I am pretty handy around the house but when I the dishwasher stopped running through its cycles and then smelled of burning, I decided to call an expert. After reviewing a few options, I selected Expert Appliance Services. Sam arrived at our home at the agreed time. He is every much as polite and respectful as other reviewers have said. He identified the problem, located the parts, gave me a price for the service and repair, and told me when he would return. He again showed up on time, with the right parts, installed the parts, and stayed until he was positive the dishwasher was working as it should. A couple of weeks later, the dishwasher stopped fully draining. I ran it through a few cycles to see if it was a one time thing and when it continued to happen, I checked for blockage in the trap and drain line but found nothing. So I called Sam. Again he was prompt, responsive, and polite. He observed the problem and began checking for the cause acknowledging that the most likely problem would be the pump he had just installed. He tested many options, poked and prodded under the unit, and checked connections. While doing his search he would run the dishwasher through cycles trying to find the problem. After an hour or so of testing, the dishwasher started draining again. While it was then working, he admitted he didn't know what if anything he had done to fix it. Now, several weeks later, it continues to run properly. The best compliment I can give to someone is that I trust them. I trust and respect Sam and will trust him to do a great job the next time I need his help. read more

I'll echo the sentiment of another reviewer... Not sure I want to post a review, would rather keep these guys a well kept secret, but I had such great service, I had to share. My dryer was making a thumping/screeching sound, but the hearing element was still working. I cringed at the though of how much a repair would be, as it's a stackable unit, and a little more of a challenge to deal with the height and confined space (in a closet). I decided to call to get it repaired, and Expert Appliqnce Services was the second number I called (the first service I called does not repair stackable units). I was fortunate enough to get a same day appointment (though I would not have held this against them if I couldn't.. Just happened to be my lucky day). The technician, Sam, called about fifteen minutes out, and arrived about an hour in to the 12-3pm window. Upon walking into my home, he kicked off his sneakers as to not track dust and mold inside. I showed him the dryer and explained the problem and his turned it on to check it out. Turns out it was a little more than just replacing a belt (which was my initial guess). Sam said he had the parts and materials he needed and quoted me up front. About an hour later, give or take, Sam had replaced the worn parts and had the dryer reassembled, and working in perfect condition. All in all, an exceptional experience. First rate service and very reasonable prices. They will be my go to service for future appliance repairs. read more

Called and left a message on Saturday afternoon that our Whirlpool Duet Dryer had stopped working. Got a call back within 30 minutes and had an appointment for Monday. I also asked about them installing a new door gasket for the matching a matching front loading washer. I had the gasket and they quoted me $149 for labor. Sam called me 30 minutes out to let me know he was on the way. The dryer had reset itself out of Control Locked mode. Sam said that it could have been an electrical surge that caused it to lock up. He told me if it happen again to unplug the dryer and wait a few seconds and then plug it back in which should reset it. If it continued to lock then the electrical panel might be going out. He ran the dryer on a cycle and it worked fine. There was no charge for checking it out. As for the washer, Sam took his time taking off the door and panels to get to the gasket to remove it. He cleaned up all of the mold and soap that was present then proceed to install the new gasket I had. It wasn't an easy job as there a number of tight spaces but he took his time to get it installed correctly. He made sure that there were no leaks, then put the panels back on the washer. Sam was professional and explained what he was doing along the way. The price quoted to me on Saturday was the price I paid. I felt the price was fair for the work that was done. I do not usually write reviews, but Sam deserves it! After dealing with a sub-par appliance company that gave me the run around for 2 weeks over a back ordered part for my washing machine, I was done; I called Sam! He was able to come out the next morning and diagnosed the problem. He, first, checked the motor on the washing machine and it had been put back together wrong (thanks, but no thanks, sub-par appliance company). He then unclogged a small pressure pipe and voila! I have a working washing machine!! There was no part on back order, there was no part needed. He even waited through a rinse/spin cycle to make sure it was working properly. He also advised me to do another load from start to finish to make sure it was still working properly and he would check back with the outcome. I was so impressed with, not only, his problem-solving ability, but he was friendly, on-time and very professional. I didn't feel as if he was rushing out on the job, he took his time and I have a working washing machine! My only regret is that I didn't call him first!!! The water dispenser on my refrigerator stopped working, and I really didn't want to spend the money to replace an otherwise good fridge. I called Expert Appliance and, even though it wasn't an emergency, they were able to come out the next day. The technician called ahead and arrived on time with a face mask. The problem was difficult to track down, but the technician was amazing. He worked at it for over an hour, disassembling and changing components and hoses until he got it working again. He was careful and meticulous, handling everything gently. He vacuumed out the area behind the fridge before he started and cleaned the floor around the work area when he was done. Once finished, the technician billed me for the labor only. I asked why he wasn't charging me for all of the new parts he'd installed while he was investigating the problem, and he said that he didn't want to charge me for anything he may have replaced unnecessarily. This was only my first experience with Expert Appliance, but I will absolutely use them again the next time something else breaks around here, and I recommend them to everyone. read more

When my dishwasher broke it was the worst possible timing. Sam was able to repair the dishwasher quickly before my inspection. He actually had to come out 3 times. Initially he repaired it with a new water valve and tested it. It worked great. Unfortunately two days later it acted up. It turns out the control panel had went bad - it wasn't even attached properly! It must have just been in the perfect position when he was testing it to work and fill with water. He came out that day and looked at it and went systematically through all of the other possible issues it could be having until he settled on it definitely being the control panel. He ordered the part and the next day he installed it and it works like a charm. He gave me a fair price for the repair and was friendly and honest throughout the entire experience. Hopefully I will not need them for a while, but if I do - Sam is now my go-to guy. I highly recommend them - it is so hard to find such great and timely service and get a fair price. read more

Sam came to look at our refrigerator about 45 minutes after we called. He was very professional, courteous, communicated clearly and worked quickly. The fridge was leaking water on the floor and there was ice buildup inside. Sam quickly diagnosed a clogged drain as the main problem. which he resolved by removing excess dust from around the fan and also the greasy buildup in the drain line that prevented ice water from draining out. In order to access the insides he had to unscrew the inside panel, and the back panel, defrost the ice buildup so he could see what he needed to see, and then cleanout the greasy dust buildup. Sam explained everything before he did the work, it took about 40 minutes from start to finish, and he cleaned up thoroughly. He answered all of our questions clearly and we are back in business. The cost was very reasonable. It was a pure pleasure to interact with Sam, and watch him as he worked. A true professional. read more

I submitted a request on their website, emailed, and called to try to get a hold of someone to take a look at my dryer over the course of A WEEK. This company would not call me back or respond to emails (I am not counting one word responses asking for a phone number; followed by ghosting calls afterward). After they responded one phrase "phone number?", which I complied, I never received a call back. I also called twice (after submitting a request on their website and emailing) and left voicemails. I was hoping to be able to reach them since their home office is located in old town Fairfax and somewhat in our neighborhood (supporting local businesses), but this was impossible. I ended up going with a different company who called me back the day of and dispatched someone the following day. If you can reach them, they might be good; but I'd be wary they won't return your call or will ghost showing up to your house. read more

I called Expert Appliance Services after seeing the great reviews online. Well, they were all correct! PJ came to fix a washing machine problem, and found some socks that had found their way below the tub. (It's a GE stacked unit, which I would never recommend to anyone BTW!) But PJ was great. He quickly found the problem, but the unit would not reset. He suggested waiting 24 hrs to see if it resets on it's own. He could have easily insisted that a new capacitor is needed, which is what the GE repairman did on the previous incident, but didn't. The machine did reset itself by the next day and is operating fine. PJ didn't require any payment until we found out if it reset. We scheduled another visit for a week later, and it's working fine. He only charged me for a single visit! I will definitely use Expert Appliance for all my appliance repairs! read more

I had a really troublesome refrigerator that wouldn't produce ice or dispense water correctly. After SO many attempts to defrost, replace the filter, and take apart half the refrigerator looking for the problem, I called Expert Appliance Services and Sam came out at a convenient time for both of us. He figured out the problem almost immediately and then gave me the cost explaining the breakdown of the price. He was so patient while I asked a hundred questions and explained what he was doing the whole time. He even adjusted some other things to make sure I wouldn't have additional problems. He guaranteed that I would have ice within 24 hours and called back to make sure he was right - and he was! Totally professional, competent, and a pleasure to have in my home. Wow! This company IS as good as it gets!!! The repair man arrived promptly, the day after I called. My KitchenAid refrig was leaking intermittently. The repair was neat, clean, professional & efficient! He told me exactly what the repair bill would cost. As he worked, he explained (& showed me) what he was doing and why. He kept the work area clean & dry. I asked him several questions apart from the leak. Again, he showed me & explained how to turn the ice maker on, where the filter was, how to remove it, where to get a new one & reminded me to take the model # of the refrig. This good man was kind & polite. I cannot say Thank You enough for the 100%+ totally great service. A friend recommended Expert Appliance Services when the icemaker in our refrigerator died in the midst of a very stressful week. They offered a prompt appointment within a reasonable window, explained their (also reasonable) costs and fees, and promised to call a half hour before their technician arrived. Sam called when he was on his way, arrived masked and right on time, quickly saw the problem, and had the needed replacement and tools in his truck. After installing the replacement, he cleaned everything up (including the new equipment), made sure everything was good to go, and said he would call the next morning to make sure everything was working properly -- he did, and it was. Terrific same-day service on our Kenmore HE washing machine. We were told to expect a technician between 2 and 5. Sam arrived at two on the nose. He quickly diagnosed our problem. It was a bad actuator motor. He replaced it. But it didn't work! He next replaced the washer lid switch. It STILL didn't work. So Sam picked up another actuator motor, installed that one, and bingo!, we were in business. This took a while, but I give Sam full credit for correctly diagnosing the problem, and sticking with it until he had worked a fix. He was courteous, upfront about what he was doing and how much it would cost, and intent on making sure we were satisfied with the job. All in all, it was a great experience, and I wouldn't hesitate to call Expert Appliance Services again. read more

If all companies were like this one, the world would be a better place. Called in the morning, was given a same day arrival window of 12-3, and then Sam was here by 1:00 pm to fix my broker washer. Not only was Sam delightful, he was honest and explained everything to me so that I understood the issue. The job was a bear (the new front loaders are awful, if you ask me), but he solved the issue quickly and efficiently. He also made certain that the washer worked before he left, and even called me an hour later to make sure it was still working. I highly recommend Sam and this company. My only regret is that they don't also work on cars, a/c units, lawn equipment and plumbing fixtures. I would hire them for all of that, too!! ;-) read more

This is a great company! I've used them twice, once for the dryer and the other for the washer. Sam, the technician, is very knowledgeable and professional; he truly knows what he is talking about and can diagnose an issue quickly without giving the customer any sort of run-around. They are very quick to come out, possibly even the same day if needed. The price is also very reasonable for the amount of service and convenience provided. It is hard to find a company that cares so much about their clients without charging the extra cost. I am thoroughly impressed with the work performed and I will certainly contact them with any other repairs that we need around the house. Very solid 5/5 stars!! read more

This is third time I've used EAS, the first two times were with PJ, on a refrigerator and a stove. Both times the service was fast, reliable, done on the same day I called. Prices are very reasonable for how quick they respond to a call. Today we got Sam, he diagnosed the problem with our washer within a minute, he had it fixed within a half hour. Sam was very courteous, and professional. He explained what he was doing and let me watch the repair. He also cleaned underneath the washer when he moved it out to work on it.
