Did a bit of Yelping to find a good indian restaurant in downtown Atlanta and could not be more happy with this selection! We ordered a simple dinner with naan, two vegetable curries (saag and korma), rice and dal tadka. We asked for it to be spicy and it was SPICY! Everything was so good - felt like we were in NJ. Quantity was also perfect for five people. Prices are also like any other indian restaurants. We came an hour before closing and we were able to order everything we wanted (except dessert but that was also okay bc we were soo full from the food). The only reason we tried this place was because we had friends in town attending a conference downtown. I would only go here if you are restricted to the downtown/midtown area and Tabla is closed! As someone that have loved curry my entire life and also make a great curry myself, I am usually very hard to impress with Indian restaurants. However Blue India did not disappoint at all. The fish moilee curry was delicious. Right amount of sweet and spicy. They inlude lightly grilled onions with the basmati rice which I didnt eat but I appreciated the flavor. The naan and roti were pretty good. the roti was slightly burnt but just the edges. The service was decent. Quick and attentive but not over the top great. After attending a show at the Fox Theater, my group and I visited this restaurant for dinner and were treated to an array of delightful dishes. The establishment maintained impeccable cleanliness and the staff provided exceptional service. Although we arrived later than planned, the waitstaff graciously accommodated us, allowing us to savor our meal unhurriedly, which was much appreciated. I opted for the vegan aloo gobi curry, and we started with the masala fries and samosa appetizers, both of which were delicious. Having resided in Atlanta for over 18 years, I can confidently say this is one of the finest Indian restaurants I've experienced, and I eagerly anticipate my next visit. I met a vegan friend here for lunch. This restaurant is on the lower level of a high rise building so it's difficult to see from Peachtree Road. It's in the Metropolis condo building. I walked from my office but if you are driving then paying for parking in the adjacent deck will be necessary. I am not sure if they validate for free parking. The decor is beautiful and upscale. Service was friendly and attentive. The food was delicious and the portions were generous. The appetizer of Juhu beach bhel was unique and delicious! I have never had an appetizer like this before. So every place I go I make it a point to try Indian food since I'm Indian lol. After reading a lot into some of the best Indian food in Atlanta, "blue India" stood out the most. The quality of the food looked delicious, the reviews looked great so we had to go. We went on Sunday around 9 pm or so. Had a table for 3. Started off with some pani puri, some lamb chops and then ordered chicken tikka masala, shrimp tikka masala, garlic naan and of course cheese stuffed naan. We also added an order of goat Briyani. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious and cooked exactly the way we wanted as far as the spice went. This is a great establishment with great food, great service and awesome drinks. After having a craving for Indian food for what seems like the past 6 months, I finally got my itch scratched! Atmosphere: Blue India is an Indian restaurant located in the city with great modern flare. I love the colors of navy blue and gold and the Edison lighting that they chose for their decor. The atmosphere works well for any of a business, romantic, or casual dinner. Food/drink: Ordered the Papadum, Aloo Tikki, Lamb Rogan Josh, Chicken Biryani, and Bullet Naan to eat and the Rosemary Gimlet and Blue Old Fashioned to drink. The Papadum was seasoned "yummy-ly" (yes, I just made that word up) and perfectly fried. The Aloo Tikki was my least favorite, the presentation was nice, but I could have done without the ginger-blackberry compote or the puffed rice that came with it. The Lamb Rogan Josh and Chicken Biryani were wonderful and full of flavor, spice, and tender pieces of meat. The Bullet Naan was definitely spicy and not for the faint of heart when already eating spicy entrees (lol), but it was good. Lastly, both cocktails were delicious and I particularly enjoyed the Blue Old Fashioned with the blackberry brandy and black cardamom syrup flavors being the perfect additions to this cocktail. Service: The server was polite and friendly and satisfied all requests so that was good. One downside is the restaurant only validates parking in the deck for 1 hour (womp womp), but overall this spot definitely makes my list for good Indian food ITP. read more

Love love love eating here! This was my 3rd time coming, and I always get the veggie or chicken curry korma! It's nice and flavorful! Thick, but not too thick and it comes with rice. The garlic naan is a must, especially with the curry! The paneer I believe is like a cheese with sauce and veggies (cabbage, onion, and bell pepper?) It's spicy! So if you're not a big spice person, I would not recommend this dish. The space is nice and big, kind of dark for dinner time but during the day, it's perfect! The servers are always attentive and makes sure everything is good. Especially during this time, it's nice, clean, and spaced out. They also give you hand sanitizer when you're seated. Been here twice as it's one of the few Indians restaurants in midtown. I can say as a local, this is above average Indian food. I arrived there with 3 members but parties of 2 were seated much faster without reservations. I had a reservation but still had seating after those who didn't. We asked to move our seating as it right in the corner near the restrooms yet there other tables that were available for group 3 open. The server didn't know some the dishes on the menu. Each time I came, Pani Puri has never been available and the chicken 65 had oil residue. The vegetable birani was a great portion but more on the expensive side. The naan was great. We had a Hyderabad tikka assorted which included lamb, chicken, shrimp kebab. The lamb was very hard to cut through and eat. Inside, there is a pub and dark walls with great space in between tables. The ambiance is more dark moody and a lot of cutlery and dish sounds. There are only few Indian restaurants in midtown so I glad this one is open to many college students near by. read more

Yikes, terrible experience here tonight- and for our anniversary none the less. Should have heeded all the terrible reviews regarding service but, alas. Arrived with a reservation on a Thursday night, and the host was confusing when telling us there was "issues" and that we "could have a seat but would have to wait 5-10 minutes", confused we sat for 10 mins before placing our order and same male host/waiter never asked again about a reservation. Food came out very quickly but waiter came with our check literally 5 mins after getting our meals. Returned to the table 4x in less than 10 mins to check if we had paid. So uncomfortable and unwelcoming in a restaurant to be rushed out at 7pm when there are plenty of others tables just seated/ not received food. We scarfed down food and took the rest to go because it was terribly odd and rude. I've also never had a server hawk over you to sign the receipt and leave a tip (????) though ours did that, too. Literally inspected our receipt at the head of our table and did not say thank you, goodbye, nothing. Food was fine but what a terrible experience at what we thought would be a nicer, more special dinner spot in Midtown. Would never go back to Blue India. read more

The place was very lively, and it was comfortable. I ordered a chicken entree from the "Oven" menu, but it was like a chicken fajita. Three pieces of chicken thighs on a bed of grilled bell peppers and onions, mixed with shredded cabbage. The description of the dish was not what I expected when I read and ordered it. This review is based upon delivered food, Uber Eats. Without question...this was the absolute most disgusting concoction of food I have ever....in all my years of global travel, ever seen much less tried to consume. It was utterly inedible, both orders of curry in their containers were under 2 solid inches of oil, the naan, if you can call it that was absolutely drenched in oil as well. Not sure what it's like dining in, but if this is what they put in the food, you may want to look elsewhere, or choose to have a VERY difficult next several hours. Additionally, if a delivery order is scheduled, put some eating utensils in the order, especially if delivered to a hotel. I can only imagine if they are cutting corners on a .25 plastic utensil how much they are cutting corners on the food, cleanliness and staff.
