Yikes. One of the most unprofessional estate sale companies ive ever walked into. First off, no smiles or greetings from the 5 people they had on site. Everyone working was on their phones when I walked in and cold and distant. Not a good start. The sale was in a smaller home with entry of the sale only through the garage. They had two cars parked in the driveway, which made getting into the garage very difficult as it was a very tight squeeze. You also couldn't tell there was a sale there with the cars parked there. I almost walked out because I thought it was only the items in the garage. the lady working the front didn't even mention there was more in the house! No signage even on the street before the sale. Prices were high for what they had. if you're going to price items high, your company should at least use nicer price tags to showcase the items. not painters tape that say $500. also the owners replies on here.... whoa. will not be returning. read more

It is a large single story and they did not keep track of the customers and many clothing items went missing, all the new landscape lighting was stolen and the home was trashed. UGH ! First of all extremely rude employee!! I wish I got her name but she was at the checkout and handling jewelry at the Tarzana sale today. She was literally arguing with a couple ladies about prices. Granted the ladies were trying to get everything for super cheap but the employee was arguing and throwing her hands up in their faces. In that situation she should have moved them aside and told them when they're ready to pay what she quoted she'd help them and then helped the next person. There was a line of people waiting and she was just standing there watching these ladies talk about money. When I asked if she could give prices and help the next people who were ready to pay she snapped back and yelled!! Threw her hands up again. I don't care what business you're in you do not speak to your customers that way especially when they're just asking a question and trying to pay you!! We dropped our stuff right there and left. Will never attend one of their sales again. Gold Standard my ass! And there were only people giving prices and checking people out. You need more employees when you have that big of a sale. Also the prices for clothes were ridiculous. I had a couple pairs of jeans, not designer anything just regular jeans. $10!!! Plain tshirts $10!! Especially when you have mountains of clothes. We went to an estate sale this morning that was supposed to start at 9:30 and didn't get moving until after 10 AM. They were extremely unorganized and it felt a bit shady. The cashier lady upstairs was very misinformed on pricing and was picking and choosing on a whim what she felt like to charging. A lot of people were complaining about how overpriced it was . One of the worst estate sale companies around. Don't be fooled by their fancy website; they have no clue what they are doing. Company uses eBay as a price guide and the client's home is still full on the third day of the sale; not only is this a disservice to the client, but also for the customers looking to buy at their sales. Are they pricing items too high, so when they clear the home, they can sell the inventory somewhere else? Used items are not valued at full retail and above folks...!!! Customers coming to the sale should not be leaving empty handed; this is a terrible business practice and Gold Standard should have recognized this problem years ago. This company has the arrogance to promote themselves as a premier estate sales service, but they are amateurs and cheats at best, who use Google lens and eBay to price items ridiculously high. The reviews here on Yelp and Google don't lie, as well as their horrible and nasty replies to people. This company has a terrible reputation, extremly poor customer service and is clearly unethical; they need to go away... For families looking for a good, fair and honest estate sale company, that want fair prices for their loved one's items, as well as want the house cleared and items sold after 3 or 4 days, look somewhere else, there are way better estate sale services than this one... Please, Please avoid Hire this estate sale company at all. They handled a three-day estate sale for my client in Woodland Hills for an almost 4000sqft 2 stories house full of valuable items and Antiques . The owners Jimmy & Anne and their team are not knowledgeable about items they sell. They were short-staffed, frequently late, and priced many valuable and antique items incorrectly and low. On the first day of estate sale they brought so many of their own items like women hand bags and jewelry, which they focused to selling them in our Estate sale. After the sale, they failed to provide any proof or receipts of money they collected from the sale. My elderly clients, a couple, have suffered a lot emotionally for a long time trying to get their money from him, as Jimmy mostly ignored our calls and text massage after selling the items and always broken his promises to pay my clients' money back. We ultimately had to hire AN ATTORNEY to recover the money from them after almost 6 weeks, which was much more less than the value of the items the sold. I'm very disappointed and unhappy with their service and strongly recommend that anyone considering hiring this company not do so. They are unprofessional, unreliable, and untrustworthy. We went to an estate sale they held this weekend in Murrieta. The crew was a bit disorganized, which was no concern as was a big sale. However, they seem dishonest. First, the listing on Estate Sale .NET showed 30% discounts on Friday, but they only gave 15%. Even today was supposed to be 50% and they only gave 30%. Not sure what gives there. The biggest concern though was them retagging items to raise prices! The same items we looked at yesterday and went back today for, were re-priced higher by anywhere from $10 to $50 more depending on initial price! Never seen that before at ANY of the estate sales we have gone to which are many. We confronted them and said it was dishonest for them to do that, and they said, "oh just many different people pricing things". Well if they already had a sticker on it with a price from the previous day, why did you replace it with a high price sticker? Seemed underhanded and greedy to us. Saw response from "Jimmy". First, I am not his Bruh, and find it insulting for him to talk to me that way. 2nd, there were FOUR of us that were all looking at different things and everyone of us noticed the prices were increased. I Believe all Estate Sales companies are required to price everything accurately ahead of time before the sale. Today I attended 4/28/24 I attended their sale last day with 50% off and looking around a silver metal shell tray called my attention so price on it so I asked a tall girl with glasses how much the tray was and she said while banging the dish $2 so I said ok. I knew that tray was Sterling silver. Since this is why most of us go to Estate Sales to find Valuables at the lowest price possible. Any way when I approached the cashier another girl took the tray and realized it was Sterling silver and said that would be more like $30 so I said ok I'll give you the $30. but the girl had given me the price of $2 dollars then said she actually had to weight the tray so she can give the correct price. The rest of the stuff I was going to purchase would of easily totaled $500 so I feel sorry for the owner read more

I received an email announcement regarding a sale hosted by Gold Standard Estate Sales and went online to sign up. Both the email from them and confirmation said 8:00 start time. I showed up at the sale 10 minutes before the 8:00 advertised start time. There were two of us waiting and we were told by one of the employees that there was a mistake in the email and they were not opening until 9:30. Evidently the public ad on estate sales net said 9:30. That same employee asked us to put our name on a paper list which we did. Several others arrived and all placed their names on the paper list as instructed. It wasn't until after 9:45 that a man who claimed to be the owner of the company pulled up in the driveway. By this time there were approximately 20-30 people waiting and on the paper list. He never apologized or explained their mistake in advertised opening time, just said it's his company and he would run out the way he wanted to. He went on to tell the group to sign up online and proceeded to read names from the online list. A lady asked if he was going to use the paper signup list and he ignored her. When she asked again, he told the group to "stop wining". He actually acted like it was the customers fault for his company's mistake. I can understand and accept the mistake in opening time, but not the rudeness of the self proclaimed owner of the company (I never confirmed who this guy was). After reading the reviews on this company, I can see Jimmy or Jimi does not take to kindly to criticism which is just how the guy acted in person. Plenty of other options in the estate sale business. Here is an update as of 9/11/24. Gold Standard Estate Sales continued to be in default on paying the full amount of the judgement and continues to deny any culpability or wrong doing. Because of the threat of another court date they dribbles out partial court ordered payments but never paid the full amount of judgement plus costs. The judge authorized the post judgement costs for fees and expenses of collection, but the remain outstanding 14 mos. after the court award. IF YOU SEE THIS COMPANY, RUN THE OTHER WAY!! read more

This estate sale company is an absolute joke. They are a bunch of crooks. They sold us furniture, were supposed to mark it - SOLD. We came back to pick it up they had already sold it AGAIN to someone else and barely refunded us our COST. They basically sold something that belongs us to someone else, without our consent!! We had already brought a rental truck to pick up the item and we paid money for people to pick up the furniture and all they said was sorry the owners change their mind. They were bold face lying because the item was not in the house it was completely gone.
