It was my Birthday and Mom and I came for dinner. We were told there was nothing they do for Birthdays. We ask for white cheese sauce 3 times before they brought it. The waitress did not check on. us at all. She was 2boothes down talking and carrying on with friends that came in. She was very rude when we did ask for anything. We went early on Saturday night. We were seated promptly, but our waitress appeared a bit slowly. We got chips and salsa while we waited. Chips were great; salsa was mediocre. Their queso is much better, but we were ready to order by the time she came to the table. I ordered arroz con Marisco ($17.99) and my partner ordered a chicken chimichanga ($12.99). He ordered wine, and I had my Captain and Diet Coke. Water came with our drinks. Food arrived only 10 minutes after we ordered. Both dishes came with the usual rice, guacamole, tomatoes, and lettuce. He got beans with his also. Food was delicious and prepared well, which can be difficult with shrimp and scallops. We were quite satisfied with everything! With drinks bill was only $50. Food is delicious BUT when B M opened the decor was fresh and the waiters all wore the same bright colored button down shirts, had fresh haircuts and huge smiles on their faces. NOW, they're as tired looking as the duck taped booths, messed up walls, scratched up tables and wooden chairs and missing rock on the cashier wall. They're sloppy looking all around. BUT the worst thing is their ventilation is not working properly so everything wreaks of fajitas including YOU when you leave! It's HORRIBLE! Don't be surprised if the place catches fire and the whole complex they're in goes up in smoke! The fire department needs to see WHY this is the case and if the insurance company in that complex is covering them, they need to get involved now. B M - Close down and clean up and reopen with the same vigor and vitality that you began your journey with at this location. Until you do, I'm going to the one in Washington or elsewhere in Peoria. I have been to Blue Margarita's a few times in the last six months. Honestly, there are better places to go for Mexican food in the Peoria area. It is a close meeting spot for a good friend of mine so I likely won't cross it off my list entirely, but I keep hoping (likely in vain) that I will find a dish that that I can't wait to have again. None of the items I have tried are particularly bad, but overall, not very flavorful. I refuse to order anything with steak . . . pretty sure they are using flank or skirt steak for everything and that is one tough and terrible piece of meat. The margaritas are top notch, so I guess if you have a few of those and then consume your food it's probably pretty tasty. read more

Our family visits this restaurant on occasion, mostly because my husband loves the Patron Fajitas. I have tried various tacos, taco salads, chimichangas, and quesadillas on different visits, and I have to agree with some others' reviews regarding the lack of flavor. Everything is usually good, just bland. My nephew really enjoys their food, but he doesn't like spice, so this is a great place to try if you prefer milder Mexican food. The service is usually very good; although on one occasion I ordered the mango shrimp tacos and they brought breaded fish instead. I brought the error to the waiter's attention, and he insisted that I ordered fish. Everyone at my table agreed with me that I had ordered shrimp, and he just shook his head no. He corrected the order, but it was supposed to be served with mango salsa, and it was simply served in flour tortillas with lettuce and tomatoes. The food at this place was GREAT! Delicious! But the service SUCKED!! It wasn't busy, it was after the lunch hour, yet the server brought my drink and took my order. That's it. Street tacos. Iced tea. That's nothing! Someone else brought my food. The server never came back to my table. Not even once. I had to ask for my check twice, once I asked the server from someone else's table. Not good service. I left him a tip based on his quality of service. And I over-tipped at that. The people sitting at the table across from mine could have added their waiter to their Christmas card list!! He checked on them every time he walked past them! So I just went up to the cashier's desk to pay and *Poof*! There's my server! He kept saying "Sorry. Sorry." I just kinda looked at him like okay, yea. To begin with, the chips and salsa were on point. Called ahead for a big group, and they had it set up with the chips and salsa. They tasted good. We ordered, and that was the end of the good experience. Food took a while, but the problems lay with our waiter and food runner not communicating and us not knowing that. Asked for multiple things, they never came with our original meal and never got them when we asked the food runner. The waiter just wasn't around when it mattered, or we hadn't figured out the food runner was just not helping. Would not go back. Food was average but bland at best. read more

Outstanding service and delightful food. Polite staff keeping chip baskets and salsa boats always stocked. The food came out fast and looking and smelling great. I got the Tacos Del Mar (fish and shrimp tacos) and it was delectable! Marvelous use of shredded cabbage to add that needed crunch, splendid flavor of the creamy, zesty sauce, and decent amounts of shrimp and breaded tilapia, all on a corn tortilla. If I were to go again, I'd probably order the same thing! Highly recommend this dish if you like seafood. Excellent new Mexican restaurant in north Peoria. Authentic menu and highly recommend the Pollo specialities. The Pollo Maya was incredible. As well as the chorizo, queso, and salsa. Not the best place to celebrate the Cinco De Mayo holiday. They basically turned into a fast food restaurant for the day with a drastically shortened menu and only offering 2 types of pre-made margaritas served from re-used juice containers. They both tasted like Kool-Aid. I tried to get one made fresh with Patron and I thought the world might end by the attitudes from the "bartenders" who clearly preferred to just pour from their juice containers. It wasn't even that busy there! The food was great and came really fast, big portions but I'm not sure I can get over their service and attitudes. No other Mexican joint in town went to these time cutting measures and they were all packed. read more

So so disappointed, the cutest atmosphere with the worst food. My greatest disappointment was how far from authentic the food was, I ordered the sampler appetizer thinking you can't ruin flautas. WRONG. They were greasy, hardly any chicken and what was in there was dry. The "beef chimichangas" were in something resembling a tortilla but greasy and puffy. Ground beef!!! As soon as I see a Mexican restaurant standard "beef" meal have ground beef, they are donzo in my mind. The steak fajitas, chicken fajitas and quesadilla are huge servings and taste super good. Their salsa is much better than most places in the area. Horrible service, we were there for 2 hours for lunch! The computer went down, which wasn't their fault but they didn't communicate that with us, so we waited another 20 minutes to pay the bill. Then this guy over charged me FOUR times and tried to charge me $60 for 3 people to eat. My workgroup decided to have a team outing at Blue Margarita. We decided to order on separate tickets. There was a coupon floating around buy 1 get 1 half off. We asked the waiter if we could use the coupon from our mobile devices - he said yes. That in turn had some of the guest order in pairs while others ordered food there in addition to take out. From that point the waiter came to the table periodically speaking in Spanish to some at the table (who also spoke English) and English to the rest of the table. We had one person waiting some time for refills of water and beverage when she got his attention she ordered both water and beverage at once so she would not be without drink. There was no complaints with the dine in food. At time of check out the waiter advised the two pair he spoke Spanish with that their discount was on the bill. We in turn asked if we should have advised of coupon prior to ticket - we were then advised 1 coupon per table. Understandable if: 1. That had been advised prior to ordering 2. He had only given one discount oppose to two 3. We had ordered on the same ticket and he had not took it upon himself to choose the two pairs he would allow to use the coupon. The people who ordered take out requested he did not cook our meals to until we were ready to go. Take home food was horrible it was cold, thrown together, shells soggy and chicken tough and dry.
