I always stop and buy a few flies and always seem to have luck with them I always say Good flies equal lots of fish. The staff is very knowledgeable about what the fish are hitting on and the best locations

My sister-in-law and our guide Curtis!

My Sister-in-law and I booked a July 3rd guided float for the Madison River. We found out the salmon fly hatch was on, so we expected action but little did we know we would get an education as well. Our guide took us to the river bank on several occasions to show us the different insects that were hatching - Stonefies, salmon flies and their exoskeletons, midges of all varieties and colors. It really helped us understand the decisions behind creating different types of flies and when/ how to use them. Between us we landed 15 fish, including an 18" rainbow, a 20" brown, many rainbows and hybrids and one mountain whitefish, but not a native cutthroat. I don't want to say how many I didn't land, but there were 4 that I really wanted to net before losing them to "angler error". I'd like to take a moment to thank the person who made this a memorable day - our guide Curtis Brown! Curtis was extremely knowledgable and patient. He was part teacher, entomologist and cheerleader. He had us use different presentations and techniques to match the sections of river we were on. He also explained what flies and nymphs we were using, as well as the reasons he was changing to them at the moment. We only lost two flies (one to a rock snag and another to the biggest fish I didn't land when I got too excited and applied too much pressure). Whether we hooked a 4" or 20" trout, Curtis's calm demeanor and instruction remained consistent and improved our chances for success. He also worked tirelessly on the anchor and oars with good humor and without complaint. If you get the chance to book a fly-fishing trip in Montana, you've got to go with Blue Ribbon Flies. If you get the chance to choose your guide, you've got to request Curtis Brown!

I have been fly fishing for nearly 30 years and I have traveled throughout Yellowstone several times. I've checked out almost every fly shop in and around Yellowstone and Blue Ribbon Flies is my 'go to' source for information, flies, and tackle. Craig Matthews is a great guy and fantastic source of information. Everyone at the fly shop was very helpful. Can't say enough, really.

Trent was extremely knowledgeable about Yellowstone's natural wonders and the best places to view wildlife. He was flexible, patient and very accommodating. He went above and beyond even sticking around to take us to west Yellowstone restaurants after our daily tour. We saw all the natural wonders on our list, as well as most of the wildlife. We had some special moments like a momma grizzly with three, two year old cubs; a large bison traffic jam with babies, called red dogs; a baby elk hiding as it's mother is gone off feeding; a mountain goat with a baby; Coyote cubs; elks with calves; a black bear couple; and a wolf with cubs moving about. Because we are bird watchers, Trent adjusted our tour to accommodate some bird watching and we were able to check off quite a few birds on our life list. In setting up our tour, David was fantastic. He was patient and accommodating for our lodging needs. This made our trip extra special. We highly recommend Yellowstone family adventures for your trip to Yellowstone. We definitely plan on using them in the future.

This is not a corporate tour company, it is ran by two brothers that will go out of their way to make sure they provide the perfect experience for your family! My husband caught his first Montana trout on a fly rod thanks to them! We didn't even have fly fishing in our 7 day itinerary, but my husband mentioned it to David on day two and he made it happen by the end of the trip! Thank you so much YFA for this wonderful experience! My kids are still taking about it! Money well spent! We visited in early May 2024.

We visited on a Sunday and were pleasantly surprised that the park wasn't too crowded. Because of this, we had extra time for a few additional stops along the route, which was a great bonus. All of the stops were amazing, especially Old Faithful and Artist Point. We were also lucky enough to see an incredible variety of wildlife, including a grizzly bear, black bear, bison, elk, and more. One thing to note is that most stops are about 20-50 minutes long, so there isn't a lot of time to fully explore each area or purchase food. Our group chose to include lunch through the company, and it was more than enough for lunch. I would suggest to bring some snacks if you're a snacker. I loved the water bottle design they provided and ended up bringing it home as a souvenir. Overall, I would highly recommend this tour to anyone visiting Yellowstone!

The staff in the office were friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. The snowmobiles were in great shape and work flawlessly! Our guide, Roy, did a super job! He gave us clear instructions on how to use the machines and the 'rules of the road.' Along the way he stopped at the interesting/beautiful locations and taught us many interesting facts. He is an outstanding guide! Very entertaining. I would definitely rent from them again. And a special thanks to Kennedy for all his help too!
