Our LG washing machine had been stalling out with an error code indicating an issue that was likely a failing vibration sensor, this would leave our clothes partially washed and sopping wet. John from Top Notch came to our house, observed the washer failing to complete a cycle multiple times with the same error code and listened to our concerns. After leaving to research the problem he left a voice mail later that day saying that he had consulted a colleague and suggested that we were just loading it incorrectly, he then described in detail how to properly load a washing machine. For context, we had been using this washer for three years without issue before it suddenly started failing mid-cycle, we are also both in our mid/late thirties so we have some experience doing our own laundry. We decided to go back to Sterling Appliance who believed us when we said there was a problem and they replaced the board with the sensor. Unsurprisingly actually performing the repair was more effective than gaslighting us about it and the washer is back to normal

We had a large appliance fail that needed to be brought back to the shop for repair. No biggy. However, it sat there for weeks... and here is my one word of caution: if they take your appliance, make sure they know they have it! They are focused on in-home repairs and actually forgot my refrigerator was there! But, as I said, it's how they reacted that is important. Once we figure out the reason for the delay, Davis got on it right away and managed to get it back to us the next day (which happened to be the day before Thanksgiving). I've been using Davis for many years and will continue to do so.

When I needed service on that repair, I called twice in July 2026, while it was still under warranty. I spoke with the dispatcher and was told they would arrange for technicians to come out, but no one ever contacted me. I then called Mr. Appliance's national customer service and was assured the local franchise would contact me. More than a week passed with no response. I also submitted a written complaint through their national website and still received no resolution. I understand that businesses can have staffing issues, but after paying $637 for a repair, I don't think it's unreasonable to expect them to honor their warranty and at least return my calls. As I had no other way to verify this, I took them at their word and accepted their explanation. For full transparency, however, it is worth noting that this communication came less than 24 hours after I had posted my initial review. The repair technician arrived at my home the same day, and spent approximately 90 minutes going back over the previous repair work and going much more in-depth in this second go-round. After completing the work, he explained what he did, what he found, and then ran a cycle through my dishwasher. The next day, I ran another cycle, and the leaking issue had been fixed. As I am someone who does believe in giving people and businesses second chances and opportunities, and because I have seen them perform excellent and professional work before (see my original review), I am likely to give them my business at least once more to see that this experience is an outlier and not their typical course of business.
