The sale of her home of 60 yrs went faster than expected. Having taken care of my beautiful mommy for 14 years & losing her to the long battle with Alzheimer my only resolve was to place her entire estate in self storage. Recently my aunt in California died. With no other relatives living in the States it fell to me here in Ireland to look after her affairs. Regrettably it wasn't as straight forward as hopping on a plane to sort out her estate etc. as I was caring for another family member who was terminally ill. The funeral home, understanding of my predicament recommended I use an estate liquidator and supplied me with a list of such companies. The first person I called was Nate Morrissey and I knew instantly from our telephone conversation that he was a man of integrity and felt I could trust him. He assured me that he would treat my aunt's belongings with the utmost reverence and offered guidance through a process unfamiliar to me. I derived great comfort in my grief from knowing that he would sort everything out and he certainly did. He engaged with the landlord and public administrator to gain access to her apartment. Took photos of everything and emailed them to me to see if there was anything that I would like to keep. He then employed persons to remove all of my aunt's belongings which were either donated to charity, sold or sent back to Ireland. All the while Nate kept me informed of how things were progressing and anything that I needed to do from my side e.g. signing of documents for the sale of her car and so on. I was impressed that he had gone to the trouble of researching Irish law with regards to the import of cremains into Ireland, I was completely unaware that such laws even existed. Nate's compassion for a complete stranger and "nothing is ever to much trouble" attitude is a rare trait in today's society and I will be eternally grateful to Blue Sky Estate Services for assisting in the return of my aunt's ashes home to Ireland to be buried with her parents and peace of mind for me knowing that her memory was respected and that some of her treasured possessions were sent to those who cared for her. Due to COVID, we didn't know if estate liquidation/sales were happening in OC and let my aunt's house sit for awhile. It just so happened that Blue Sky Estates was the first call I made from the list of vendors on Yelp, and Nate was fabulous! He was generous with his time chatting with me, explaining the process (as we had never been through this before). Since we had family in the area, ultimately we did not need Nate's help with cleaning out the estate, but he provided recommendations of the estate sale vendors he works with, and left it open to call him back if we needed additional help. Nate was able to direct me to Ernie Lopez, who ultimately he and his crew were able to remove, a lifetime of my father's accumulations. He seriously never threw anything out! Spoke to Nate a few weeks ago when I needed to place my 96 yr old uncle in an Assisted Living situation. He was very helpful as our Hospice Social Worker said he would be. As a co-trustee for our parent's estate, I was tasked with the clean out of their home....a 5 bedroom, 3 bath, 3 car garage, where they had resided for over 50 years. Our experience with Nate and Blue Sky was exactly what we were looking for. We were moving out of state (from California to Idaho) and had a house + 3 storage units full of household items that needed to be sorted, organized, and sold. Nate coordinated our estate sale with a fabulous team and took care of everything. We were already in Idaho when the sale took place and within 3 days we received a check for a very reasonable amount. The house was cleared of all items and within 2 days of the sale ending we were able to send in a cleaning company to clean up the house and prepare it to be listed. I didn't know where to start when my parents decided it was time to move to a one bedroom apt in assisted living from the large house they had lived in for 43 years. The senior living director told me about Nate and his company. Nate came to the house and met with my parents and me to assess what help we needed. We decided to use an organizer, packers, movers and an estate sale company. Each company Nate sent to us was professional and did exactly what we needed. I could tell they were very experienced at working with seniors. He also explained to me that the best thing for me to do for working with my parents on what to take with them was to break it into small chunks of time- no more than about three hours in a day.
