I got the jumbo stone crab claws and, fish and shrimp ceviche. For 1lb of stone crab, one gets three huge claws, which can be cracked for eating on the spot. The stone crab flesh was substantial, juicy and sweet and was complemented well by the mustard sauce (sold separately). The mustard sauce was not overpowering and certainly was not cloying (If you end up with leftover sauce, it goes really well with roast beef sandwiches too! #justsaying). The ceviche was really tasty too, with the right amount of sourness and spiciness in the juices. The pieces of fish and shrimp were also soft enough to bite right through and, together with the juices, gave a satisfying fullness in the mouth. read more

Blue Runner Seafood is a truck that sells all kinds of fresh seafood parked on Biscayne Blvd. around NE114th Street. (Just north of Miami Shores). They are there on weekends and sometimes late afternoon on Thursday and Friday. Call just call to be sure they are there. We have been buying seafood from "Paco", the owner for some time and all I can say it is the freshest, best priced fish, crab and shrimp around. I am writing this review because I want to be sure he gets as much business as possible so we have a place to get this great fish for a long time! You would think Miami would have loads of fish markets but we do not. The stuff in the supermarkets suck and besides that, I can only think of a couple of other decent places and not all of them are convienent to me. My girlfriend and I found this seafood truck when we were down in Miami recently. I was skeptical at first, but very impressed by the product. The truck was easy to find too which isn't always the case with food trucks. We picked up some shrimp and fish ceviche and some stone crab claws. The price was completely fair for what we got. More importantly, everything was ridiculously fresh - even by coastal standards. The stone crab claws were huge and had great meat in them. They weren't fishy at all and paired excellently with the rest of our meal. My only drawback would be those thick stone crab shells! They can be tough to crack, but that comes with the territory. The ceviche was my personal favorite. Huge chunks of fish and whole shrimp were cooked wonderfully in the citrus juices which weren't overly acidic like so many ceviches. The sauce itself was some of the best I've ever had - a touch of spice and a decent viscosity. The only miss was the remoulade mustard which was forgettable. I would say this truck rates more like a 4.5 star operation to me. If you feel like having a great seafood meal while staying in, this is a perfect option in Miami. read more

I really don't want to review this place, because they already sell out of the good stuff often. They are there by 10am or 10:30am Saturday and Sundays. Right next to the shady pink strip club on Biscayne... Fish and strippers. We discovered it about 4 months ago, and we come every other week to stock up. Considering Miami is on the water and has some fantasic local seafood the fish markets (especially Publix) aren't very good. I can assure you this is the best fish you'll find in the area. So Blue Runner is like a Twinkie... "How?" you might ask... Well, lets start with the fact that he is selling fish out of coolers in the back of a well signaged truck; then add to this fact that the land mark for knowing where he is setting up his truck is a Strip Club... Now, right there is two reasons why this place should be really sketchy, but honestly this had to be one of the greatest finds/adventures/fish experiences I have had. Ranks up there with my first visit to Pike Place Market in Seattle and seeing Salmon go flying right before my eyes. This whole situation seems shady (buying fish from the back of a guys truck, but I will say its a very nice truck ;), seems like there are so many reasons for it not to be this good... but Like a Twinkie, When you put it in your mouth its one of the tastiest things you will experience. Great place to get FRESH seafood! The prices are very reasonable and much cheaper than the grocery store for better quality fish. They have fresh-made ceviche and smoked salmon as well. The salmon is imported from Scotland and sometimes he has salmon from other places but we like the Scottish the best. We grill it and it comes out fantastic! He has different varieties of shrimp but we like the colossal peeled and deveined - it tastes like lobster if you cook it right. Really great family business - nice people. read more

Paco gets good stuff. Some is frozen - scallops, shrimp, and lobster tails. But his fresh fish is out of this world. The corvina is amazing and you won't find better salmon ANYWHERE! That includes Alaska and Oregon. Now, for a great treat, get his oyster cocktail. It is about 4-5 freshly shucked oysters with a clamato based liquid. Wonderful. The prices are reasonable, and the quality is great. Whether by himself or with his wife, Paco provides great service... Cutting fish to your needs. Value proposition is very good! Two rules...
