They came out to perform an inspection on a spa that I was selling to make sure it was fully functional. I just purchased this home and it came with a spa, the spa is less than 3 years old. They found a small leak and replaced 2 o-rings (maintenance). A week later I was draining the spa and noticed one of the corner plastic strips was not flush with the spa panel. After further investigation I noticed that the top screw holding the plastic strip in place had been broken off, the screw head was missing but the rest of screw was still attached. At the bottom I noticed that the screw was not tight at all. Upon further investigation I realized that the screw hole was stripped. Nothing was ever said to me about these issues, I found them on my own. I was able to remove the broken screw with vice grips. I had to drill another hole for the bottom screw. I am completely unsatisfied with this. If you break something on my spa then have the decency to fix it. If you claim that these issues were already there then why weren't they brought to my attention when you found them. I will not use this company again and I don't recommend them. read more

I contacted ProTech for a spa leak. They called right back and had their technician out in a few days. He was on-time, and I could tell he knew his stuff. Unfortunately, due to the location of the leak, he wasn't equipped to fix it. But he did diagnose the problem, tell me what needed to be done, and referred me to someone that should be able to help. He also fixed a diverter valve that was totally unrelated. AND.... since he couldn't fix my leak, he didn't charge me a dime (even for the diverter valve). In fact he refused my money! I have to say this is a level of customer service almost non-existent anymore. I would not hesitate to recommend ProTech to my family and friends! read more

David came out today to look at a leak with our spa and it was our first experience with Protech. He was extremely thorough not only with finding the source of the leak quickly but also checking every jet and valve to ensure he fixed any other issues. After he fixed the leak, he ran the jets while continuing to inspect and install replacement jets to ensure there were no other leaks. I trusted the REVIEWS. I trusted their BUSINESS MOTTO: "When Honesty and Integrity matter". This business sent David out to quote the repairs to my spa and when David Arrived he told me that him and Christine already discussed this and knew what was going on. David told me what was going on before even opening up our spa to investigate. HOWEVER, AFTER THEY GOT $125 from me for the Appt. and I told them I wanted it fixed, I never heard from them again. I've left messages at the office phone number 602 769 1315 and called multiple times in hopes to get real person. I feel that if they knew what was going on before even coming out and didn't want to fix it, Why Come Out? Oh to get my $125. This is the 2nd business that came out and I paid a service fee to, only to have them not do the work. I feel this company is not and did not act in good faith. If they didn't want to do the work, why come out and look at it to begin with. Also they are advertising they service SPAS, but all they did for me was take my $125 and confirm what I already knew was happening that I explained to her when I made the appt. I ALREADY KNEW, I just needed someone to fix the problem. However, to get to that point I had to pay a $125 fee to get a quote. I hate to use the word SCAM, but I trusted this company based on their reviews and it makes no sense to me why they even came out to begin with when they could of just declined my request for help. Called late on a Saturday to set up my appointment and they were out before noon on Monday. If only the cable company could be that quick! Service tech was very friendly and professional. If you are reading this as a spa owner I am sure you know that spa leaks can be annoying and difficult to diagnose. My service person was able to diagnose and fix the leak as well as show me some features in my older spa that I was completely unaware of. In all honesty this company could have taken me for a "ride" on the price but instead they charged me a VERY fair amount and told me to call if I had anymore issues. This company came out to an evaluation of my hot tub... Doing Covid their Technician refuse to wear a mask... Then I received an estimate from them with no equipment inventory number, simply just stating the repair cost no other details. After several requests asking them to provide the type of pump needed that they were planning on replacing like ( item #)... they refused to respond! Then, I finally got a response stating we owed $85 for the estimate, I replied and said we were aware of that and thought it was included in the repair cost... and all we needed to more forward with the repairs were a detailed estimate to include the parts being used. Again, No reply! Now, I reached out again to them yet again to continue moving forward, and was told the they had placed the $85 estimate fee as bad debt and no longer wanted to do business with us! read more

I called two companies initially. The first company didn't call me back for several weeks and when they did, they booked an appointment several weeks out with a $130 trip charge (which would be good for a year). Although I didn't necessarily have a problem with it (since some would be applied to the work), I just wasn't very comfortable with a several week more wait time. I called Carl and he said he was under a Jacuzzi working but would get back with us. We live a distance out (Carefree Highway), but he said he had a couple clients he was going to see in about a week and he'd arrange to see us at the same time. So it was great timing (a couple of weeks before the other company would have shown). In the move of our spa to our new house, several parts went missing. Plus it had been sitting so we wanted to have him inspect it. He came the first time, looked it over, and then said he'd order the part, and didn't charge us for the service call nor ask us for any money for the part (that never happens). He also went to another house we own to check on the spa there. It wasn't filled up so we filled it and he came back another time. He just left our house off of Carefree Hwy, our spa totally fixed, and the part which I expected to be a lot higher (I had already priced them online), he charged me less for his time and part then the part would have cost me to order. If I had gone with the other company, we'd still be waiting for our first visit, which would have been another week, and by the time the part came in, we'd be out of spa season. Very likable man, I have no problem completely recommending him to anyone -- both capable and honest. I am a very good judge of character, and my husband and I were very fortunate to get Carl as our spa company and will share him with all of my friends. read more

I would have given this company a ZERO rating but 1- is lowest. We had our main light go out in our HotSprings Spa so we called Protech to come out and the tech Dave informed us the owner will send a quote to repair. We approved the repair cost and then when tech came back out to fix it , the bar and pillow Spa lights that worked before all stopped working. I was informed that I had to either accept it or upgrade the Spa main Controller (which the tech conveniently had one of on his truck) and topside to get ALL the lights back working. I was then informed by tech Dave that I would need to first pay the invoice for the light bill before Carl the owner would continue doing business with me. When I asked Carl if I could pay the balance after he fixed my Spa, I was verbally cursed at and bullied to pay up immediately. I needed my spa fixed so I paid the invoice and was told to order the topside myself by tech Dave as they were not able to get parts from his supplier and was told they were back ordered and were unable get them in a reasonable amount of time (was told over 30 days or more). When the tech came back to install controller he said it wasn't working because of the defective topside I had purchased (I ordered it next day air and was new in box from Manufacturer). I assisted his tech Dave with a call to the technical department at HotSprings and the tech informed him he had the wrong outdated software on controller for my Spa. When the tech Dave called his Boss Carl he handed me the phone, again the owner Carl started screaming vulgar language at me and stated I needed to get the software myself and then told me I had a defective topside and the person his Spa tech Dave was speaking to could have been my brother? Really? His tech Dave was trying to leave the bad parts with me and I informed him I was not accepting a bad controller and insisted he take it back and return when they had the correct software. Several days later I received a voicemail from the owner Carl (who changed his demeanor) and politely informed me they had the right software this time and wanted to schedule the tech back out. I agreed, but when tech Dave came back out the controller worked but now the main light stopped working. I had already paid all invoices in full and was trying to get the tech to return. I called the tech directly and was then asked if I could fix the light myself and that he was confused on light issue? I insisted that since I paid invoice in full that they need to return to fix the light. Once the tech Dave returned he started plugging in and out all the wire harnesses on the Spa with the power on. When I saw this from my kitchen window I ran outside by spa and asked "please do not plug wires in out with power on." the tech again said he has done this before and was still confused why light wouldn't work, and now the Spa controller was just making clicking noises and stopped working so again I helped his tech Dave and called the spa manufacturer tech support and they told tech Dave that he had the wrong light for the spa the whole time and that he now blew the new controller board by plugging in/out wires with the spa power on. So now my Spa is completely dead! By this time the tech was muttering that he just lost his job under his breath. When Dave called his boss, Carl informed him to just leave the Spa the way it is, broke, and to go on to the next job. When I politely asked Carl to have Dave please put my old controller back in so we could still use the Spa (until he could return to fix it, which Carl could not tell me when he could get correct parts) he again screamed vulgar words at me and told tech Dave on speakerphone to get his tools and leave my house, he then yelled vulgarities at me that he was done with me and to find someone else to fix my Spa. I since repaired the spa with the correct parts and have shipped the defective parts back to Protech, with signature required. We are disputing all charges from Protech. Never in my day was I treated in the rude and abusive way as a good paying customer, BEWARE!! this company is not licensed in the state of Arizona and we should have done more research before hiring this company. I spoke to Carl, the owner who was so nice and professional and assured me that someone would be out this week to have a look. Well, David came out 48 hours later. He was also very nice, professional and knowledgeable and diagnosed and fixed the problem immediately and gave a 1 year warranty on the repair. One word...UNRELIABLE. If I could give them zero stars I would. I called 2 weeks ago and spoke to Carl who said it would be an $85 fee to assess my spa which the $85 would go towards any required work. Sounded reasonable so I scheduled the appointment at which time I asked Carl to call prior to arrival. Carl said they would get out by the end of the week. The end of the week came and I missed a call from Protech and received a voicemail that was unreadable. I called them back the same day and then only 2 days later Carl finally returned my call. Carl apologized for the unreadable voicemail blaming bad in car Bluetooth. I was then told they were busy and would get to me by the end of the following week. Well the next week came and on the last day I saw someone in my backyard looking at the spa. I assume (and still hope) it was Protech but by the time I got to the backyard they were gone. The assessment had to be no more than a minute which is no assessment and just an $85 billing scheme. Now I'm going on 3 weeks and still no call about possible repairs in addition they never provided a courtesy call letting me know when they would show up, hence I still have no idea f the person in my yard was indeed a Protech employee!! As I said Protech is an UNRELIABLE company and I would not trust the other positive reviews which I based my original appointment on. Time to begin my search again to find a reliable spa repair company!...Any recommendations besides Protech? read more

Carl REALLY knows what he is doing. Should have been obvious by the huge tool kit he brought. The diagnosis was expert, spot on, and surprising, because the cause of the GFCI tripping was not something listed in any of the on-line chats about the problem.
