This company was assigned to a work order for a clog is a bathroom sink at my house. They sent someone to my house who spent less than 5 minutes looking at the pipes from a distance. They never touched anything. They then said they needed authorization from the warranty company to complete the work. Approximately 2 weeks later I received a call from them asking if I'd received a call from the warranty company explaining the denial of coverage. No, no I hadn't. They proceed to tell me that the sink and cabinet will need to be replaced because the plumber doesn't think he can do the repair without damaging them and AHW (warranty company) doesn't cover cosmetic work. I ask how much they estimate that will cost me, to which, without laughing, she responded something close to $2500. Are you flipping kidding me? Over $2k to replace a vanity? I think not! This is when I knew without a doubt,kind of company this was. They then proceeded to tell me my pipes in the bathroom AND laundry room would need modified because they aren't up to code and may be tied together. Umm, excuse me but I called about a clogged sink, not a bathroom remodel, and how can you determine all of this in less than 5 minutes AND you never even tried to unclog it?? I call shady business practices and thinking you found a dumb girl who you could take for a ride. From the other reviews I've read, this isn't unusual. I get that warranty companies are desperate for service companies and you all write your tickets in a way that allows them to deny coverage, so they probably love you, but you well and truly suck for the customer! American Home Shield Home Warranty assigned Blue Ridge Mountain Plumbing to repair a faucet in my house. When the plumbers showed up they diagnosed the problem, and told me the faucet needed a trim kit replaced. Normally a $300 fee. But the plumbers told American Home Shield that they could not diagnose the problem. So American Home Shield denied the claim. How can you diagnose the problem, and not be able to diagnose the problem, at the same time? I called Blue Ridge Mountain Plumbing several times asking them to fix the error. They would not help me. American Home Shield tried to call them multiple times, but they would not answer the phone or return calls. So I initiated a 3-way call with American Home Shield and Blue Ridge Mointain Plumbing. As soon as the Plumbing company associate realized American Home Shield was also on the call... CLICK... they hung up. That's interesting... Why did the plumbing company refuse to tell the warranty company about their error? Why would they refuse to even talk to them? Why wouldn't they talk to me? HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE. JERKS. If you don't want to do contract work for home warranty companies, then get off of their list of contractors. Finally last week a friend of mine looked at my faucet, went to Lowe's, bought a $12 handle, installed it in five minutes, and now it works great! No trim kit needed after all. It makes me sick when contractors take advantage of home owners' lack of knowledge and try to screw them over. Disgusting. read more

What started out to be a flaming review worthy of the fall of Pompeii, I'm giving fair credit were fair credit is due. I saw Victor S' review too late after I had begun service for a water heater installation via American Home Shield (a great home warranty service btw that has paid for itself). Because of my own initial experience, I was prepared to put BRMP on blast. Our first visit was great with Daniel. The dispatching and scheduling had a few hiccups, but he came out and was informative, honest and to the point. Afterwards we were looking forward to replacing our badly leaking water heater. There were multiple scheduling and lack of communication errors (i.e. couldn't reach anyone on the phone numbers listed for confirmations or anything else). We had two weekends and plans blown because of this. When we finally got to the weekend of installation, it was a rough day...for everyone. The techs were very nice, but the day was anything but smooth. I was assured of an 8:00 AM start time to make up for the missed other weekend; this one didn't start until 10:30 AM. My wife's day planned agenda shot to hell. The old original State water heater, through no fault of the techs, did not want to go quietly. Plumbing comes with it's own adversities and quality is in the plumber(s) that are patient and skilled enough to handle the troubleshooting and work around. The water heater was full of sediment that would not allow drainage and thus the lightening of an 800 lbs gorilla. The two techs, through creativity, got the thing out and eventually got the new one installed. Throughout the installation things just never synced up, including: one tech needing to leave mid-install, another not turning the breaker back on to charge the unit and heat the water upon leaving. It can happen, no worries. I remembered and tripped the thing back on myself. There was hot water and we're all happy. Three days later, lukewarm water for my shower before work. Leaks from the top of the unit and water temp way below 100 degrees. We first notified AHS, then placed numerous calls to the numbers we had for the plumbers. Nothing, nada, no contact. My wife googled them and found another number...we got someone named James to confirm an appointment was actually made (late morning); to arrive within an hour. Mind you, I called AHS at 8:30 AM. Our appointment was not kept until late afternoon and...they were sending an "apprentice". *sigh* I must now say that this "apprentice" dispelled all of my apprehensions and frustrations. Scott attacked the problems straight way. He was methodical and objective in troubleshooting, diagnosing and then developing a solution for all that was ailing this new water heater. Our unit consisted of a Bradford White Electric Water Heater with water pan, a Booster and Expansion Tank to make sure everything was up to code. What he found was some mechanical installation faults and then some internal heating element problems which are still a mystery (copper screw type immersion element had over heated and warped). His dedication to fixing the problem was admirable. Scott said he will remain there through the evening until the problems are fixed properly and to our satisfaction. He was good to his word. He had to leave, to obtain a tool but had a very timely return despite terrible weather. My wife said he was very polite; since my visit began before I arrived home from work. He kept me informed via phone what he was discovering with the faulty unit. Gabriel (a tech from the initial install) also returned to assist. Both worked to bring that unit back to efficient working order; making sure to take the time to answer my many questions as to what happened, why, expectations in performance and assurance it won't fail again and proper contact information to reach them in the future should something arise. I can say, honor was restored and I would work with them again. If an organization works hard to fix it's mistakes to preserve their name and reputation with action then bravo and kudos where they are due. American home shield dispatched this company. The first visit the employee claimed the pipe in the septic was destroyed and "it looked like an animal destroyed the pvc pipe and we should have someone look to see if there is a hole in the septic." I hired another company to come repair the issue after AHS advised me that they will only cover the floaters. I agreed with AHS to allow Blue Ridge Mountain Plumbing to come back to fix the floaters after the other company fixed the issues that wasn't covered. The other company came out looked at the issue and advised me the floaters are bad but the PVC pipe is fine and the pump just disconnected from the pipe they then reconnected the pipe and turned the pump back on. When advised the employee from Blue Ridge Mountain Plumbing what the other company said the employee said "oh I didn't actually look at anything but the floater but I had to put something on the form for your warranty company" I then explained the warranty company denied coverage because of what he put on the form claiming the damage. The second visit they were supposed to fix the floaters they claimed to show up and the office sent me pictures of them in my driveway but it looked like the day the showed up for the first visit. She said they knocked on the door ring the doorbell and called. My number was updated with AHS and the technician from Blue Ridge Mountain Plumbing to my brothers phone number due to phone issues with my cell. They never called my brothers phone the camera mounted on the corner of my house doesn't show anyone walking to my door and the ring doorbell didn't show anyone ringing the doorbell. This guy obviously just didn't want to do his job but the company does have pictures that aren't time or date stamped compared to my video evidence that is time and dated. I wouldn't suggest using these people I've even called several times to have them resolve the issue and haven't received any response after they emailed the pictures and at this point I've left several messages. read more

It's been 3 weeks and I have not received my refund on the $700 they owe me for what my home warranty was not covering. This is the worst experience I have ever had with any service company. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!! My home warranty company (American Home Shield) sent this sorry excuse of a company to diagnose whether my hot water heater could be repaired or replaced. They came out and indicated I needed a new water heater. They failed to file and report the issue to the warranty company for eight days. I tried calling Blue Ridge Mountain several times and they lacked the integrity and courtesy to get back to me. I was then told that the warranty only partially covered the water tank replacement and that I would have to pay part of the replacement. I immediately agreed to the amount not covered. However they have now disappeared. I have been without hot water for three weeks. Reading other reviews and their piss pour excuses is disgusting. This company needs to be shutdown. read more

This company was assigned by my home warranty company. It was very difficult to get ahold of the company initially. After I nearly gave up, they finally reached out to me and set up a 9am-noon start time the following day. As of noon, the person had not called. I had to call to figure out what was going on. I was then promised the technician would be here in an hour or two. The company instead proceeded to cancel my service request without telling me. I had to find out from the home warranty company a few hours later. Now I'm left without gas and heat for my family before a night that is expected to be 30 degrees. read more

Had to get a new toliet but when Jeff keft there were a ton of snakes and frogs in my bathroom. i think he put them there. he never came back and I called for weeks, he started to come back and park outside my house in the van. he drove away when i'd come out or call his phone. more lizards every day. American Home Shield scheduled BRMP to come and fix our leaking pipes. Was supposed to be here from 1-4 PM for a simple valve replacement. At 1:15, decided to call to see where tech was, then saw email that was sent saying appointment was rescheduled for 5 days later! NO PHONE CALL, NO TEXT, just an email through the AHS system! Could NOT get ANYONE at BRMP to answer phone or return phone messages. After reading previous reviews, thinking we probably dodged a bullet here; do NOT use these yahoos. read more

Blue Ridge Mountain Plumbing is a farce of a company and should be reported to the better business bureau. Not only did I have to call them MULTIPLE times after they initially came out to do service on my water heater, the lapse in communication was outrageous. Although my home warranty company initially gave them the go-ahead to perform the service, they still took over three weeks to even answer my calls. I suppose they got tired of my calls because they eventually blocked my telephone number. ‍ Nevertheless , I had a better company come out and they fixed the issue on the spot. Terrible service. Our home warranty(AHS) has this company as a contractor. I HIGHLY recommend you cancel! They can't even call you to set up an appt! When you finally get an appt they change it without notice. I have a voicemail that Warrenty company confirmed for a Tuesday, when I called they answered and said he was running a little late and then texted me 9 minutes later to tell me my appt is actually on Friday. Earlier this week this company scheduled an appointment with me for the afternoon of 16 July 2021, a Friday. 2/3 through the appointed time block I received an email from my home warranty company reminding me of an appointment 5 days hence, 20 July 2021. I called Blue Ridge Mountain - voicemail. I called Blue Ridge Mountain on its emergency number - voicemail. Toward the end of my appointment block I received a text from Blue Ridge Mountain, you guessed it, the truck broke down. I cancelled my appointment through the home warranty company. It was a tankless they were clueless but I use a warranty company I resisted having them ever come back but with another leak the warranty company insisted. Gabriel the owner was nice enough to come himself but said he didn't work on whirlpools. But he could figure it out. Yet he reported it as broken jets and not a broken motor. Blue Ridge was dispatched to my home through American Homeshield. I put a claim in to cover leaks as I wasn't certain of the problem. I noted on the claim 2 leaks and 1 stoppage. The technician fixed one leak in the house after cutting himself on a pipe and bleeding on my rugs. He later asked for peroxide to clean up his mess. My main concern was noisy piper that the technician described as water hammer. As he went to diagnose the noise, he discovered that there was a leak in the main water supply. I asked questions regarding whether it was covered and would I head back. I left 3 messages regarding the issue with Josh who said there was a message in the system that the owner would handle. I called American Homeshield several times looking for a response. American Homeshield finally got the contracts specialist involved at which point Blue Ridge wasn't honest. I finally said that I would pay American Homeshield a new service fee to avoid Blue Ridge coming back into my home. read more

This company is a complete joke as the reviews obviously show. They where dispatched to our house by American Home Shield (also a joke) to look at our propane water heater. They have now been out 4 times in total ordered parts every single time and we still have NO HOT WATER. This has been going on for 4 weeks now. Our home was just put on the market at the beginning of all this and we have sold and are closing this Thursday. We have literally sold our house quicker than this company could repair our water heater. They ordered parts twice for a natural gas instead of propane unit and now we have no idea what the issue is. Yesterday the repairmen came around 5pm (4th time) pulled parts off and left them all over our basement floor and no word on what the issue is at this point. AVOID THIS COMPANY AT ALL COST!! It appears our closing will be delayed due to there incompetence! The also forced us to pay an additional $75 to bring something to code according to them that the code book showed was in fact already within code. RUUUN!! read more

Horrific level of service. Doesn't keep appointments. Doesn't call. Avoid at all costs!

At first I found BRMP to be great, I had put a request for my water heater to be repaired through our home warranty and BRMP responded in minutes; even went as far as calling right away to make sure it was flooding our house. They came out to asses the problem the next day. That's where the super snappy follow ups started to fade. It took another TWO WEEKS for them to actually set up a time to come install the new heater- two weeks of mopping up water from the floor. They were polite and efficient during the install. After using the new heater for a few days (expecting the kinks to work out on it's own) I left multiple messages (4) for BRMP because we didn't actually have hot water, it was warm at best. Never followed up, I eventually gave up. In general when they were actually at my home they were great, but don't expect to hear from them otherwise. read more

We Showed them the problem and they want to fix a piece that keeps breaking. We told them we want a new system so they don't have to keep fixing the "temporary fix" and we are willing to pay whatever the cost but they keep insisting they just want to fix the same piece. What type of company is this? We told them we will pay to install a brand new system but they just want to fix the piece that keeps getting bad a soon u put it on. Failed to complete the work when they finally did show up and blew us off on the day of our most recent scheduled appointment for another client. Recommend never using these guys!!! Blue Ridge Mountain plumbing was dispatched by my home appliance insurance for a leaking water heater. They confirmed that we needed a replacement, but decided to capitalize on the opportunity. They claimed that there were several upgrades we needed to be code compliant, totaling $675 out of pocket. After calling the county to confirm none of these were needed I called them. The response I received was belligerent and rude. This company is totally unethical. I saw where another response thanked them for keeping him in compliance with the expansion tank, I hope he checked out his local codes. My home warranty company (American Home Shield) recommended Blue Ridge Mountain Plumbing to fix my hot water heater. They came out in December 2020 to replace my water heater. In the process they made a huge mess of my bathroom (where the heater is located) and damaged my bathroom floor. They assured me they would replace my floor. I had numerous texts between myself and Dan (repair man) and James (the owner) from January 2021 to June 2021. They supposedly ordered a new floor and the last text I got from James said they would install the new floor before July 4th, 2021. I have sent numerous text messages to both and called numerous numbers with no response from any of them. I have call the warranty company 4 times to try to help get this resolved and nothing has happened as of today (9/13/21). They keep telling me someone will get back to me in 24 to 48 hours. Blue Ridge is not responding to me or the warranty company and no one is calling me back. Meanwhile my floor is still damaged. I am a very unpleased customer! read more

This company was chosen by home warranty company to replace hot water heater. After replacing a part that just seemed unreasonable as to why the hot water heater was broken, they were out two weeks later to replace the entire unit. Unfortunately at this point they determine that I owed some out of pocket cost to replace the system that the home warranty would not cover. While I questioned this with home warranty company I was either forced to pay this to get work done or pay additional fee for 2nd estimate. It seemed odd that some of the cost that I was being told I had to pay would not have been part of reimbursements from warrant company to this company. Other cost were for things that could not be replaced but I had to pay or they would not do the work. After the work was done it was agreed that I would be reimbursed for items I paid for but not provided. As the saying goes "that check is in the mail" two months later still nothing and now no follow-up return calls or emails. read more

I left about 10 messages over a 4 day period and not once did someone pick up or return a call. My guess is that they are out of business and if they aren't, they should be! I spoke to one of their competitors in Spotsylvania, VA who claims he is getting rich off of their complete incompetency. Assigned 1star cause it's the lowest rating. Should be minus 1 as this company is a complete sham . Their business address is a double wide on a side bumpy dirt road off Lawyers Road in Spotsy. They replaced a part ina Moen faucet that now requires a professional Plummer to fix correctly. The they moved on to my propane fireplace logs saying that a major component replaced by them in 2018 was under warranty and promised to get the part and return to finish the work shortly. Now almost three weeks later, my calls and emails go unanswered when I request a return date. Suspect they block my number or don't have the nerve to return. Understand that this group is involved in multiple businesses that are under multiple lawsuits for both poor business and personal practices. As they saying goes, you get what you pay for so look for a more reputable company that will meet your needs instead of providing hollow promises. read more

Avoid Blue Ridge Mountain at all cost!! They were dispatched to my house through American Home Shield (AHS avoid also) on 6/20 for leaks in plumbing. They fixed some of the problem then said that they didn't have enough material on the truck, and to call back to reschedule. I called back and they scheduled for Monday 6/24 but never showed up. James, who I guess is the owner, had sent an email at 9:30 Sunday night that he had to reschedule and would call me the next day. He didn't, so I had to call him that evening. He stated that I need to open up another service ticket through AHS and tell them there are 20 leaks. (That's so they get more money from AHS) So I opened another ticket and they scheduled to come back out on 6/27, and guess what.....they never called or showed up. All I got was an answering machine when I called. AHS couldn't get in touch with them until 6/28 and the lady from AHS told me that James hung up on her twice. So now James says that I need to pay an additional $800 for something that is covered under my contract. They won't be coming back to do work for me and I will tell everyone that I know to avoid this scam company!!! It's sad that I even had to give them 1 star. read more
