Came here with mom and sisters. We were seated right away on Saturday but we came around 5:15 pm. The place wasn't full yet. They don't take reservations. We ordered fried calamari. It came with a hot marinara sauce. It was delicious. My mother ordered broiled flounder with baked potatoes and salad. I ordered make my own 3 items which included fried Soft shell crab, fired scallops and crab cake with sides of baked potatoes and onion rings. All dishes came with hush puppies. My sister had fried oysters. They said the broiled flounder had no taste. I liked all my dishes though the crab cake was saltier for me than I normally like. They give you all sorts of sauce and special butter for the baked sweet potatoes. The waitress was really nice and came back and refilled my soda a lot. It's an old restaurant and the ambience is lots of people come here for seafood. Considering it's not close to any sea, it's pretty good. I forgot to take photos to share. The place itself is simple, casual and reminded me of those by the pier fresh catch type restaurant we used to visit during summer break in San Francisco and Seattle. The dishes prepared in a very simple natural way without excess seasoning or breading. Very tasty, fresh and reasonably priced. We had a party of 9 and ordered the steamed crab legs and mussels for sharing. Fried calamari which was lightly coated and super crispy-delicious. We had the fish tacos, lobster tails, the build your own 3 item meal ( crab legs, steamed shrimp and crab cake) this combo was amazing. The crab meat unlike any other I've had before. My wife and I ate dinner there on 8/9/2025. My wife had crab legs, sweet potato fries and coleslaw slaw. Crab legs were sweet, tender, perfectly cooked, delicious. She liked the sweet potato fries. She liked the coleslaw slaw but to me it was too sweet. It needed some vinegar or lemon juice. I had the blue ridge dinner. The scallops were cooked perfectly. The shrimp were overcooked, rubbery. The crab cake was tasty, not the best crab cake I've had. The fish was overcooked and under seasoned. The clamp straps were OK, couldn't really taste any clam flavor. The tarter sauce was tasty. The cocktail sauce was tasty. I was disappointed in the shrimp and the fish. If I went back, I'd get the crab legs. Our server was excellent. read more

We had high hopes for this restaurant, and don't get me wrong we will go again to give it a second chance and someone invites us because we will not make the drive ever again. They were super busy when we were there and it took almost an hour to get our food. Our entrees came out cold and I had to ask the waitress to please have mine remade. They said they made me a brand new entree but I took a bite before I returned it and the bite I took was still in the flounder I got lol. Ambiance was casual just like any seafood spot, it's in a small building so it's pretty cramped but when you want crabs and shrimp it's not a big deal. Our boys liked their entrees one of my boys got the mango mahi mahi and my other boy got the shrimp and crab leg entree. Overall an ok experience, but we aren't dying to come back. We absolutely love Blue Ridge Seafood!!! Anytime I'm craving seafood, I come to Blue Ridge. My absolute favorite is their snow crab legs. This time I've ordered 1.5 pounds and I enjoyed every pieces of it. They come with two sides and my recommendation is their sweet potato fries. They also serve some hush puppies as well and they are always so delicious! This time we've ordered oysters for the first time and I was beyond impressed!! Not only were they impressively large, but they were also incredibly fresh and flavorful. I've had oysters at other places in Nova but Blue Ridge truly stands out. I'm definitely coming back for more oysters! Depending on the time of day this place can be very busy, so we always try to go a little earlier for dinner. The servers are always attentive and nice. We decided to try this place on a whim because I was craving hush puppies again--and no, sis isn't pregnant, I just get these random cravings and won't stop until they're satisfied. Sadly, the hush puppies here were more like plain fried cornbread balls--pretty bland. That said, the rest of the meal was tasty and fairly priced, hubs had soft shell crab, he loved it and I had popcorn shrimp with onion rings - I would likely pass on those next time as well. We were there today at 11:45 for lunch, restaurant was not busy at all. Our server was not attentive, took a long time to take our drink order, then came back much later for our food order without our drinks. When our food was finally delivered, still no drinks, the food was lukewarm at best. We had to ask another server to bring our drinks. We spent more time waiting for our server than anything else. We have eaten here before but only had crabs, which they did not have today . We were very disappointed in the seafood platters we ordered, portions were very small and lacked seasoning as well as being lukewarm. We will reconsider before taking the trip from Woodbridge for another disappointing expensive lunch at Blue Ridge Seafood. This place was absolutely packed on Mother's Day weekend. Despite that, we were able to get seated immediately by opting to eat outside, in their open-air covered seating area. Our server was friendly and jovial, cracking jokes with us but she also made sure we were taken care of. The food was just alright. I don't like seafood so I didn't go in with high expectations, but I figure if you can fry a fish you can fry chicken tenders too. Which they can, but they were pretty plain. I wasn't the most impressed because it was not tall but it was a good size..not much chunk but a lot of minced crab meat. The coleslaw is also a great side! Very finely sliced and seasoned lightly. My lobster roll was incredible. My sides of a Caesar salad (up charge) and fries were both prepared perfectly. Great portions of it all. My roll was stacked high of sweet claw and tail meat. Worth the market price!! I got it hot with butter but they can also make it cold. We also shared the peach cobbler and it was similar to a bread pudding with a scoop of French vanilla ice cream on top. The best experience and food. All courses were superb. I would leave negative stars if this app would let me; I lived in Gainesville/Bristow area for years and have gone to this place multiple times; and throughout the years its gone from Mid to terrible; We ordered a crab cake sandwich and it was thinner than a sheet of paper! They tossed a lame piece of lettuce and tomato on it and called it a crab cake sandwich- it was honestly pathetic/ especially for the price. The thing is people keep coming back so they keep getting away with high prices and small portions, and bland food. We have been customers here since I moved to Warrenton in 1999. I typically stay away from the fried food in general. I LOVE their fried oysters! They are lightly breaded and always piping hot. I get the pick of 2 with both of them fried oysters. It can be a little expensive but worth the money in my opinion. This is a family type restaurant with a "wharf" type atmosphere. If you don't like the feeling of a huge family gathering with paper on the tables then this restaurant is not for you. Get there early evening or you will have to work on finding a parking spot. There's quite a selection of items and I went with the Blue Ridge combination: sauteed crab cake, haddock, shrimp, sea scallops, and clam strips. Sides I chose were fries and corn. All the seafood was perfect. The crab cake is a little on the small side and the clam strips are always a mix of little fried bits and bigger strips, but it's a great meal. I'm sorry - I just don't understand how this place stays in business. Over the years the food - in my opinion - has never been better than mediocre at best. Our most recent visit, however, was a complete catastrophe. Alaskan crab legs were obviously frozen and then boiled instead of steamed. Our table was served 3 Alaskan crab leg platters - all of which were tasteless - and had water sloshing around the plate soaking the hushpuppies. My husband ordered french fries - served cold and limp. Then (to add insult to injury), when he went to add ketchup, BLACK goo came out of the ketchup container. Even the sweet tea was tasteless. Absolutely my favorite place to get Maryland Blue Crabs in the Northern Virginia area. Always hard to find a good place for Maryland Blue Crabs, that cooks them perfectly and reasonable with pricing. I have been here numerous of times and have not had a bad experience. I've been so lucky to be able to get extra large and jumbo crabs all the times I've been. Every time I've gone I have opted for outdoor seating. The inside never appeals to me only because the inside seatings feels a bit more dim dreary. But the outdoor, you definitely have that beach vibe and feels like you're steps away from the oceanfront. It's very busy during Sunday lunch time, and the restaurant is a big short staffed. Most of the guests seem to already know what they want to order, but it took me a little while to decide what to try first - a lot of choices. I went to the Norfolk combo. The seafood was very fresh, and they did a great job on the chowder. It's loud in the dinning room, and a lot of families, but for a casual Sunday meal, that was okay. The food is good for the price. I always drive by this place and I finally decided to give it a try with my mom. We started off with the crab and lobster dip and it was absolutely amazing. It came fresh and hot and had big pieces of lobster in there which I was really happy. We decided to go there right when they opened and it was empty at first but it filled up pretty quick and the dinning area was nice with fish as decor. I got the pick 4 with snow crabs, popcorn shrimp, crab cake, and fried catfish with coslaw and Mac and cheese. Everything was really good although I'm not a big fan of the fried catfish or the Mac and cheese. The crab cake was definitely the best thing and the coslaw was delicious!! My mom went for the same pick 4 combo with broiled scallops, spiced shrimp, crab cake, and fried soft shell crab with coslaw and sweet potato fries. My mom enjoyed everything and we weren't able to finish all the food so we had to take it home! I would definitely come back although I'd probably just get take out!
