have 5:30 am and 8:30 am, but they do have a ton of evening classes. I highly recommend taking classes with Christian O., especially if you're new. He does a great job at explaining the workouts beforehand and going around the class to make sure you're doing the exercises right. He is so patient. The other con is the parking. It can be a bit tight, but I just go early so I don't have to stress about it. The classes are worth it! If you've been wanting to try CrossFit but feel intimidated give Backyard CrossFit a try!
