The worst nail job I've ever had! From technique, to filing, To doing what I asked. When I ask them (ocean) to fix something, it's done with an attitude. I'm posing for wtf I WANT, not what YOU feel like doing. My nails were so thin, 2 broke within a week from doing NOTHING. I was literally peeling a grapefruit at work and the nail just popped clean off. So when I came to get it fixed, I said just give me a refill because I'm not trying to fix a broken nail every days. I asked to simply make them A LITTLE BUT thicker. It's like he was being funny and petty by making them EXTRA BULKY. He had to file them and shape them 3-4 times, STILL UGLY. At that point I was over it. An attitude with everything, except he just keeps saying "sorry." That's the only positive thing about both experiences. I will NEVER EVER AGAIN get service here, or even recommend them. The pedicure was TERRIBLE as well. The technician didn't understand anything I was telling her, and I'm not talking about language. She seemed clueless like she'd just begun doing nails. A different person had to do my toes. My toe nail had broken, so ANOTHER guy glue a fake nail on and filed it CROOKED and unever, so yet ANOTHER lady had to fix it to the best she good, after I complained. Still a mess. Ok, so just to preface, I don't get my nails done a lot but when I do, I usually don't go back to the same place twice just because of pricing or not liking the nails. That being said, the past 3 times I've gone, I've gone to Blue Sky, even though they're not that close to my house. They're always super up front and honest about their prices (I hate thinking that I'm getting a $50 service and then paying $75 and not knowing why) and I love love love how the nails turn out. I just went yesterday, which is why I'm writing this review, and I couldn't love my nails more. I just walked in with my friend and they immediately took us (we've walked in the past 2 times as well and never had to wait). I went in just asking for a nude nail with a white swirly/squiggly design and I ended up getting an even cuter modification of it. I totally forgot to ask for the nail tech's name, I'm so sorry, but she put up with all my dumb questions (they're my graduation nails so I was really nervous about not loving them). I'll attach the reference picture and what I actually got, but she did the swirls and then without even asking added some little accent dots on one nail and asked if I liked it. I thought it was the cutest stinking thing I've ever seen so she did them on the rest and I love them more than any nails I've ever gotten I think. She told me they'd be $65 and they were in fact only $65, which I so so appreciate. Anyway, I'll definitely continue to come back and support this business, they totally deserve it!! read more

I was at blue sky this afternoon and call to set a appointment and she said that they would be ready for me so when I got there. There wasn't that many people there so I thought I would get in right away but I didn't I was waiting there for 10 minutes then the lady came up to me and said pick a color which I had already did then she told me to sit at number 1 so I didn't and waited there for about 15 more minutes and then finally got a man had came out and said sit where he was so I did what he said and right as I sat down he had grabbed my hand in a harsh way and I suddenly got uncomfortable but then when he was done with my nails I looked at them and I noticed that my right thumb in my left thumb we're completely different my right thumb was longer than the left thumb and my ring fingers are different as well so I won't be going there again. read more

I went in with a vision of what I wanted to get done, but found out it would've cost me 50 dollars. I didn't want to pay that much, but I also found out that the shape of the acrylics costs 5-10 dollars more. I decided to do square acrylics because I had a 35 dollar gift card. She did really great with the shape and application, but I felt that she was rushing me through as more people came in. Her paint job was so crappy, and you can see imprints under my nail. When I finished drying my nails I realized that she didn't paint the top of the nails and that you could see the plastic. She assured me that they don't paint that part of the nail and that she was already working on someone else. She said that she would paint the top if I stood there. It was still so crappy and fast but I decided to leave without giving her a tip.. if she took her time I think it would've been worth my while.. read more

Mixed results (mostly sub par) after dozens of visits. They are close to my home. They rarely do as neat of a job as I hope for, and were not welcoming to my son when he came in with me for a pedicure (well behaved 4 year old). But they are close. I visited this salon outside of my usual salon, clean and very nice nail techs. Came in for a full-set of shellac acrylics and left with cut up cuticles and extremely thick nails. I asked my tech several times to make them thinner and it seemed what I was asking went right over her head so I gave up, paid and left. Will sadly not be returning. read more

Friendly staff. I only get spa pedis... which are lovely. Nice seats with massagers. I also like how the staff speaks English so I am able to communicate with them... they small talk with you so it makes it more pleasurable. The reason I gave them only 2 stars are because their designs are horrible and the paint chips off easily. I posted a pic of my toe nails with Ava written on it... and it looks like I had these painted for several weeks. When in fact it, has only been 2 full days... and half of today. And I haven't done anything but stay at home with my feet kicked up as I am nearing my due date. I asked for my soon to be born daughter's name to be written on my big toe. It looks like my six yr old daughter did this at home... I am SO disappointed. I didn't even mention it to the staff because if they don't have the ability to make a good design then there was really no point in conveying this to the staff... plus they were all very nice. Extremely disappointing esp because my mom, daughter and I both got the same design by three diff nail techs and they all look the same (amateur). However, I probably won't be back to this salon unless I just want a plain color or they do great French tip with cute colors and rhinestones and such... maybe I should stick to something like that. But I hate to go somewhere and be limited to what I can get. They gave me a pedicure without asking me what I wanted so I got a $35 pedicure and I wanted a basic $25. It was a nice pedicure, but they set a timer... And then rushed when the timer went off. There was a very weird type of smell in the shop as well. The could not understand me, and they spoke to themselves in their own language the entire time, not engaging me or asking The decor was so plain and the nail stations did not match and the flooring did not match. Came here to get my eyebrows waxed when I was visiting my sister. They did a fantastic job! It's the best "eyebrow experience" I've ever had. Sadly I don't live in Nebraska, and probably won't get another chance to visit this salon...but my sister goes now! This place has gone downhill in the last few months. You'd think that since they are in a new building with a bigger floor space that they would hire more people...instead they tell you that the wait will be ten minutes and next thing you know it's been over 30 minutes. Even when you have an appointment, they don't get you started for another 10-15 minutes. What was the point of making an appointment? The quality of work has also gone down. A shellac which should last at least two weeks start peeling within a few days of getting your nails done. Definitely don't recommend this place anymore. read more

I'd been to Blue Sky several times and initially, it was great. The last 2 times I went, I was not happy with the shellac manicures I received. The second to last time I went, I chose a color that I'd had previously, and had loved. However, the color the second time was thinned out and I could still see my natural nail under 4 coats. I sent an email to the manager about it, and never received a response. I last visited 9 days ago and within 7 days of going, my shellac manicure started to chip and peel. I've never had this happen in such a short time after getting a shellac manicure. When I called about it today, I was told there is nothing they can do because it had been over a week since I got the manicure. I explained that I'd never had a shellac manicure chip and peel so quickly before, but was again told there was nothing they can do. I do not recommend this place and will no longer be giving them my business. I expect shellac manicures to last at least 2 weeks, and I expect salons to use products that have not had thinner added. read more

I've gone there for a while now but, with the exception of my first visit, the results have been unsatisfactory. I get a dip manicure and each time my nails are uneven and need to be filed to look halfway decent because they're so ragged on the ends. There are also lumps in the surface which make it look cheap. I gave in this last time and let them do a manicure as well (extra $5) and the tech was so rough (going way too fast) that my cuticles were cut and bleeding when he was done. It's been two days and my thumb is still sore. I'm starting to think it's infected. Bottom line - I will be finding a new place to get my nails done. read more

We went to this place for a bridal shower & the plus side is that they give a 10% discount to bridal parties 5 or more, but you get what you pay for. I got a regular mani pedi which they were upset about because I didn't get 'shellac' one of the girls accidentally messed up the polish on her toe and it was the biggest problem to get it fixed. My nails were done yesterday and a few of them are already chipping. Overall not good quality and they did not make us feel comfortable. Would not recommend. read more

I'm extremely dissatisfied with my nail appointment today. Not only did I have to tell the tech several times to NOT drill on my cuticles, every nail is uneven and crooked. I asked the tech to fix the crooked nails and he attempted to but they still look uneven and horrible. There is excess acrylic under my artificial nails and the corners are sharp. Now I have to go home and FIX what I PAID for. This is the 3rd time this has happened and I'm EXTREMELY disappointed. The only pleasant thing about my trip today was my pedicure. read more

Usually I drive into Omaha to get my nails done but I was thinking about trying this place because I'd had rather good things about it. Going in, everyone was nice and they started my pedicure right away and seemed to spend more time on my legs than my actual feet...I then got acrylic nails and the guy did them as if it were a race. He didn't take time file and shape them so they are uneven and the he missed spots while painting and didn't coat them well enough. I have been going to blue sky for almost a year & i have always been very particular on who does my nails. I usually ask for Tyler & today I went to Halle & she was amazing! She made conversation, didn't make me bleed at all (i never have had a bad experience here but at other nail places). It was another awesome experience. Thought I finally found a nice place but was wrong! Had appointment for a full set as had three broken nails, walked in as did several others but without appointments requesting pedis"s. Sat at nail station about 10 min then he got started , after the other worker yelled something to him he stopped and stood up and said " I don't have time for you" , I said " I have a appointment and have had this since Friday , as it was a Sunday " he then screamed back to the lady then sat back down . He did not soak off my remaining nails yet proceeded to try to pull them off which was the worst pain ever and getting your nails done is not suppose to be a surgical procedure!!! Then I had one bleeding as he pulled it off so hard. then he cut the hanging part and put his tool with the blood on it right back in his holder. Then he caused another finger to bleed and continued to used his tools while I bled without cleaning just putting them back as normal . i wanted him to Finish so I could get out and get my nails somewhat presentable. I was offered no apology no discount or anything, it was the most painful hurried awful service ever . They were getting pedis in and out of there within 20 min like cattle and all stressed out as people kept walking in . I will never go back there again . Who tells a customer " I don't have time for you " I don't care if I had a appointment or not . The blood thing is a whole different issue . Poor service !!! read more

Horrible! The first time I went I figured that I just got a bad tech. I gave them a second chance today & fully regret it. My nails look awful, she completely ignored what I requested because her way looks 'more natural'. Wrong. It looks awful & is not at all what I requested. I went here to get a shellac pedicure. At most places I go, they soak off the shellac, but at Blue Sky they used toe nail nippers to peel it off. Not only did it make my toe nails weak, the nail tech ripped off half of my pinky toenail. At first I thought it was just a cut. When she left I looked and realized half of my toenail was ripped off. I told her I didn't want to finish the pedicure and that I'd go somewhere else. The manager came over and told me I still had to pay $25 for the pedicure but she would give me a 15% discount. I told her that is absolutely ridiculous considering my nails were fine when I came in. I left after that and I have no pinky toenail now. read more

All the tech cared about was the soccer game on the TVs and his phone. He couldn't have made it more clear that my presence was a burden on his time. I got shellac and it's already peeling off after just over a week. I wanted black nails, 1 orange accent nail per hand with glitter on the orange nail. The orange nail polish brush was broken so instead of asking what other color I'd like he just put glitter on my bare nail. The friend I brought had an OK experience but the tech didn't polish all the way to the cuticle so it looked like her nails were grown out leaving the salon. Absolutely not worth $25 a manicure!!
