Cute place. Alyssa was awesome! Friendly, approachable and attentive! 4 bar stools on each side of the wine counter. Blocks of cheese on sale as well as crackers to enjoy their selection. If you plan on a day to wine hop, pack a small cooler with ice so you can take the cheese with you. Most cheese packs are sold with 4 blocks of cheese in 1 pkg. The Catawba brand of wine was was very nice, but the Cosmo slushy is better. It's refreshing on a hot day. TIP: limited parking in front of the facility & it sits on a corner of a highly traveled main road. Go past the winery, (right side; right lane) and take a right at its corner; take another right onto E Maple, the next street. From there, on the right is a graveled path. That's their area for patrons to park. Approx 8 cars can fit on left side of the path. No Food. Just cheese, crackers, and BlackOut pretzels. read more

Such a cute spot, we enjoyed our experience here! The girl that served us went above and beyond, very rare nowadays, and was so nice to see! The barrel aged wines that are specific like basil Hayden and makers mark are a very nice and unique touch! Made the wine very smooth! My husband is a super sweet (like grape juice sweet) wine drinker, and there wasn't a lot sweet enough for him but he did enjoy the raspberry wine slush and the peach wine! What an absolutely delightful find! So charming!! There is a great variety of wines to try. Sweeter fruit wines, lighter whites and some really nice bolder reds which were a great surprise ( my favorites). The new owners ( Beautiful couple: Rowes) have a wonderful side court next door to enjoy sipping on their wine and listen to music. A diamond in the rough to not miss if you are wine fans. After shopping nearby I decided to stop in for a wine tasting. Tasted the Catawba and had a Red Tail Wine Slushie. Delish! Highly recommend both. I love the indoor and outdoor seating options. Very cozy but compliant with covid protocol. Extremely friendly and knowledgeable staff made it a great time. I would like to take my mom back to spend some time sampling wine and having some girl talk. This place is great for girls night, date night or solo missions when you just want to relax. Purchased some peach wine and I'm looking forward to trying it. They had lots of options to accommodate my taste so I'm looking forward to going back and trying the Reisling, Fruit Wine and Sangria. If you're in the area you should absolutely come check this place out! The day we went there was live music outside so we decided to hang out there. The staff was very helpful and did a great job explaining what their options were and what else the shop offered. We decided to split a flight and each wine was unique, distinctly different from wines we have had elsewhere, and delicious. They even sell mead by the bottle as well as wine slushies, which you absolutely must try. They also offer wine kits it looked like and workshops on how to make wine. read more

We made reservations for our group of seven to tour this vineyard and experience their wine tasting. This experience was top notch all around! Gary aka Gerhart (sp?) greeted us as we got off our van and led us through his vineyard describing each of the types of grape vines in his 16 cultivated acres. He imparted so much knowledge about the culture of grape growing as he went with such ease. Once inside the tasting room, we were greeted by his wife Suzette where places were set for each of us at the bar with cheeses, crackers, sausage and chocolates to accompany the wine tasting. The wine tasting was informative, tasty and well presented by this couple who clearly know their grapes. Afterward we were able to order wine by the bottle or case. Stopped in on our way from Western MD to Baltimore on a Sunday. It was a nice day and there was live music so we headed outside. We ordered a couple flights and a couple glasses. While we weren't crazy about the reds we loved the whites we had. We had our dog in tow and BMWC couldn't have been nicer. The outdoor space is mostly gravel but they brought a cushion, treats, and water for him. A very sweet gesture! We're always looking for dog friendly stops on our road trips and we've found a great spot. We will definitely be back when in the area. read more

This was an out of the way wine-bar with many wines to choose from. They make all their wine in house sourced from local fruits as well as imports from other states. They also have wine making classes, which they said would take about 6 weeks to get through. Very friendly people. They even had games for the kids to stay busy while the adults do their tastings. Blue Mountain Wine Crafters was very accommodating! We went today, in which phase 2 of covid 19 had been initiated. The staff was very pleasant and strictly adhered to the regulations. They made sure tables were six feet apart and wiped the door knob and light switch to the bathroom (every customer). I appreciated their commitment to phase 2. I'm shocked that there aren't more reviews of this establishment, as it's truly wonderful! We stopped in after a bit of antique shopping, just to do some wine tasting, and for $6 I tried six very different wines and ended up purchasing two bottles (which, for $15 each, were an excellent value). I've had mixed experiences with small wineries in the MD/VA area, and wasn't expecting much when we went in. So many of the wines I've tried at very popular vineyards have been either completely flavorless, or cloyingly sweet, but Blue Mountain has found the perfect balance of highlighting their grape varietals, adding just the right amount of sugar to their fruit wines (hooray for a palatable strawberry wine!), and the perfect crisp notes to both their reds and their whites. I cannot recommend them highly enough, and while you don't have the chic location of some of the other wineries in the area, the staff are extremely friendly and knowledgable (which isn't always the case with wineries), and the quality of the wines speak for themselves. They also sell beer and wine making supplies, AND have classes where you can come in and make your own beer or wine, complete with a personalized label. I'm excited to go back and make some for my upcoming wedding, which seems like both a fun bridal trip, and an excellent gift for my wedding guests. Absolutely worth the drive out to Funkstown! read more

Awesome boutique winery. After reading the reviews, I also agree this place is a hidden gem. You get to taste 6 wines for $6 and the pours are very generous. We liked almost every wine we tasted. By the glass is $6 and all bottle wines are $15. The winery is located in the town of Funkstown, if you're looking to sit outside and enjoy the view of the mountains this is not the place for you. Only inside seating with 3 tables for four. The winery also sells wine and beer making supplies and other cool wine and beer stuff. We really enjoyed our time here. This is a great small place. Generous pours, friendly staff, and unique wine. I was a little surprised to find this place in the middle of a small town. They had an local apiary come in and do a honey tasting the day I went as well. Really is worth stopping by if your in the area. Great value when it comes to the tastings and the their prices. Blue Mountain Wine Crafters was a lovely place to spend the afternoon on a hot day. They have a huge variety of amazing wines, everyone will find something they love! The prices are probably the most reasonable winery prices in the area. The staff were so friendly and accommodating, and I felt confident in their response to Covid-19 that they are doing everything possible to keep everyone safe. I watched them measuring distances between chairs with a measuring tape before some awesome live music started, and they're ere continuously sanitizing door knobs, light switches, and hands.
