This is still my favorite place for good old fashioned food. It's a diner & not fancy so if you need atmosphere maybe this isn't your place. But it's clean and the service is fast. The entrees/dinners come with soup, salad, a hot side & cold side. Sandwiches come with soup and fries. We both had the perch which was very good. My husband questioned if it was really from Lake Erie but I didn't care because it was delicious. The only beef I have is the extra $1 to pay with credit card and the "Checkout Adjustment " 94 cents on a $25 tab. We usually enjoy breakfast at Blue Sky in Amherst. Today, we enjoyed dinner, it started with Chicken Dumpling soup which could have been a meal in itself. Next was a great salad. My wife loved the seafood platter, I enjoyed Italian Meatloaf. Both meals were fantastic to say the least. We were able to even take some home. Atmosphere - Just OK. Your typical diner setting. There are a combination of booths and 4 tops. The restaurant is bright and feels clean. Service - Very Good. Our server was pleasant and attentive. Food - Very Good. The menu is huge and there is a breakfast and lunch/dinner menu. Both are available throughout the day. We were there solely for a light lunch. I ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup. It tasted pretty good, but the size was a little disappointing. It was closer to being a large cup than a bowl of soup. Overall Value - Very Good. We are sitting in the Blue Sky parking lot eating breakfast take-out on this lovely Monday morning in Amherst, Ohio, on our way to Oberlin College. We called in our order and it was ready exactly on time, just 15 minutes later. We both ordered breakfast skillets. Mine was vegetarian and my son got "the Ultimate", including eggs, sausage, loads of vegetables, and a side of toast. The servings were absolutely massive! Very good price. They have great food every time! I've been getting takeout, but when you dine in the service is fast! Never disappointed!

My spinach and feta omelet w cottage cheese was only $7.59 so with that in mind this isn't a bad deal at all! White toast was buttered but tough and chewy and overall not worth the carbs. Omelet was average portion size and flavorful with plenty of feta. Overall good deal and only took ten minutes from order to pickup. read more

A total surprise and a good find. Stumbled upon this place while visiting the area and in need of lunch. I had the veal parm special - the husband had the pork and kraut special and my mom had the open faced turkey sandwich. Everything was delicious - both my mom and I had their French Onion Soup and I used to think there was no such thing as too much cheese but this soup may cross that line. There was so much melted delicious cheese on this soup - more than I have ever seen before. But it tasted great and served nice and hot. My husband had the chicken noodle and enjoyed his soup as well. We all took home nearly half of our meals since the portions are large. We plan to return next time we are in the area to try some other things on their huge menu. read more

I was amazed by the huge menu so I was expecting great things. I got the roasted Turkey dinner. It was so dried out a d covered in a neon yellow gravy On menu as slow roasted so why the fake stuff? It tasted as bad as it looked. Also there was a hair I'm my mashed potatoes. My salad was dried up with spoiled black pieces of lettuce. My husband got the fried perch. It was so overcooked and had such breading on it he couldn't eat. Left there and went to find another restaurant even tho we had to pay for 2 meals we couldn't eat. read more

Decor is very dated and this place needs a facelift badly. Ceiling tiles are very old and dusty looking like they are ready to fall. The booth we sat in had broken sunk in benches that are not comfortable what's so ever and very filthy. Walking in stood at door for a few minutes before we were even acknowledge. Our waitress did a good job. There are plenty of customers so I'm hoping when food gets here it is good because so far not impressed. Ok so liver and onions is not the best I've ever had but it was ok. The veggies were soggy like they sit in a warming pan in fluid and just don't taste very good fried mashed potatoes are ok but not something I would order again. Perch dinner does not taste like perch and seems like a lot of breading wife said it's worse fish she has ever had it was very dry and sent back to kitchen and taken off our bill. Her salad had brown lettuce inside. We definitely were not impressed and probable will not return. The menu doesn't disappoint and is full of options to appeal to any foodie in your party. Some of my personal favorites include the Gyro, the Mile High Burger, the cheesecakes, and the patty melt. And you honestly can't go wrong with their French fries, seriously, order extra! Today I had the french onion soup and my husband had the mile high burger, our server Alexa was absolutely amazing, greeted us with a smile and kept our drinks full. This is a lovely little gem not for from my house. We order breakfast from there often. We ordered out this past weekend. I ordered the Ultimate Skillet, the hubs got the Cornbeef Hash omelet, the teenager had the Country Skillet and the youngest had the Blue Sky Combo. My husband also had a waffle and we ordered 2 sides of crispy bacon. Their food is good for a really good price. Super silly and small but I like the various jellies that are in the bag when hour order out. I like that when I say crispy, they get it just right everytime. We have never dined in but it's usually pretty crowded on the weekends. There are few locations (Amherst and Elyria). If you're ever far west of Cleveland and want some really good breakfast food, check them out. You'll be glad you did. read more
