I came down to the Findlay market, and heard that I needed to try out a salted pretzel from Blue Oven. Line was really long on Sunday morning, maybe 40 people deep. I stood in line and patiently waited until I got to the front. When I did, I was rewarded with possibly THE GREATEST SALTED PRETZEL OF MY LIFE. The only other one I can think of that comes close is Miller's Twist in Reading Terminal Market in Philadelphia. This pretzel was literally fresh out of the oven. The lady took the little pans/trays out of the oven, put the pretzel on the rack for like 10 seconds, and then boxed it up and handed it over to me. Damn near burned my hand by trying to take it out to take a picture lol. One bite in, and I knew this was one of the best things I have ever eaten in my life. It was salty, buttery, chewy, crispy. A perfect soft pretzel. I definitely should have bought more than one. By themselves, I could have probably ate 5-6 of them, no joke. This thing was perfect! This is truly amazing, very high quality bread. On a trip to Cincinnati I visited Findley Market and had read a review that said it was the "best bread in Cincinnati". I have been baking and thought I'll be the judge of that. Well I was blown away and have been back twice. The 'bad boy' had a hard crust, lots of seasoning like an everything bagel, but incredibly moist inside. Second purchase was the Apricot, cranberry, walnut. To die for! Recommend cutting thick slices, perhaps best bread I have ever had. Also tried the scones, pretzels, both good, but something you can find anywhere. The English muffins here are absolutely fantastic! Everything is baked fresh, and multiple people recommended this place in Findlay Market to me. By the time we got there in the late afternoon, pretty much everything was sold out except the breads and these muffins. It was served warm and toasty, and I ate it plain because it was already tasty as it was. Inside is steamy and fluffy, outside is lightly buttery and crispy. There's a light sourdough tang to it too. A bakery outside of the Finlay Market. Bustling with people on a beautiful Friday morning the place seem busy as many of their displayed breads seemed empty meaning that this place probably has some food bread. The lady that helped me to recommend me to try their prerzals l, I wish I took a picture of it but it was very good, nice saltiness nice firm exterior with a good chewy interior nicely cooked! They also had some focaccia on display which looked amazing so I asked the lady which focaccia she liked. She recommended the pesto focaccia. We didn't get the chance to try to bread until I returned to my friends place in Indy, but the bread was still nice and soft and delicious, it did not hardernnat all even into the next morning. This was my first time at Findlay Market and as someone who does not care for bread, I was blown away with how good this place is! I tried the pretzel and mozzarella/pesto focaccia and I could not find one wrong thing about it. The pretzel was soft, not burned, not dry or overly salty. I regret not getting 6 of them to snack on haha. The staff were busy but all had great personalities and work ethic. I did not feel rushed as a first timer but also tried my best to be mindful and keep it moving. Pro tip: Get there when they open and wait in line. It is worth it. There is always a line and with good reason. These breads are phenomenal. My favorite thing here are the English muffins. They are on another level. You'll never go back to store bought again. Put some goetta and cheese on one of these bad boys and you will have the best breakfast sandwich. They manage the crowds well and are efficient. Blue Oven Bakery can truly not be beat. They have absolutely outstanding baked goods, and I am left in awe every time of how good they are. My personal favorites are the English Muffins and the Soft Pretzel. They both are so incredibly buttery and delicious. The English Muffins are so good they could be eaten plain, and the soft pretzel is always so warm and it truly melts in your mouth. Blue Oven is located in Findlay Market, which is an area I'd highly recommend checking out when in Cincinnati. The employees were very friendly and efficient. One thing to keep in mind is that a lot of their stuff runs out because it is baked fresh, so come early if you can! Purchased a loaf of whole wheat sourdough that was gooey and undercooked. Inedible. Also bought a pumpkin danish and unfortunately it was also inedible: dough was dry and thick, pumpkin filling was ridiculously oversweet and ended up giving it to the dog. read more

There wasn't much left when we stopped by today but I picked up 2 English Muffins. They are big, soft and smell amazing! The woman working the counter was friendly and the other items in the case looked awesome. I'll stop by earlier next time I'm at the market. We cook at home quite a bit and VASTLY prefer getting great ingredients. We used to live closer to downtown and when we were there we shopped Findlay Market weekly for our produce, meats, cheese and bread. This is one of the places that we MUST go to whenever we shop the market. The nature of baking in a wood fired oven gives everything they make a quality that I can't completely explain in words, you will have to try it to see what I mean. There is a crust that you just don't get from the normal baking process that is amazing and adds a texture that is very nice but without being too tough (a lot of places over do it with the crust, too tough and hard to bite through). There's a little bit of smokiness to their breads too but not so much that it takes over. The croissants are straight up magical! I must get an Almond Croissant and eat it at once every time I go to the Market. Once you have their English Muffins it will ruin store bought forever. Their loaves are fantastic as well. When you make a sandwich with bread from here it is more than just a conveyance for filling, it is one of the stars of the show. read more

Man this place is a strong hold at Findlay Market. Their products are super good. Good quality. Good Flavor. Good Combinations. And it's definitely a premium bakery but the prices are reasonable considering. The only complaint I can pose is that it's often so busy you have to wait in a long line and oftentimes, things will be sold out. Go early! Their English muffins are life changing. They are known for the hubcap which is a unique item, you will know it when you see it. Also the small pastry's are super good. We got the scone and it had this nice sour flavor from the real blueberry a inside. Also I got the carrot cake muffin and it was amazing as well! Let me tell you, we got a Bad Boy loaf from this bakery two weeks in a row from their satellite location at the Loveland Farmer's Market and we were hooked. We didn't know what to do with ourselves when the Farmer's Market was closed. We were accustomed to a certain standard of toast in the morning, and we went on a season long mission to find an alternative to tie us over until May. The mission failed. We were there opening day of the Farmer's Market and went straight to the bread. Just get it. Get the Bad Boy loaf. Make a bomb BLT with it. Create the greatest grilled cheese of your life with it. Or just have it our favorite way: slightly toasted with some butter as a mid morning snack. While you're there, get their pretzel. If they have the blueberry scone you definitely need that or their carrot cake muffin. If you aren't ready to be discontent with all other English muffins, don't get theirs. Down at Findlay Market on a Sunday morning, trying to figure out why the line for Blue Oven Bakery was so long! It smelled delicious and it seemed like the taste would be similar considering everyone and their bread bags. We walked around the market and decided to hop in line after the first hour rush went through. I can only assume that it's so busy at opening due to potential sell out but we were able to snag some treats regardless. Socially distanced, we made our way to the counter and asked what they were famous for. English muffins! I grabbed one of each, regular and wheat. Even after a few days at home, I must admit they are SO good! I enjoy mine slightly more dense but these things are thick and yummy! Must buy! Hubs took a shot in the dark and asked about gluten free bread, they did in fact have one left! Superfood loaf made of almond flour, golden flaxseed and psyllium husk. GF, keto and paleo. The texture was pretty gritty but the after taste is in fact one of bread, which is sort of what we are all after when it comes to GF goods. What I absolutely love about this shop is that they're nestled in Williamsburg, OH, a location not many city dwellers know about. I stopped by Blue Oven on Saturday to pick up a loaf of bread. I just love their breads. However, the two young people at the walk up counter were very rude and lacking in customer service skills. They were chatting among themselves instead of interacting with the customers, making fun of other people in the crowd in front of the customers and generally wasting the customer's time who were waiting inline while they chatted away. Better and better! Even though a fire shut down their primary ovens, Blue Oven keeps creating new breads and pastries that are even better than before. Sweet or savory scones, pretzels, and a variety of sliders are new and delicious. My favorite scones are the sweet ones with fruit and either white chocolate or other sweet flavors but always firm and flaky. The sliders have several delicious flavors but are distinctive because of the soft and unctious bun that surrounds the cheeseburger, pizza, or other pepper and sweet interiors. The service was awful. I went two days in a row because they do not have a phone number to call to verify what products they have in stock. They did not have the item I wanted. After I decided to purchase something else, the owner or someone I presume was the owner, rather nonchalantly said that product has cayenne pepper in it after I told him that I am allergic to it. He seemed to not care that I would break out in hives that itch and burn. After I said, I cannot come back here, he said, "okay". Wow, he does not care if he looses my business, then he should not have my business. I cannot give good reviews to a company that is that reckless about a customer's health. I also tried to give him some advice about quality development since I have extensive experience with it. I told him about auditing his production so that he would be less likely to run out of certain products and thereby reduce frustration on the part of the patron. It went over his head. Again, wow, ignorance is not bliss especially when you are running a business. There were so manly strikes that this business struck out with me.
