I forgot my credit card on the table. After an evening of dancing I went to pull out my credit card for a gas purchase and found my error. This was by far one of the worst dining experiences we've ever had. We decided to get a table outside as it was a nice evening and we had our dog with us. Our waitress seemed friendly enough as she engaged in conversation with us about our dog and asked if she could have a milk bone and we said . She went and got water for us, which came in a nice bottle, but was then served with two nasty plastic cups that had spots all over them and chips around the rim. It took a while for her to come back around to take our drink order but when she did, we ordered specialty drinks, my husband got the Southern Jam which, after one step I could tell by the look on his face, he was disgusted by it and I got the mocktail Farmer Tan which was spicy and hard on my throat, I guess it was the chipotle. We weren't super hungry so we only ordered appetizers. We got the melting pot fries and the hot shrimp and crab dip. I guess they're trying to be unique by using Chick-fil-A fries because that's exactly what they tasted like and you could barely taste the truffle or the Parmesan. The shrimp and crab dip came out and was a bright orange. It almost looked like it was supposed to be a buffalo dip. We've never seen any type of crab dip like this before. It had absolutely no flavor. We couldn't taste any crab it's only big chunks of shrimp, but again after three servings of it, there was no flavor and it was impossible to wash any of this food down with the nasty drinks. There were three other tables filled while we were outside, and the sun was beaming down. One of the customers got up and tried to turn the fan on with no luck. It didn't work and it seemed like the waitress had disappeared. We didn't see her in a while. I'm finally I had to go to the bar and ask for the check myself once she came out with it. My husband gave her his card and when she came back, we discovered that we had been rung up with someone else's bill, which was $30 more than ours. I then went up to the window again, and the bartender was ringing up somebody else so he couldn't help me and told me that the waitress would fix it. She then came out with the correct receipt, but we still had no evidence of the the wrong charge on our card which my husband checked his account and had already been charged for. So I went back up to the window again and asked for a receipt showing that the credit was made or avoid or something, and the waitress was getting flustered because she didn't know how to do that and had to call someone else over to help her. They said they've avoided the transaction, but couldn't print anything out showing it just said the charge has been made so now we have to monitor our account to make sure that this was indeed credited to us. After having a horrible food experience, and then being charged for the wrong bill, we will never be back here again. Oh and we never got the milk bone for a dog either. UPDATE: I see the owner has responded and I do understand how a bank works because I used to actually work for one. # 1) I have not been calling you. #2) The majority of the review was about the food, drinks and service. Get your facts straight before you do a public unprofessional response. All the more reason to not recommend this business to anyone. The right thing to do would have just been to apologize for the bad experience like any professional business owner which you're clearly not. read more

We were here for lunch while visiting our kids and grandkids. The outdoor area was a great spot for the kids to play in while we visited, even if other patrons had been there at the time (the indoor seating was full). There are fans and shade on hot, sunny days. Since we didn't talk about the food during the visit, i don't know specifically what they thought of their meals this visit, but they did recommend the restaurant, so, there's that. I ordered a spinach salad and the poppers. I really loved the salad and my husband enjoyed several bites of greens, bacon, egg, and delicious. The server had to tell me that my poppers had "popped" in the fryer and were not serve-able. I remembered grilled cheeses on the menu and asked for one of those--i didn't care which. He described each to me and recommended one... i don't remember the name now, but it was the one with the apple and paired perfectly with my hard cider. My husband got the chick-fil-a sandwich: a patty that was thick, fat, and juicy just like chick-fil-a-- only better (lighter and crispier) and thicker. The veg and sauces were well balanced and complementary; the bread had a slight, pleasant chew without being too heavy. I am looking forward to eating here again. read more

Ambience was nice. The restaurant is located in a historic building off of a side street. The seating is limited, very casual. The service was good. The food was average. My party of 3 ordered The Cast Iron Breakfast (it was Sunday and they serve brunch which is nice), The Lancer and The Blue Steel Burger. The burger and grilled cheese were both good. The elote dip that was ordered as an appetizer but came out with our food was a bit overcooked as were our waffle fries. The breakfast dish only came with one pancake even though the description lists pancakes as plural and the one pancake that was received was definitely not homemade although the server claimed it was. It was hard and appeared to have been microwaved. Disappointing meal even though the menu was promising. If they got better cooks, this could be good. Edit: No Wesley, I didn't say everything was good except the pancake. If you read my review you would see that I also felt the fries and the elote were overcooked and yes we did bring up our concerns with the server but nothing was done to correct the issue. My husband I go here all the time bc we love the food. The last few times the outside seating areas wait staff were wasted. We wanted to do a big family dinner there but worried about which staff member we would get. Very cute place great food just SOME of the staff is iffy. Service was great our server Regan was fantastic . My food however was over priced for what I received and left something to be desired. I got the cast iron breakfast . It was supposed to have pancakes plural it came with one silver dollar size that was thin and as hard as a rock. It was inedible. I ordered a side of biscuits. It again came with 1 small hard biscuit not very edible. The eggs were just ok. The potatoes were the star. The description was home fries. They were just potato wedges but had a really nice seasoned flavor and were cooked well. Some of the other menu items looked interesting so I'd try something else. I stopped in with my wife and a friend for one drink at 5pm on Jan 23, 2026, place was empty! One young person at the bar, 1 bartender. Ordered 1 beer and 2 cocktails it took 20 minutes for the bartender to serve the drink b/c he was too busy taking to his buddy at the bar! I tried to pay my tab multiple times but eventually I had to interrupt his discussion with the other patron to ask for my tab then he acted surprised! I don't know what to think of this place, they want to compete within Warrenton but they run a 3rd rate operation! The bar was dirty the back bar was in disarray, they didn't have club soda, the bartender made a lemon martini but added olive juice and garnished with a lemon twist. The last time I visited the bartender was rude and the food was terrible. I don't see this place lasting another year, I don't understand how it is sustainable with the high prices and low quality food and drink. I know someone that worked there briefly (10+ years food & beverage experience), they confirmed it's run by people that don't know what they are doing and they don't want to listen to critical feedback from the employees or the customers. Came here with a group of over 20 and used their outdoor deck. The staff was incredibly accommodating to our entire group, including our dog. Despite the size of our party and how busy the restaurant was inside, service was friendly, attentive, and quick. The food was excellent across the board, from the tacos and salads to the burgers. I had an absolutely amazing time at Cast Iron Craft House during my most recent visit. I sat at the bar and spoke to the owner almost the entire night. He was working on planning new events for the space upstairs and telling me the story of how their business got started. I got a grilled cheese and a wine for half off because of their Wednesday special, and the combination was DIVINE. They serve generous portions and the food is perfectly crafted (no pun intended). Every wine I tried is excellent. The owner told me that he consulted a French Sommelier when compiling the wine menu, and it SHOWS. I will be coming to this place EVERY time I visit and telling everyone about it! Old Town Warrenton needs more businesses like this! Next time I will take pictures ;) read more

The waiter was nonexistent, food was bland. Summing up the experience, the initial order for drinks was 15 mins before the waiter acknowledged our table. Ordered two drafts, one app and two meals. They had whites and a few others, too. We had the hot shrimp and crab dip. My husband had the buffalo chicken sandwich minus the blue cheese and said it was one of the best-best flavor, proportion, and nice and saucy. We were in Warrenton area to play pickleball. We found this place on Yelp with good reviews. We were about 11 of us. It was around 8 pm when we arrived there. Staff were very nice to move the tables around to accommodate us. They told us about two ways to place an order - online using the barcode or via one of their staff members. I tried the online version, but it kinda messed up the order as I was getting someone else's order under my tab. I pointed that to the staff and placed the order through her. For apps, I ordered bacon deviled eggs with salad. Classic bar food. Always enjoy a nice deviled egg with cold beer. For mains, I ordered the Puerto Rican roast pork. Roast pork was delicious. Slightly dry. Wish it was juicy. I have had slightly better version in Puerto Rico. However, this one comes pretty close to the original version. Ambiance is good. Nothing too special about it. One of the negatives from one of my friends was that he regretted ordering the Mac & cheese with pork which cost him $21 excluding tips and tax. I think it's overpriced for a bowl of Mac & cheese with some pork belly on it. Parking can be hard to find here. There are many restaurants and bars in this area. read more

The service I just had at this place on a Friday nonetheless was absolutely god awful. My family (there was 3 of us and 1 being a toddler) and I got here around 6 and ended up leaving an hour and a half later and not by choice. It took more than 40 minutes for us to get our food. I was absolutely shocked that the food that was delivered to me took 40 minutes. RETHINK YOUR SPECIALS. I ordered the shrimp poke bowl for $18 mind you and the serving size was laughable. There was 1/4 cup or less of rice for my "bowl" and the shrimp that I did get were miniature lol. Maybe the size of a nickel. How do you get away with charging $18 for this poor excuse of a special. Although I was excited at the concept of the cast-iron cooking, I was left a bit disappointed by the food. But the alcoholic mixed drinks alone merit a visit! They have a small interior (though they do expand it when they are busy to include a large upstairs dining room) and a nice outdoor patio. The bartender was extremely friendly and engaging, making sure to check on us frequently despite us being the only people crazy enough to sit outside on a blustery day. Ultimately, we just weren't that impressed with the food. My wife and I split a hummus and baba ghanoush appetizer. While I appreciate it was freshly made, the hummus was more solid than I prefer (I like my hummus Mediterranean style - smooth and creamy) and the baba ghanoush garlic levels overwhelmed everything. It did come with a mountain of pita and veggies to dip though, so I appreciated the generous serving. I ordered the Cast-Fil-A sandwich and was left a bit disappointed. The grilled chicken was dry and lacked any spice or other flavoring. That wouldn't have mattered if the secret sauce had been plentiful, but there was so little of it that it got swallowed by the bun. So ultimately it was a bit of a dry grilled chicken sandwich. More disappointing were the awesomely-named Furnace fries. I got mine "copper smelted," i.e., dusted in paprika, cayenne, and chili powder. Unfortunately, I just didn't think the spices came together harmoniously and I generally found the taste unpleasant. I also typically like waffle fries, but these were neither thick enough to give me the pleasing potato feel or crunchy enough to add a snap to my lunch. What I definitely vouch for are the drinks. They have a really great cocktail menu with pop-culture themed drinks. We went with the Paddington (the Bear) inspired peanut butter (via Screwball) and orange marmalade drink and it was really memorable and delicious, I haven't found anything else like it. My wife went with The Office themed Bears, Beets, and Battlestar Galactica. We were skeptical of a beet-infused drink but it was delicious and, again, wholly unique! read more

Terrible experience. The restaurant was not even busy, and we waited 15 minutes at our table to be approached, and after ordering lunch we waited 45 minutes for our food to be brought out. Which was simply three burgers. That should have taken 15 minutes max to prepared. Our food was finally ready and brought out to the wrong table. We told them to just cancel making new ones and we would leave as god knows how much longer we would have to wait. We received our check and frankly we should have at least had a discount, but no we still had to paid for the soda, mocktail, and appetizer we had- which was also not that good. I've been to this restaurant on 3 separate occasions. On each occasion I hoped for a better experience, but each time I left disappointed. The first time was for my birthday and we ordered appetizers and burgers. The appetizers were fries and some cheese curds I believe and neither of them were anything of note. The burgers were not worth the price we paid for them and while nothing was "bad," nothing tasted so good that I thought, "I have to have this again." For $150 for 4 people, it was not worth it. The second experience was the same as the first. My third and final experience, my friend and I went and ordered the crab & shrimp dip, which was lackluster. My friend got a burger and I got a salad and added bacon. To be precise, the salad was the Avocado & Tomato Salad w/ bacon which was an $18 salad. I can say in all honesty, the salad was maybe worth $12. A salad at Chick-fil-a is better. At the end of the meal, a man came walking in the restaurant (2 o'clock in the afternoon) who was clearly already inebriated. He sat down and was served a beer. For some reason, the person behind the bar offered us the information that she had 3 DUIs and the man then so generously offered that he had 4 DUIs and also couldn't drive as he gulps his beer and tells us he rode his motorcycle there. All that to say, it was an experience. That man should not have been served. He was slurring his words and I could already smell the alcohol on him. Our original plans changed so we decided to try this place out. The inside is done up nicely and has a warm inviting vibe. You pick your own table with several options (bar, high top tables, regular tables, or outside patio). We chose a high top. Menus and silverware are already at the table. We started out with a few drinks then ordered our food. For drinks we went with an Alewerks Tavern, Latin Mango Slap, and a Jingle Bell Smash. The Latin Mango Slap was our favorite. For dinner my wife went with the Orchard Grilled Cheese and side salad and I ordered the Smith your own burger with mushrooms and caramelized onions. The food was delicious especially the orchard grilled cheese. The only negative was that the service was slow, it was about 45 minutes to get our food and drink refills were slow. Overall a solid okay dining experience. The location is off the cute Main Street in Warrenton. The building and decor style is a modern rustic vibe and most importantly is clean. You do go up to order or you scan a barcode to order from the table. Staff was friendly and did check on us to see if we needed anything else. The main reason I say OK is because the food was edible but I felt it was missing a kick of flavor. Our spinach dip and pita bread was good but again lacked a pop of flavor. My husband and I each did the make your own burgers, and while the burger was cooked well it was again missing some sort of stand out flavor. Used to have the best burgers in town, but no longer. The medium burger was well done and the patty resembled something you would get from McDonald's. The server had the burger remade and it was still overcooked. Fries on the side used to be a hearty serving but alas, no more. Cocktails are still good. Tried Cast Iron Craft House last night for the first time, and it was a good experience. The restaurant is VERY nice and clean inside, in spite of it being one of the town's older buildings. Staff were very, very nice, and they all seemed to be trying very hard. Most notably, I was struck by the complete lack of pretense with the staff. One of the waitresses who had just gone off duty came over and chatted with us for a while before our food came...just because. The food was good American fare. While modern, it was not pretentious. The only knock is that it was expensive for what you got. Portions were not huge, which is fine with me, but pricing was pricing where you'd expect leftovers. Entrees for the three of us, with one appetizer (pizza bites), one beer, and one $3 upgrade for a salad, was $88, not including tip. I realize that prices are up, and the Town Of Warrenton has a restaurant tax out the wazoo, but that was still steep. In summary, ambiance / service was five stars, food was four stars, and price was three stars. So, it averages out to a four star experience. read more

Not a fry guy but looked great wife had the truffle ones and liked them. Service was decent but maybe short staffed for a bit of delay. We were in Warrenton for a wedding and wanted to try a new local place. Restaurant is very clean and looks newly renovated. We walked in and were ... confused. There is no one to greet you so we walked to the bar. There were two bartenders who ignored us for several minutes. It was about 8 pm so they weren't super busy. All they had to do was look up and say, "Go ahead and sit anywhere" or "Be right with you." Nothing. The lone waiter finally acknowledged us and told us to sit anywhere. The bartender did come over and get our drink order right away. We put our order into the phone and waited. And waited. And waited. There were maybe 10 other people there and they all had food already. We ordered an app, a grilled cheese, and a burger. I have no idea what took so long. The bartender even came over and asked if we put a food order in. After about 20-25 minutes the appetizer finally arrived. We got the cheese fritters. Otherwise known as disappoint balls. I was expecting cheese curds with a cheese pull. They were greasy hush puppies and if cheese was inside, it was undetectable. The menu said "crispy outside, melty inside." Nope. We didn't finish them but I did use the dips for my fries. The grilled cheese and burger came out right after the appetizer was set down. I got the the Lancer grilled cheese. Limp, chewy bacon and the cheese wasn't melted. The Bleu Steel Burger was far superior. Delicious, funky bleu cheese and tender caramelized onions. Yum. Luckily my husband shared. It fell apart but it was worth it. We did order spice on our fries. I got a slight sprinkle. My husband's had zero. Fries were lukewarm and limp. Look, we were prepared for the QR code menu based on Yelp reviews but it was still weird to have absolutely no human contact after that. We needed more napkins. We never had anyone to ask so we took some from another table. We needed a fork. We never got the chance to ask anyone for it. And we don't need someone up our ass. In fact, leave us alone. But sometimes you just need something you can't steal from a neighboring table. If they hire one more waiter I think it could fix a lot of the problems. read more
