Over the past two months, the service has been consistently unacceptable. I've had to provide pictures of my clean filters and also provide video footage from my security cameras multiple times to prove that scheduled visits were never completed. On another occasion, an employee falsely claimed they came to my home when they did not, and once again I had to rely on camera footage to prove it. Despite this, there was no meaningful follow-up, and my pool was left in poor condition over the 4th of July weekend. What's even more concerning is that when it came time to honor the "free month" they advertised, my service was cancelled instead. Promising a promotion and then cancelling service when it's time to deliver on it is not just disappointing--it's misleading. This has been an extremely frustrating experience, and I would strongly caution anyone considering this company to think twice. Very disappointed. Used Blue Koi for almost four years . Thought we had a "good relationship" even though we had a million pool guys come and go. After another situation w our leveler, and reaching out to Victor to finish the job, we were treated so terribly via text. They accused us of being terrible customers that they had to work with us on waiving late fees etc. I have been late twice in 4 years, each time no more than a couple days late and also let them know in advance I would be a couple days late. Never once was charged a late fee or even mention of a late fee, as I paid on time. She lied. I sent screenshots of my payment history and haven't heard back since. She also accused us of using profanity in text messages. I have screenshots of our convo, no profanity used at all. More lies. It seems like the wife is a bit dramatic and a liar at that. After many many month of great service my tech was removed and replaced with a new one where i had nothing but problems from not testing equipment to cleaning my filter on my deck and rinsing all the DE into the landscape rock i was forced into collections 5 days after i sent an email canceling my service. I was then issued a $25 late fee after being threatened with collections. On top of that i have had to deal with one of the more unprofessional people i have met, nothing was good enough and apparently " unreasonable requests " include just making sure my equipment in turned on and tested each visit and the pool is serviced.... in the last 3 months through camera i have noticed my tech not doing his job, i wrote the company complaining about my service and which then i began to receive the most unprofessional behavior i have experienced to date... after 5 days of receiving my invoiced i was threatened with collection and assessed a 25 dollar late fee. We called Blue Koi on the recommendation of a friend. They were responsive, close to on time and did a good job. No problem with the work. We do have a problem with the way they go about their billing. We were told we'd get a 10% discount for cash. So we had cash on hand. But we were never presented with a bill and felt uneasy about just handing over cash. So we asked the man who came out to do the service if a check was the same as cash. In so many other situations checks and cash are the same because the company avoids the fees charged by credit card companies. The man told us he wasn't sure but would check. We were quoted an amount. We paid by check. Later my husband realized we had not been given the 10% discount. So we contacted Victor. He's awesome when things go his way. But when you question something, not so much. He said cash was cash and did not include checks. We told him the person who came out led us to believe it was. Otherwise we would have paid with the cash we had. He told us that man was an employee and he was the owner. He said everything was on his upfront paperwork. Yes, but we asked for clarification so we'd be properly prepared and got nothing in response. He treated us as though we were imbeciles. So we came to the following conclusion. When companies want cash and do not give you a receipt, they are often trying to hide income from the IRS. Regarding service we were happy. We paid $1200 for a new Pentair pool pump after our Hayward pump failed this summer. Before Victor quoted us the $1200 he took a look at our installation and saw that the control panel of our Hayward pump had been relocated onto the wall of the pump house. When we ordered the new pump he also tried to sell us a new filter for $1,299 - we told him that our old filter was working fine and that we didn't need a new filter. He also tried to sell us an "acid wash" for $350,- which we declined, he would have drained the pool (18,000 gallons). Refilling it would have added another $200 to our water bill. It was totally unnecessary, after adding some pool shock and running the new pump for a few days, the water was crystal clear again. So the next day his technician installed the new pump and said that the filter which we have had for over 5 years wouldn't work because it was too small. I told him that it was working fine until the pump stopped. At this point he started to be extremely rude, called me stupid and ignorant while approaching me without a mask. I walked away from him and he followed me, making comments in regards to my attempt to keep the distance of 6' which everyone should keep during the pandemic. He tried to steal the defective Hayward Ecostar variable speed pump for which we had paid over $1400. I had to stop him from loading it onto his pickup. He also opened a box of tiles which he found on our property and used some of the tiles to lift up the new pump to align it with the pipes. He didn't ask if he could use them and when I called Victor, his comment was "why are you making a big deal about these tiles? I can give you $2,50 for them" The biggest problem was that I found out later that for the Pentair Superflo pump we can't get a relocation kit. He should have installed the Pentair Intelliflo pump instead. He saw that the original installation had the control panel on the wall and any knowledgeable professional would have quoted a product with the ability to relocate the control panel. At least he should have pointed out that he would install a product without the ability to relocate the control panel. It appears that he doesn't know the products which he sells and just tries to make a quick buck. When I called him to discuss the problem (our pump sits in the corner of the pump house and it is almost impossible to see what is programmed on the control panel) , he started to yell at me so loud that I had to hold the phone 3 feet away from my ear. My wife who was in another room heard this and asked me "what is wrong with this guy?" Now we have to change the pump another time because the Superflo pump doesn't work for us. A $1,200 loss. Started off good they drained, acid washed pool, and cleaned the calcium line. Brand new filters were installed into a dirty filter housing. Couldn't even rinse it out. Made an excuse about not wanting to break the drain plug. Pool was filled again and needed salt. All other l instructions I got were to put in about 340 lbs of salt. Victor insisted I buy 480 lbs of salt. He's supposed to the be the expert right? We dumped in 400lbs. Fast forward a week and salt levels are way too high, conformed with three different tests. Chlorinator won't produce chlorine with léveles that high and could damage the cell. I walked Víctor to borrow a pump to drain 1/3rd of the water and replace it. I also mentions the other issues and got a bunch of excuses. I figured he would gladly take the opportunity to fix a mess he created. Again more excuses about why the job wasn't done correctly and wants me to use the pump to drain the water. So far I have had to redo the filter job. Now I'm wasting time, salt, and money to rent a pump. Buyer beware. Never again. Do yourself a favor and find someone else I will next time. read more

After just relocating to AZ we selected Victor as our pool service. At first we had a excellent experience, he told us that Chris, who had been in the business for years, would service our pool. He was absolutely amazing, his knowledge and communication were outstanding. Three months later Chris was gone and things started going south, no communication dumped chlorine into the pool weekly by the gallon full and we are left with trying to unwind the chlorine out of the pool. We have not added any chlorine to the pool since our service was terminated over a week and a half ago and the values are still over the top! Then...there's the matter of their billing techniques. A bill is emailed to you on the 16th and you are expected to pay it by the last day of each month. In a year's time I had paid my bill 3 times on the 1st and this is the text I received, followed by a very unprofessional telephone call terminating my service: Good morning, I'm following up on the invoice that was due on 8/31/2021 for completion of pool care for the month of August. Over the past several months we've had to send out multiple reminders after the due date. We don't want to clutter clients emails with reminders, however our invoicing software time stamps when an invoice is viewed. Effective this today we will no longer offer billing in arrears, moving forward we will require the next month of service to be pre-paid by the 10th with invoices going out on the 1st invoice before we continue service. Another option to avoid pre-billing in advance is to place a credit card on file to keep the current billing policies as is. Please let me know know which option you'd prefer?
