I was going to give them a high rating due to the fact that when I picked up my car after having it detailed, it was flawless. I drove it home that day, it was a dry sunny day, didn't ran into any puddles or anything and got home with a very nice clean car. The issue I had happened two days after. Never used the car after having it detailed, however, it did rain. The day after it rained, I saw my tires all muddy and dirty. Mind you I never used the car after getting it detailed. I don't know what they used to clean my tires...but I'll let the pictures tell the story. read more

When I first bought my car, I took it to Blue Star Car Care to look it over and do any initial servicing that had to be done. Turned out that the seller sold it to me with a failing transmission. Ahmet, the owner, had great instincts and recommended that I take it to Nissan before the car hit 120,000 miles, which allowed me to get a new transmission for free. I respected his honesty so much that I only take my car to him and recommended him to my mother for her own Nissan. Fast forward three years later, and he stole my mother's car engine. She had been going to another mechanic for several years, and after he retired, she went to Blue Star per my recommendation. After noticing that the balance of her car was off, she took it to Ahmet to change the shock absorbers. He reached back out within 24 hours and told her that he'd fixed the shock absorbers, which was surprising to her because it usually takes more time. Two days later, my mom's car wouldn't start. She popped open the hood and realized that the engine in her car was completely different. He didn't even screw the engine cover back on...just left it and the screws sitting there. She went back to Ahmet and asked him why he stole her engine. He didn't deny it. Rather, he asked her to sell her car to him because it's "old." So yeah, we're currently recovering evidence to pursue legal action. Highly would NOT recommend. read more

Very good service. I came here for car detailing and Ahmed suggested a couple fixes for the body of my Mazda at a really good price. Everything was completed well. Went to have car detail previous owner had dogs and cats in car and there was pet odors and stains on the seat. Got the odor, hair, and decals off leaving the car looking new for the two new drivers in my home to use. I opted to have the seats removed for cleaning well worth the money. I came to Blue Star Car Care for an oil change a few days back. The entire process did not take longer than 30 minutes, and I had a Groupon for it too. I might as well not have bought the Groupon because the oil change would have cost less than $20 anyway. From the outside and inside, Blue Star Car Care might not look like much, but this place is cooler than your usual car repair chain. They don't bother you with a list of unnecessary things your car does not need. They do what is asked and let you be on your way. I also asked them to replace a bulb in my tail light and they only charged me for the price of the bulb. If you care about sitting in a nice waiting room while waiting for your car to be ready, then don't come here, but if you are looking for a no frillls, good value car repair service in central jersey, Blue Star Car Care is THE place. I bring my Toyota Corolla here. I found this place 1 year ago and I never had a problem. I still bring it back here to get the oil changed have the maintenance done and get it washed. I'm guessing it's a family run business, the owners are very friendly and they show appreciation to their customers. If I could give zero stars I would. I am skeptical that the other "good" reviews are even legitimate. They sound way too peppy and complimentary. Anyway, I bought a Groupon for $149 for a full interior/exterior car detailing, made an appointment a week in advance, showed up on time to drop my car off this morning (after taking a day off work to get this done), only to find out that they can't perform the service today. This wouldn't have been so frustrating except for everything about this place and how the manager was so disrespectful. First of all, the place is a disaster. Such a tiny piece of land filled with tons of other cars that there is no where to even pull in to. I parked my car on the adjacent residential street and go to the tiny office to drop off the keys. There is no one in the office (9 AM) and it is disgustingly dirty and filled with car parts, tires, and junk. There is no where to sit even if I wanted to. I wait and wait, yelling "helllooooo??". I see a guy sweeping that says "one minute" and I continue to wait and wait for 10 minutes. At this point, my Uber driver has arrived and is waiting. Finally, Ahmed comes to the office and acts surprised that I'm there. I remind him that I have an appointment and even point to it on his paper calendar laying on the counter. He then tells me his "detail guy" has called out sick and I can either bring the car back on Saturday (I'm not available on Saturdays) or leave it overnight and pick it up at 9 AM tomorrow morning. Neither of these options work for me. I specifically made the appointment and took a day off of work to make this happen. I have to be at work at 7 AM and can't risk picking it up tomorrow to find out another surprise delay (plus, is the apparently sick detail guy going to come in and do it overnight??). The manager was extremely inconsiderate and didn't seem to understand how this was a huge inconvenience. No apology, no call ahead to let me know before I came all the way out here. Just bad business. On top of this, the Uber ended up charging me to cancel the trip when I couldn't leave my car today! I understand things happen, but the lack of customer service is very frustrating. Buyer beware of this sketchy "business". I have contacted Groupon for a refund. I don't even know how much this place normally charges for a full detail because is no information on their website or in the tiny office. They are sure to remind you to "tip generously" on the full amount, however! I'd rather spend the extra money on a legitimate quality business. read more

I am from out of town and had a slight accident on the Jersey turnpike. Went to Midas down the street for a twisted tailpipe that was falling off my van at 4pm and they wanted over $550 to repair and replace and no guarantee that it would be done before closing at 6 pm. Found Blue Star Car Care on Yelp and took a chance. The entire experience was GREAT!! These guys immediately looked at the car and once it was raised up in the air, showed me exactly what they were going to do next and said it would cost $150. The process included fabricating parts and welding. I watched them do the work like a hawk, and they were very friendly, honest and quick. I was back on the road in 1 1/2 hrs. My only regret is that I don't live closer to this auto shop. They are truly GOOD AND VERY HONEST!! Highly recommended. read more

I had an accident with my 2005 hyundai sante fe and looked all around to get the rear bumper pulled out so i could fix the rear light. Since the car is 12 years old I was not looking to have it look like new. I just didn't want to get ticketed while driving with a broken blinker. I did look around for someone to do the work and found the cost to be $1500, not too bad and from a friend of Ahmets, to $4500, way too much for me to afford. But, since i am planning my wedding even 1500 was more than i could do. Ahmet gave me a WEDDING present by fixing my car at cost of labor OH MY GOD I cried when i saw it. I cant understand how this company has such decent reviews- leads me to believe they are completely fake. I purchased a Groupon in March for $149.99 for detailing. I called to make my appointment two weeks ago for a Friday. As soon as I attempted to make the appointment, the owner, Ahmed, started accusing me of having made appointments in the past and not shown up. I explained this was my first time calling ever in my life and he KEPT accusing me. It was crazy! After 5 mins of me trying to convince him that it wasn't me, he finally let it go and I made my appointment for this coming Friday. Today is Wednesday and my husband just learned he needs to travel for work and I will no longer have a ride to the shop on Friday. I just called Ahmed to reschedule (mind you this is 48 hours in advance of my appointment). He FREAKS out and starts accusing me of having made appointments in the past for Audi A4's and Mercedes C300's. He was yelling and demanding I put down a deposit. Screaming at me that I have done this many, many times. Meanwhile, I have only made my one appointment and never, ever cancelled and was trying to do the right thing giving notice as soon as I learned I couldn't make it work! I actually felt like I was being punked!!!! My co-workers could not believe what they were hearing as they listened to him scream and yell at me and accuse me of things I did not do. Needless to say, I have filed a claim to get my money back through Amex and I will never ever give this person my business and I will tell everyone I know not to go there. Meanwhile, I really wanted the service done and would have returned to have my car detailed in the future had he not been so psychotic!!!! read more

I purchased the groupon for the interior and exterior detailing on my car and it was absolutely worth it. My car looks spotless inside and smelled great. My car looked like it did when I first bought it. I was so surprised with how amazingly clean they were able to make my car look. Along with the interior, they waxed my entire car and got rid of most of the exterior small scratches. The people who work there are very nice and it was a pleasure working with them. read more

I should preface with the fact that I'm really the complete polar opposite about anyone who cares about their car. My 2005 Malibu is a piece of work. I've stored winter clothes in it when I lived in the city, have had messy food and spilled coffee in it often, let other people drive it and beat it up, left the windows down in a rainstorm and the last time a lady hit me in the parking lot I said, "well I really don't care your car is in way worse shape". It is however, like my old trusty steed. It has kept me safe, cost me a lot of time and money but gets me from here to there and back again. Needless to say- I have never cleaned the inside of it except a vaccum here and there. So when I brought it to Blue Star I thought there was no way they'd get it clean. Even Ahmet doubted he could get the seats clean because of the extremely absorbable material Chevy uses. I would up leaving my car there for the weekend and when I went back to get it, I was impressed. It's actually clean. All the salt from Wawa pretzels has been removed from every crevice and the seats don't look like a brand new color I didn't know they were! The only tiny problem I have is I had to go home and clean the inside windows and review mirror and they missed my visor- which looks surprisingly dirty now compared to the rest of the car.
