My wife and I visit Peoria once a year and we're happy try Casa Agave. We appreciate the friendly service and the high-quality ingredients they use in the food. The restaurant decorations are also well thought out. We were well taken care of by Jesus at the bar. My wife had red wine, and I asked Jesus if he could make me a jalapeno and mezcal margarita. He muddled fresh jalapenos, and it turned out perfect! Fresh squeezed limes and fresh jalapeños are the key ingredients. My wife and I shared some appetizers and ordered separate entrees. We both liked the creamy guacamole and she really liked that they use white meat in the flautas. The short rib mole was nice to see on the menu. It is tender and not spicy. I like spicy food, but I still enjoyed the mole. We will visit again when we are in the area. Thank you Natalie and Jesus for the great service!

If you're looking for a fresh, modern Mexican dining experience in Peoria Heights, Casa Agave delivers both in flavor and ambiance. From the moment you step inside, the décor sets the tone, stylish tilework, warm lighting, and artistic displays of agave plants and tequila bottles give it an upscale yet comfortable vibe. We started with chips alongside a bowl of Mexican street corn (elote). The corn was charred perfectly, mixed with creamy cheese, and had a squeeze of lime to brighten each bite. Paired with the crisp, lightly salted tortilla chips, it was a great way to begin the meal. For the main courses, we enjoyed with Carne Asada Tacos and Shrimp Tacos. Each plate was presented beautifully, with vibrant colors and fresh ingredients that showed their attention to detail. The interior of Casa Agave is as memorable as the food, modern Mexican design with cozy seating, decorative agave sculptures, and a stunning backlit display of artisan tequila bottles. It feels inviting for both a casual lunch and a more upscale evening out. Casa Agave is more than just another Mexican restaurant--it's a thoughtful blend of authentic flavors and stylish presentation. The food is fresh, the service is warm, and the setting is perfect for a night out in Peoria Heights. If you go, don't skip the street corn--it's a standout.

Have been twice and very happy with the food. I especially loved the short rib mole and look forward to getting it again! Carnitas were very tasty and enchilada were good, but average. Also loved the smoky pina margarita. Will be back.

This place seem to have really good from scratch cooking methods and was able to accommodate our crazy allergies. Even at lunch, there was a lot of mood lighting and it was pretty dark. They had a lot of antiques and interesting furniture and decorations. As a family with young kids, I do wish they didn't see us next to the naked bodies in the artwork. It was very distracting for one of my kiddos during lunch. We were helped pretty quickly, but it did take a long time to get our food. Our food was outstanding. Everything was from scratch and it tasted really good. The baby really enjoyed it. This sweet potato fries are amazing. I was confused why the restaurant was so empty but perhaps it's because it takes so long to get your food? Or possibly Peoria I just can't support a nice restaurant like that. I was disappointed that I couldn't eat off the dinner menu. I was really looking forward to a few of the things on that menu. Perhaps next time we can get takeout so the kids won't get so antsy and try some of the dinner menu. Thank you hearth for a lovely lunch that was safe for our family!

We called ahead for a table for two, and the host made it sound like it was going to be the busiest night of the year -- only a high-top near the bar was "available." When we arrived, the restaurant was nearly empty, which made the seating choice puzzling. Food & Drinks: * Iceberg Salad: 2.7/5 -- fresh but nothing special. * New York Strip: 1.2/5 -- Ordered medium-well, arrived rare. By the time it was recooked and returned, I had already finished the rest of my meal. The steak itself was fatty, chewy, and lacking in flavor. * Old Fashioned: 2.5/5 -- unbalanced and underwhelming. * Grits & Mushrooms: 2.1/5 -- bland and disappointing. Overall, the food lacked flavor and consistency, and the service didn't help elevate the experience. I wouldn't recommend this place to anyone I truly cared about.

They did great with my son's dairy intolerance - they left some meatballs off his meat pizza and left a note on the box explaining they are made with cheese. I appreciate it as I would not have thought of that, and I liked they had vegan cheese as an option for his pizza. The second time we tried the west coast flatbread but he said it tasted weird. I thought it was fine- maybe just not kid approved . My fault for trying to get some veggies into him. I found their soup very tasty and had a watermelon mint salad with a bowl of soup the second time, and a turkey burger the first time. The turkey burger was fine but a little dry and bland. Husband had a squash bowl the first time which was great, we mixed the chickpea salad side into it. It was a good combo def recommend it. He tried the pulled pork sandwich on the second go and felt it was fine but bland. I think maybe it seems like everything else on the menu is a good pick except for the sandwiches. I had a moon time tea the first time. It came with no lid they didnt have any but was very very good tea so I ordered it again the second time. They forgot it in the second order and he had to go back for it. They rushed making it i think, it was not very strong, so I was a little bummed. I did call and ask them where they got the tea from and they told me it was from a local coffee place, so I am going to try to go buy a bag of tea to take home. I appreciate them pointing me to their source.

My lady can't have gluten, we always struggle finding places that have options for her. We were…read moremeeting an old friend of hers in Peoria, when she saw that The Queen of Squash was 100% gluten free. She was very excited. Now before I go much further, I am a hardcore Carnivore. I eat all the meat and Glutens. So, I was a little skeptical about a restaurant that seemed to cater to gluten free and Vegan. Over the years I've become accustomed to Gluten Free items, but they always seemed to have issues. I was pleasantly surprised by the food here. We started off with the Cheese bites. Which is much like Brazilian cheese bread, we couldn't decide between the zucchini chimichurri or the pineapple salsa as a dipping sauce, so we paid for both. These were fantastic. It had a great taste, and honestly both dipping sauces were good, but it was agreed the zucchini chimichurri is absolutely the best. If you like cheesy bread stuffs, get this. You will regret it if you don't. For the main course I opted for the P-Drizzle on a cauliflower flatbread. As copied from their menu: "a base of ranch and cheddar, topped with chicken, turkey bacon & turkey pepperoni and drizzled with tangy mustard BBQ sauce and our secret burger sauce." Now, I was hesitant because Turkey Bacon, Turkey Pepperoni? To my bacon and pepperoni loving self, this seemed so wrong... The only thing wrong about it was me. This flat bread was beyond delicious. Honestly, the bacon and pepperoni didn't taste exactly the same as traditional style, but that's okay. It was still good and on this flatbread the flavors mixed with everything else to make it a tastebud sensation. Most surprisingly was the crust. If you've ever eaten Gluten Free items, they usually have a weird texture, it's too dense/crumbly, or has a strange flavor. This did not. Over the last five years I've eaten a lot of Gluten Free items and tested them vs the traditional versions. I can say that this flat bread was so good, that I had to double check with the staff to make sure it was gluten free before I let my lady taste it. If you are gluten free, or if you are with someone that is gluten free. Go out of your way to the Queen of Squash. You will not regret it. My only issue is that it's so far away from where we live.
