My sister and I booked appointments the night before the scheduled date. They were able to accomodate us on short notice, so we felt really lucky! Laura worked on both our pedicures (our appointments were one after another, if we booked more in advance they would have been able to schedule us at the same time). She was incredibly caring and checked in to ask if the temperature of the water was ok, if ever I felt uncomfortable to let her know, if the color was OK after she put a drop on the first toe. I could really tell that they are very attentive to their customers and care about helping them feel as comfortable as possible! I'm so happy with how pretty my toes looked at the end of the service (light cotton-candy pink). It was such a relaxing and pleasant experience! It was the perfect way to check something off my list of things to enjoy during my vacation.

I just booked regular polish for both of us since I didn't want to do gel with COVID uncertainty. There was no pressure at all to upgrade on the call or when we arrived the day of. (You know how it can be...) First impressions walking in: Very clean and bright. Hand sanitizer was right by the door and they asked us to wash our hands at the sink. Because my friend and I were in the same bubble, we could sit side by side for both pedis and manis. There was plexi glass separating us from the staff and each other when we were getting the manis. They opened up new tools in front of us. Again, important during a pandemic or not!! No one needs a nail infection... Parking: SO MUCH street parking all over. And free! Overall, it was wonderful. The pedicure started off fine with soaking and exfoliating, but when the technician was cutting my nails, she accidentally cut the corner of my left big toe and it started bleeding. She noticed right away and took care of it, and the bleeding stopped quickly. I've had many pedicures before and this was the first time I've ever been cut to the point of bleeding, so I didn't feel comfortable having her continue. I asked her to just colour my nails. Another technician ended up taking over and she was much better and seemed more experienced. My biggest issue was really the cleanliness. Besides the chair, the UV/LED nail lamp was visibly dirty with a lot of old stains and residue on it. Overall, the service was okay, especially after the second nail technician took over, but between getting cut and the cleanliness of the place, I wouldn't come back. I didn't know what to expect (again, my FIRST manicure) so I wanted to check a couple of things. Right away the woman said, "I already told you." I said, "Well, the woman I spoke to on the phone..." she cut me off, "Woman! No "Woman", I speak to you!" She seemed irritated already and I had barely set foot inside! I tried another approach, "May I see your prices?" "Right there." she pointed to a post on the wall, then "I told you on [the] phone." "Which nails are stronger?" "They ALL strong. They ALL good, ok!" She tapped me on the hand to make me listen. That was enough for me - too aggressive, WAY too impatient and rude! It was not pleasant nor relaxing at all. They shampoo twice and condition once and then blow dry your hair. They ask you to sit up to do some massaging on your shoulders. Then you are asked to sit in front of a mirror where they serve you cold water and finish blow drying. Then the 'spa' treatment is done and they start to clean up the room and ask you to change.. but they're still there and the door is also wide open to the public area. The technicians were nice people but they really need to reformat their spa style. I also noticed they had extremely long nails which I assumed they also work at the nail salon. This may be the reason why their head scratching hurts a lot.

She then told me that the $52 is for "classical mani and classical pedi" and they gave me shellac! That I did not ask for. I've had pedicures and manicures here and the variety of polishes and finishes is wonderful. I've had nails done for weddings, graduations, vacations and other special events and countless pedicures in the summer. It isn't super posh, and there is a tendency to be dusty because they do a lot of fake nails, but they try to keep it clean and the prices are reasonable. I miss Pretty Nails ever since I've moved out of the area but I make a point of returning to catch up with the girlfriends over a pedi.
