Be aware they will manage to every detail of the contract and charge you unexpected charges for things you did not do. Our stay was fine although the cabin was not cleaned and trash had not been hauled off. Then two weeks later got an email saying we were being charged $75 for loose trash. They provided a photo taken 3.5 days after our stay showing banana peels that were not ours in the bottom of an empty outdoor trash can. In spite of our email response that it was not ours they never responded and processed the charge anyway. read more

Rented 6 days and later added 7th day. After paying for the 7th day, I was reviewing the Mountain Resort Cabin Rentals web site and I noticed that the current special is pay for 6 night and receive 7th night free. I have sent 4 emails to the management company regarding the 7th day rental fee that I payed. I have not received a reply for any of the emails I sent. I feel that by not answering my email is a poor way for a reputable management company to serve their customers (renters). read more

I found this cabin rental resort as a last minute option for Valentines on Craigslist. It was kind of taking a chance but am I ever glad I did. I surprised my wife with a weekend getaway to relax and have some peace and quiet. That is exactly what we had, the cabin/house is in a remote area with beautiful veiws of the Blue Ridge Mountains. ( Our can was names - Blue Ridge Vista) The place was tough to find because it is off of the main roads and you end up taking a ride through dirt/gravel roads to get to your final destination, it reminded us of driving through the windy roads of Scotland or Ireland. (You may even run into an occasional sheep on the road!) The cabin was awesome, they are only a few years old, Granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, 60in plasma TV, wireless internet, pool table, hot tub, fire place. It was modern yet still remote, you can have a romantic weekend or have a group getaway at these places. I would definitely be interested in going back and the rates were very reasonable ($150/night - plus a cleaning fee) The cabin was just for the two of us but it had three bedrooms and could easy handle 8-10 people. The drive into town was about 10 miles and you have a Walmart and your regular chain restaurants (Longhorn, Applebees, Ihop and others.) We went to an italian place IL Forno while we were there and I would not recommend going there. All in all we had a great time and would recommend this to anyone who is looking to relax or go with a group of good friends to get away and hang out for a few days. P.S. If you do rent these cabins make sure, and I mean make sure you have them give you very specific directions on how to get there. GPS will not work trying to locate the actual cabins. read more

The cabin itself was cute, but the management team provides terrible customer service. The hot tub was scalding hot (107!!!!) and jets didn't work. They have signs all over the place saying don't touch the hot tub settings or else, and so we didn't. Instead we called them as instructed and they said they couldn't get anyone out there to fix it until after our stay. What's the point? The hot tub was the draw for us for this property. We asked for a small refund and they refused. The kitchen was roach infested!!!! Every time we turned the lights on the roaches scattered for cover. We personally killed at least 10 roaches. There was no internet service either, and the community pool was run down. "Resort" is a big stretch, but the worst was dealing with the management team at Mountain Resort Cabin Rentals. I'd give 0 stars if it was an option. Do not stay in any of their properties. You will be very disappointed. read more

We had a great time at "Red Feather" The Coosawattee Resort has great amenities. The cabin had everything you need, was clean, and kept us and our kids entertained. The directions were great..it was a little scary getting up the driveway but not THAT scary..just different for us city folks :) We saw lots of deer, turkey, etc will definitely do it again. Spent a lovely week with extended family in the Ellijay area and in the "Red Feather" cabin. The positive: This part of Georgia is lovely and perfect for an escape from the city, with lots of things to do and explore. We were there for one week, and look forward to visiting again. The cabin itself is clean, and spacious, plenty of room for our group, with a well equipped kitchen, and large game room for the kids. The twisty road to the cabin itself can be challenging in places, especially the last steep climb up the unpaved road to the driveway, but it was manageable even without AWD. We did not enjoy any of the community amenities we read about due to lack of time, as we preferred to head out to nearby towns and parks rather than staying close to the cabin. The Big Negative: Our first night in the cabin, and nearly every night of our stay, we found scorpions inside, mostly on the lowest floor where the game room is located, and also on main level in the living area. We killed 4 scorpions and one got away. After we found the first one, we immediately called the rental agent, and were told they were in her own house too, and common in this part of Georgia, and she had learned to live with them. She ignored our request for pest control, even after we reminded her that we had small children with us. Her callous and careless attitude was UNACCEPTABLE. Needless to say, the almost nightly event of finding another scorpion in the living areas was the source of much worry, and frustration. ... It almost seems trivial now, but one of the reasons we chose this cabin was the hot tub. Yet when we tried the hot tub, it was not hot, barely warm, and the big sign posted on the wall prohibited guests from using or changing temperature controls. What's the point of a hot tub if water is not hot? Finally, in the entire week we were there, there was no garbage pickup service and the 3 garbage cans were already filled when we arrived. We were forced to stuff our garbage into the filled cans, quite a chore. This is strike three. We hope to return to the Blue Ridge area of Georgia, but not to this cabin, nor cabin rental service in the future. read more

My organization was in the process of booking a retreat, planned more than a month in advance. We filed reports on who was coming, the responsible party, etc, however, the owner and her associates repeatedly caused confusion in communications. While the speedy response was appreciated, it was one of three people responding to questions and request. This created huge confusion, to the point that within two weeks of the retreat, they cancelled our reservation before getting in contact with me to discuss the problems. While filing and submitting the information, I was also informed with a less than friendly context, that my organization would be specially treated with an official Mountain Resort Cabin Rental personnel to check in each individual member of our party. Now this could be taken in many ways, but over the correspondences, our authenticity of the responsible party was questioned as well as the authenticity of our payment methods. This was most likely due to the age of all attending members being between the ages of 21 and 25 and thinking we were some partying college kids. This is a form of discrimination and is not fair at all, similar to how employers cannot refuse to hire an individual on age(too old) but must do so on skill set(cannot bend over to do necessary task for the job), I believe we gave no reason to question our character or intentions for the retreat. So, I believe they had little intention of making our stay and booking easy for us. Once again, Mountain Resort Cabin Rentals cancelled our booking for a property because they had different individuals responding to emails and questions I had about my organization staying there, and could not keep my information straight. This was after we paid, in full, and within 21 days of arrival which, by their terms and agreements that I agreed to from the beginning as a part of the paperwork, entitles me to less than a full refund. Meanwhile, they never came across as trusting myself or my organization from the beginning, and more importantly never seemed welcoming or friendly. I do not recommend staying here or renting their properties, I do recommend reading their terms and agreements and understanding the many ways they can ruin your stay or, in my organization's case, your booking altogether. I'm sure they are good people, however they do not seem to know proper etiquette in treating potential guest, or even reoccurring guest considering we have a retreat semi-annually, and ultimately ruined our fall retreat by cancelling us before proper contact and discussion to resolve an issue could be done. read more

BEWARE! Unfortunately my family did not have a great experience! Over a month in advance, I reserved a cabin (on-line), paid the deposit, and signed the agreement (for a three night stay) at the Bear Traxx Cabin at the end of October. One week before our trip I emailed the Owner/Property Manager asking for her to add another person to our cabin. Shortly afterwards, she called me on my cell (I was not at home at the time) and told me she had failed to reserve our cabin (on line) and that someone else had booked "on line" the cabin I had reserved. She apologized for her mistake and ask me to look at another cabin the (Highlands). I told her I would when I got home and I ask her why she wasn't calling the other party because I had reserved it first and she said it was because she couldn't get in contact with them. I told her to let me get home and look at the Highlands and I would call her back. After I got home first, I looked at the calendar for the "Bear Trax" and I noticed that it was reserved (for a seven night stay)! Next I looked at the Highlands cabin & wasn't interested (it looked like a house and not a cabin) Also, it did not have all of the cabin amenities that Bear Traxx had (which was a lot). I called her back on my cell phone and we talked for a few seconds (within this few seconds I told her that I wasn't interested in the Highlands) and then I said because of the bad reception on my cell phone let me call you right back on my land line and that's when she would never answer the phone or call me back! I called several times and left 2 messages but never heard back from her. I did not realize that if I didn't take the Highlands that I would be without a cabin. I thought she was giving me a choice and that she would move the other party to the Highlands if I wasn't interested in it (after all I did reserve it first)! She never offered a different cabin than the Highlands nor did she offer to lower the price of the Highlands to accommodate me for the inconvenience and the difference in the cabin amenities. Nor did she tell me if I didn't take the Highlands that I would not have a cabin. When I got to work the following morning is when I had received the big surprise! She had sent me an email stating that she was refunding my deposit and that she was sorry for her mistake. Quiet the stress, one week before our trip, family coming in from out of state and October being the Peak Season for the Mountains!! I would suggest looking somewhere else!!! read more

BEWARE!!!!! This place is horrible! I rented the DREAM CATCHER cabin for a weekend and from the time I arrived to the time I departed was one of the most horrible rental experiences that I have ever encountered. I arrived late and couldn t find my way to the cabin due to the bad directions that were provided to me....I called the after hours phone number 5 times before receiving a call back an hour later. Finally when I make it to the cabin, I discover that it has not been professionally cleaned. There was hair and dirty spots on the bathroom floors, doors and walls. To top if off there was hair all over the linens in a couple of the beds. How disgusting is that!!! They have a policy if you rent a cabin you are not allowed to sleep in the beds unless they are able to charge you for an additional person. So with that being said, there is no telling when the last time the sheets on the beds have been washed because apparently renters are not reporting their additional guest. The toilets in 2 of the bathrooms kept getting backed up, so I was plunging away guys on my vacation! Also while I washing dishing in the kitchen sink the other side of the sink starts to back up! OMG! I couldn t believe what I was seeing. A vacation is supposed to be relaxing but I felt like I was on a 9-5. smh On top of this, the number that they provide for you to call during after hours for emergency purposes, they don t respond to it! I called the number 3 times and still have yet to receive a return phone call. I forgot to mention that when I arrived it was pouring down raining and did so up until the next day. So when it was time for us to depart, my mom s car got stuck in the mud and her car was park down a hill so that made it even harder to get out of that muddy mess! So, we finally made it out of this horrendous place! So a few days later after I returned home, I get an email stating that I have been charged an additional $400 on top of the $800 that I paid to them for renting 2 cabins! I couldn t believe my eye! I was temporarily numb, I felt so helpless, I was literally sick and disgusted by what had taken place. For someone to rob me of my hard earned funds was outright dead wrong! WRONGFULLY CHARGED AS FOLLOWS: $200 FOR SLEEPING IN 2 BEDS THAT MY $570 HAS ALREADY PAID FOR, $60 FOR THE REPAIR OF THE MUDDY DIRT AREA DUE TO TIRE MARK, $ 40 FOR A HEAT MARK ON A TABLE THAT WAS ALREADY THERE BEFORE WE ARRIVED, $50 TO REPAIR A STAIN ON SINK THAT SHE CLAIMS WAS A CIGARETTE BURN WHICH NO ONE IN MY PARTY ARE SMOKERS,$ 20 FOR THE A BROKEN FIREPLACE BROOM, WHICH WAS ALREADY BROKEN BEFORE OUR ARRIVAL,$ 35 FOR THE REPAIR OF A BROKEN BLIND, WHICH WAS ALSO DAMAGED PRIOR TO ARRIVAL. Guys these people are trying to find perfect opportunities to wrongfully overcharge people for damages that have been done by prior guest. I am working with a lawyer as we speak to get every dime back that they owe me. I can say a lot more, but I think you all get the picture.:-) Please take my advice, DO NOT RENT FROM THIS COMPANY!
