The manager got back to me to let me know my repair (a new engine on a two month brand new 2026 equinox) was done. I got no information on the reports I requested which I describe below. My car has been with them since 1/9/ and it is ready to be picked up tomorrow. For this inconvenience, they said that they would comp my January payment. That is it! Totally unacceptable and I deeply regret leasing 4 vehicles from this dealership. Stay away. As soon as you sign, they will abandon you and defer all the issues elsewhere. I reached out to the manager of Chevrolet on 1/17 and, as of this posting on 1/22, have not received a response. I am requesting the initial report explaining why Chevy Malouf deemed my 2026 Equinox sellable when it now requires a full engine replacement after only a month and a half. The vehicle was also brought in for service less than a week after I received it, and I am requesting the invoice/report detailing what was diagnosed and what repairs were made at that time. After that visit, the check engine light was turned off but came back on two days later. This raises concerns about whether proper testing was conducted or if the light was simply reset without addressing the underlying issue. I plan to add all related documentation to my pending case with General Motors (GM) as well as with Consumer Affairs. I still have several unanswered questions: Am I responsible for my monthly payment if I did not have possession of the vehicle for much of January? Wasn't my lease calculated based on a brand-new vehicle with its original engine? Now that the vehicle requires a major repair, shouldn't the lease be reassessed, as the value is no longer the same? Why was I never offered the option to exit this lease and start a new one with a different new vehicle? I initially asked about this when the check engine light first came on and was told, "I don't know how you're going to do that." Today, Chris, the service manager, contacted me to let me know the new engine has arrived and repairs will begin. He has always been great to deal with. I am simply frustrated that I am having to deal with major service issues so early in my lease. There are still ongoing issues with this vehicle. I have had it for only two months, and this brand-new 2026 vehicle now requires a complete engine replacement. It is unbelievable that General Motors is choosing to replace the engine in a two-month-old car rather than doing the right thing and providing me with a completely new vehicle. I have completely lost trust in this vehicle. This has been, without question, the worst experience I have ever had purchasing anything--let alone something as significant and expensive as a vehicle. Due to the severity of this situation, I have opened a formal case with General Motors and filed a report with Consumer Affairs. It appears that the dealership is simply following General Motors' direction rather than taking ownership of the situation and advocating for the customer, despite being the entity that sold me the vehicle. This lack of accountability and customer support has only added to my frustration. I'm following up regarding ongoing issues with my leased vehicle, which I received on October 25. Since then, the check engine light has come on three separate times. While I appreciate that your team agreed to meet me at my home to swap out the current vehicle, I was later informed that there is no way for me to receive a different vehicle. This has left me feeling stuck with a car I no longer trust. I believe the right and fair resolution would be to replace this vehicle entirely or offer a comparable alternative to make up for the inconvenience and repeated issues I've experienced. Again, this is my 4th vehicle with them, so I have been loyal. Additionally, I have concerns about how the initial service visit was handled. When the check engine light first came on and I brought the vehicle in, I was told, "It was close to closing time when you brought it in, so they just checked it quickly." I find this response unacceptable and negligent, considering the seriousness of a check engine warning. I was also asked to provide proof of where I was told I could get my new car at the same payment rate as before, which I have done -- I can provide the screenshot again if needed. At this point, my confidence in both this vehicle and the service I've received is gone. The absolute worst service experience ever. We bought 5 cars from them over the last 4 years and we will never go back. It's a shame because our salesperson Rich was awesome. But their service department was just awful. After putting only 9,500 miles on our new car, the front two tires went bald- down to the threads. It was clear that the car left their lot with a bad alignment. Their service manager couldn't give a crap-- he tried to blame us. Maybe our kids were driving it? Maybe we drove the car hard? They had the most ridiculous excuses to try to explain what happened. But the only rational explanation is that we drove the car off the lot with a bad alignment. Rather than replacing the tires to keep a loyal client happy, they said they'd give us two new tires if we paid for installation. Even the manager of the dealership refused to budge. I leased or purchased my last 7 cars through Malouf. Yes, you need to haggle a bit. But, you will always get the lowest price for you car. I shop around before purchasing or leasing (typically online). Last week, my wife and I leased a car from Malouf at about $30 less per month than the closest competitor. I purchased a car today (my lease just expired) and when shopping around it was clear that Malouf had the lowest price. For the same make/modal/features, Malouf was over $1,100 less than the nearest competitor (Lester Glen). This takes into account markup over MSRP and dealer rebates. The Trailblazer I purchased was being sold by Malouf at $1600 over MSRP. BUT, they offered me a dealer rebate of $1,000, so the net addition was $600. Lester Glen (identical specs) was $1800 over MSRP. All American & Quality Chevrolet (Old Bridge) were $5,000 and $3,500 over MSRP!!!! Do your research then head to Malouf. read more

So I purchased my car on rt22. Dealership will remain nameless. I had a few issues with the service department. So I had a new issue with my vehicle. I decided to come here and from the door they were amazing. Randy was amazing with my first visit to diagnose the issue with my car and finding out if I was still covered under warranty which I was thank god. I was unable to leave my car that day to get the issue fixed but brought it back today. He got me in and out very quickly. Its is going to be a pretty big job. Pretty much all day. But the best part is, is that they were able to get me into a rental. Unlike the other dealership which never had a rental avaliable and always asked me to call and keep calling. I thank randy for his professionalism and help resolving the issue with my vehicle. I definitely will end up going there for service in the future after the 2 positive experiences I have had with them. I made an appointment for a Tech service bulletin online and the lady that called thought it was a recall. I kept explaining to them that it was an known issue with the tailgate that I wanted to get fixed but the lady wouldn't book my appointment with out a recall number? I put the TSB in the comments along with the part I needed. I thought maybe they didn't train their service advisors well so I'll go to the dealership to make the appointment. My vehicle is under Chevys bumper to bumper warranty as it is a 2023 that I brought new last year. I went in person to schedule my service and they declined to do any service. I guess warranty means shit if the dealer won't service it or can just decline. I will be going to the dealer that I brought my car from even though it is an hour away. I thought I would support my local dealer by giving them service work but I have learned the hard way. My car broke down 200 miles from home and I was a sitting duck for them to take advantage of me but instead said they would fix my head gasket for free bc it was still covered under the warranty which was expiring in a month. Big deal, it's what they're supposed to do, right?. Ordering parts & labor would take a wk & I needed to get home so I had them charge the electric half of my Chevy Volt & I would have my dealer fix it when I got back instead. My dealer, though, says it's not the gasket but a $900 hose as they try to put a band-aid on the problem so my warranty could expire. I battled w/ 4 other dealers to honor my warranty and it was finally fixed 6 mos later. While at Malouf, I witnessed their Service Dept turn an elderly woman away bc she wasn't due for an oil change for "a while", and they fixed a guy who's car was "running rough" for free bc they said a spider had taken up residency in the air filter hose. Took my car in to get it diagnosed, it took a week to find out what was wrong with it. Then...$2100.00 to install a fuel pump. The car is not worth that much. Declined the repair and on the day I went to get it I discovered the wire from the alarm system was hanging down from under the dash. They said that they were going to check to see if the alarm was causing the problem?? They just left the wire disconnected, but told me everything was put back together. I came across a vehicle this dealership had in inventory that my wife and I were interested in. I set an appointment to test drive and visited on 6/24. On arrival at the dealership I notified a salesperson (Mike Litinsky) that I was there for an appointment. Mike did not greet me, did not say hello, and instead responded to me asking "Is this vehicle for you?". His tone and demeanor were not welcoming, and he seemed skeptical. Nonetheless, I tried not to pay too much attention and proceeded to answer his questions. He retrieved the keys and pulled the car to the front of the dealership. I proceeded to look around the car and inquired whether I can test drive it. Mike responded "Hold on a minute" and went inside, came back out and asked for my drivers license. He looked at the driver's license and asked "You're licensed in Michigan, but you said you live in New York? And your car's license plate is from Massachusetts? Why?". I was a bit shocked about his inquiries, but explained that I was licensed in Michigan because I lived there, but I currently live in NY and had a rental for the day as I'm currently not a car owner. He went back inside, came out, and then notified me that I could NOT drive the vehicle because I did not have a NJ drivers license. I was skeptical about the truthfulness of his response. I was at another dealership right down the road before and had no issues test driving. So I inquired further with him. His response changed and he told me that normally he would be the vehicle on all test drives, but due to COVID-19 he could not be in the car, and as a result I could not test drive. Considering the inconsistencies of his reasoning, I responded letting Mike know that it felt that him and his manager did not trust me, and that I did not appreciate this sentiment. He responded asking me if I had other forms of ID to confirm my identity. This was further evidence that they believed that I was not trustworthy, which was frustrating but I proceeded nonetheless. I provided Mike with my Amex and my work ID. I'm a college Professor in NYC and thought my ID would be enough to corroborate my residence. He went back inside, spoke with his manager, and came back out and notified me that the only way I could test drive the vehicle was if he sat in the back with me on the drive. Mike and his manager did not trust me to the point that they were willing to ignore COVID 19 restrictions, and put my health and their health at risk. I let him know that this was not right, and he suggested that we don't have to test drive. I had driven an 1 hour and 45 minutes to the dealership, I liked the vehicle, and believed that it could be the right car for us. So, I put on my mask and test drove the car with Mike in the back. During the drive, I asked Mike whether they've had issues with people stealing their cars on test drives. He explained that a group of "Puerto Rican guys out of Newark'' were stealing cars from dealerships. Suddenly their hesitancy in letting me test drive finally made sense. Denying me a test drive was not because of my out of state drivers license, and it was not because of COVID 19 restrictions. Mike and his manager stereotyped me to be a thief whose intentions were to steal a vehicle on a test drive. They assumed that I was not a trustworthy person who did not have good intentions. The whole interaction and experience with this dealership was infuriating and demeaning. I cooperated with all their ask's, provided all the evidence that I was just genuinely interested in buying the car, and still I was presumed to be a threat. I could not help but wonder- Had I not looked Puerto Rican would they have given me all that pushback? Had I not looked Puerto Rican would I have been granted the trust and the benefit of the doubt that they immediately denied me? My wife and I passed on the vehicle, and I hope others reading this review choose to take their business elsewhere. And BTW I'm not even Puerto Rican. read more

Never in my life have I encountered a sales manager like Todd and his director. Firstly I went to malouf I'm january of 2015 only to be told by one of their young sales reps to tell me I shouldn't look at the impala because it would be out of my price range. This was before my credit was ran and before I even could mention I already had a preapproval from my bank. I immediately left and bought my vehicle from Elkins Chevy. This week I gave malouf another shot since I bring my car to their service dept being they are the closest dealer to me. Interested in buying a traverse, preapproval equipped again, I sat with Robert sales rep who was the upmost respectful and easy individual to work with. As negotiations progressed, he brought his sales manager Todd over to assist. I specifically explained to them both that I was turned off of buying from them previously due to the sales rep from 2015. Note he still works there. I explained what I needed n how much we were willing to spend each month. Todd came back to us 3 different times with different quotes, none of which fell into our requested limits. He stated this is the best they can do. Being this was only the 2nd dealer we stopped at, we said we wanted to sleep on it. Todd mentioned to put a deposit down which is completely refundable if we end up not proceeding. We did do so, left the dealer and continued to shop. We Found a great deal later that night at Ciocca Chevy in Princeton and we took it. We gave Todd at Malouf a call at 9 am on the dot when they opened to oet him know we changed our mind and I was coming in for the deposit. When I arrived, I was greeted with hostility. Immediately questioning what did he do wrong, why aren't we buying, what did we buy n from who. I respectfully explained we recieved a better deal and took it. Almost instantaneously, he starts to drilling me with questions stating he is extremely pissed and wants to know why I didnt take the deal with him. I kindly explained again that we found a better deal and took it and i honestly did not have to explain myself. He says '"oH I think you need to explain yourself and I need to figure out what I'm going to do because you played me.. im so pissed I cant believe you bought from someone else". I simply stated I need to go and would like my refund, he said to give him a moment and proceeded to his managers office. I sat for 15 minutes waiting, only to walk out of the office to see Todd leaned back in a chair in the managers office, hand and finger on the side of his face with an Angry expression. I once again asked about the refund and stated my 3 month old baby was in the car with my wife still waiting. He again, in front of his manager began to drill me with questions again stating how pissed he was. At this point in time I am now upset, the entire dealership is lined up outside the office watching the incident. After telling both Todd and his manager i need my refund immediately or I would contact the authorities. At this point in time. Very hesitantly Todd stands up and asks for my card to refund. The refund still took ANOTHER 10.MINS as I sat there to him and his boss still complaining saying how pissed they are. I told both of them that due to thos experience, I no longer will he servicing my car her, wont buy from them and would be posting this online. I explained to the manager that I can not believe that he would allow his subordinate talk to a customer that way, express hes oissed at me several times, delay my refund n hold me n my family up all because of his ego. Having a narcissistic egotistical sales manager has indefinitely lost my business. His manager then said well it shows what kind of person you are to say something like that. What kind of person I am because I was verbally disrespected by his employee Nd I'm providing me feedback? Malouf needs to revisit their training and who they have in their roles. Never had an issue with them. The rest of the sales team, todd the sales manager and his boss Bill that sits 2 offices from him are absolutely wrong for the face of the dealership. Twice, disrespected and belittled when I would have been putting money in their pocket. I came there when I installed new wheels on my Camaro and my TPMS system gave me a warning. This is a warning because new TPMS sensors were not paired to the system. It requires 2 minutes of work with a "pairing" tool and I know that many dealers do it free of charges. This dealership's service guy said that it will take them at least half an hour and that it will cost 40 bucks. I mean, seriously? For 2-3 minutes of work? It was especially insulting knowing that for 80 I can buy this TPMS pairing tool and do it myself anytime. I knew what the problem was and I knew what needed to be done, and I had to pay for it 40 dollars? I obviously refused and left. Too bad for this dealer, I was looking for a place to change oil and do some other things to my car, but I will be doing it elsewhere, apparently. read more

And if you didn't buy your car there but want to get it serviced there, forget it. Prepare to be treated like dirt. What a miserable experience from start to finish. Don't even try to get anything done with a recall there. They wanted 150 bucks just for a diag when I knew exactly what the issue was (and it was related to a recall). HA! The person who checked me in wasn't even from service - it was some stupid sales guy that had no business pretending to be a service advisor. I have worked for a car dealership in the service department before, and I *never* thought I would experience one as bad as this. When I leased my last Chevrolet through Malouf they included free oil changes for the duration of the lease. I was a tad hesitant since I've had dealerships in the past take hours for an oil change and found it easier to use a local shop. They assured me that wasn't the case with them and I gave them a chance. I have to say, I love their service department! Chris and Randy always took great care of me. Oil change appointments are easy to make and they definitely stick to the time of the appointment. I was never waiting more than an hour for my car. Their waiting area is really nice and they provide coffee/tea and a TV playing the local news. Free Wi-Fi too! The only snafu I had was minor paint damage that they caused and owed up to (before I had a chance to notice it, so kudos to them for their honesty). I wasn't happy about the damage but very impressed they owed up to it and did everything to make it right (long story short my car was fixed within a day and everything was good as new, it was minor damage). Sadly I purchased my next Chevy elsewhere as I couldn't come to an agreement with their sales dept. This isn't to say their sales dept is bad, you just need to go in with your research, know what you want to pay and be prepared to hold your ground (which is true of any dealership). I will say they are a low pressure dealership so you don't have to worry about harassing phone calls and tons of emails. I feel the loss of the second sale was due to bad timing. I will miss the free oil changes and the fabulous service dept! I will consider them in the future should I be on the market for a Chevy. read more

I feel obligated to write a review here since I had the complete opposite experience as I had at another dealership (Mall Chevrolet). I tried Mall Chevrolet again for my power steering recall but they proved to be incompetent & rude yet again. I took my car an hour north of where I live just to use this dealership which I've heard from word of mouth is reputable. Well they proved to be correct. After gaining no traction with Chevrolet or GM corporate and no traction with Mall Chevy in Cherry Hill, Chris V. at Malouf Chevrolet came through. He was professional and courteous. The mechanics were great also.My electrical power steering issue fixed at no charge because guess what my car was covered under the recall after all. I had previously said I would never buy a Chevy or a GM car again after some of the issues I've had, but I may just reconsider after this experience. read more

Previously very happy but after the way they are handling this recall (of a car THEY sold me), I wouldn't buy a used tricycle from them. When I first called about the recall, back in February, person was very annoyed that I called and that I read the newspapers; I should wait for GM to decide when they want to contact me (GM has known about these defective cars since 2004). I would have to wait until they could order parts before I could get an appointment. Call was months ago but parts for me were finallly ordered just a few days ago. And, it turns out, I can't get my dangerous, deadly car fixed anyway because they will not do repairs on nights or weekends--because, you know, the most important thing about this whole situation is that nobody at Malouf be inconvenienced. So I had to wait weeks for them to order a part, weeks more for parts to come in, then either take a day off wor k (which also means someone else will have to take a day off THEIR job to cover what I do) or else just continue to drive a car that GM has known all along has deadly flaws. Oh, and I can't go get it fixed anywhere else, becausethe parts they finally got around to ordering are specifically mine and no one else can get them for my car. Or so I'm told. Salesperson Rich Esposito is THE BEST! Rich sold us a Chevy Silverado in 2017 and then a Chevy Traverse in 2019. Both of those were the most positive car buying experiences my husband and I have had in our 30 years of car purchasing experiences. He is so friendly, knowledgeable and trustworthy. Rich made sure that we had everything that we wanted and needed and then went the extra mile to surprise us with even more than we expected. Both times, the process was fast and hassle free and we left with the confidence that we received the best deal available. The finance department was also fast and easy, with none of the back and forth, "let me talk to the manager" tactics that make people distrust car dealerships. The service department is excellent, even though we've only had to use it for the standard oil changes and one Chevrolet recall. However, the lack of use also speaks highly of the Chevrolet quality. In fact, we were hit by other drivers on two occasions and our Chevy sustained minimal damage while both of the other cars were severely damaged. With our kids in the car frequently, we've decided that we will only drive Chevys from now on. After having visited many car dealerships and having driven many different car brands in our lives, Malouf Chevrolet, and Rich Esposito specifically, are miles ahead of the others. read more

I called about turning in my GM lease and before I could even complete my sentence a person and the other end of the phone interrupted me and said that he was not interested in taking in my lease , his lots were full , and had no time to be bothered, and I should bring it back to the original dealer where I leased it from . I thought it was rather strange to get that kind of response from an auto dealer, if he had let me complete my sentence he would have found out that I was on the market for a new car as well as turning in my old lease. So while I never got to do business with this dealer, that one phone call painted a rather vivid picture for me. Needless to say I'm looking elsewhere to take my business to somebody would at least let me finish my sentences. I wonder if that's one of the reasons why his lot is full! read more

Shudder is now gone -- 2017 Colorado fixed with the flush -- it took about 6 hours but having the loaner car helped -- who wants to sit in a service waiting room on their day off - especially for an issue covered under the warranty. Would never go here again. Tried to get part for 3 days. Parts is only open 8-5 everyday so if you have a job forget about it. Sent my friend at 8am and they didn't have change. Tried charging it but nope to that too. So I go in...no parking. Waiting at window for 5 minutes while employees chat. Different guy shows up and I ask for part. Again they want my vin. The service manager, Jeanine Lakes goes above and beyond to insure that a customer is taken care. She is extremely attentive and offers great customer service. She explains all the details regarding your service and follow ups with the phone calls throughout the day. She is very friendly and courteous and even offers you a yummy biscotti while you wait. I must agree with the bad reviews. The women in the office are exceptional BUT when it comes to the actual service department they are lacking terribly. On my last visit for a recall repair, after the repair I noticed that they installed the center console wrong. Basically it was not lined up correctly. Also, every time I go for an oil change they take forever. They are always super backed up. I have to call days in advance. And even though I call in advance it takes them 3 to 4 hours minimum to do an oil change and rotate my tires. During my very first oil change, they actually scuffed up my car on the rear passenger side fender and denied it! I mean, I only owned the car for a couple of months and they're saying that the damage was caused by me!! that really pissed me off. On another occasion one of my runflat tires went flat and I needed a replacement. I call ahead and they say sure come right in. I was shocked because I expected them to say come in in like three days or something. But when I got there they did not have the tires in stock at all!!! wtf!!!! The woman, who I must say is very pleasant, because it is not her fault her service department sucks, called up Mcguire Cadillac down the road to see if they have the tires and they had, and I quote, "plenty in stock". I had my last Cadillac with Mcguire and they are always excellent. Not to mention that if they are going to hold your car for a few hours they will always give you a loaner at no charge. Guess what Maloof gives you... a cup of bad coffee and a waiting room. I don't usually do reviews, especially bad ones but this is just not what I'm used to driving a premium American car. This place is exactly what you fear in a car dealership. They boldface lied about multiple things!! For instance the money factor on lease which they stated was set by Chevy, well at least that part is true but they practically doubled it from true rate of 1.75 to 3.17 which was for our credit score which was in 800s. They also said they would throw in all weather mats when they already came with car as well as 2 free oil changes. Found our Chevy offers free oil change and tire rotation for all leases for the first 24,000 or 2 years. Also, said had to be 39 month lease- not true and more expensive, 36 was allowed. Also, promised to pay one of last lease payments but then just added to cost. Failed to subtract money down so had we signed it would have just been extra money in their pockets. They tried to act like it was a mistake but too many lies. And if it was a mistake they never said sorry or tried to make right. Other Chevy dealers came in w 50% less down and payments $36 dollars cheaper than them. However, in the end they wouldn't trade car with them to sell to me saying it wasn't allowed w dealer cars - but that's not true either! Be a business- make money- but don't lie and try to deceive. Chevy has great products but not everyone selling them matches up to their products. My advice, try another dealer! Other advice, if they do this or have done this to you file a complaint with GM or Better Business Bureau. Warn others on sites like this so people know!! read more

Went in to get an appraisal on the truck I have driven for 10 years. Get my keys back and go to drive away, and the four wheel drive is stuck on. The gear box won't switch back. When I confront the used car appraiser he says "it was already broken", and denies doing anything to it. Well I didn't touch the four wheel drive. Now I have to go to an outside mechanic to fix it because they won't fix what they broke. The salesman I dealt with was no help,and I doubt I get any sort of reply from the general manager. read more

Have had excellent service here for almost 7 years and should have written this earlier. I have to say Chris in Service is outstanding - consistently so over a long time period so the goodness is not a one-off and done. They've kept me safe on the road with normal maintenance, no overcharging and no excessive cost. Comfortable lounge area to wait (has reading material like Wine Spectator) with a small offictype cubicle if you want to get work done. You can plug in your laptop. Ladies room has always been attractive, clean, fresh and well supplied. read more

Bait and Switch Alert! I took my SRX in for the manufacturer's paid oil change. The vehicle has 31K miles. I asked the service writer to let me know if there were any maintenance item things due as i hadn't looked at the manual beforehand. I also asked to have the brake pads swapped out front and rear using the $99 per axle coupon i received. I didn't need the rotors cut, they're fine. An hour later she tells me that coupon doesn't cover these brake shoes, but they can do a whole brake job for $650. Then she tells me i need a fuel injector flush for $130, a transmission fluid flush at $190, an alignment just because we had a rough winter (it's not pulling or unevenly wearing tires), and a host of other nonsense things. I thought i was at Jiffy Lube. I okayed the fuel injector flush and asked if the trans fluid was due at this point per the manufacturers specs as it seemed really early? is this the manufacturer's recommendation? is it in the manual schedule at 31K miles? Oh yes i was assured. An hour later, as they're writing me up, i see on their TV monitor, next to the$99 brake pad special which does not exist, another brake pad special for $159 per axle using original equipment! I ask her about that--as i would pay $159 per axle for original equipment brake shoes. Guess what? Not for my car---those pads aren't for my car. I ask, but it says original equipment? AC Delco? How could they not be? No no no. (Translation you're not getting brake shoes unless you pay us to cut the rotors and rob you blind.). Fine, now i just want away from this woman. i pay for the trans fluid change, the injector flush and go out to my car. I check the manual. Guess when a trans fluid is due? 97K miles, not 31K miles. I go back in to point this out. The woman shows me a different maintenance schedule for harsh environments, like Princeton NJ. There it says the trans fluid change is due at 45K miles! I point out the car has 31K, not 45K. Why did she tell me it was due per the manufacturer? Guess what? she insists now that it was really dirty and needed to be changed. Hard for me to challenge that now that its been drained and mixed with all the other trans fluids they're disposing of. But that wasn't the story when she told me it was per the manufacturer's schedule. I have bought 3 cars from the Malouf Group. I will never ever use these people again. read more
