My significant other and I gave Cedar Point a try. We decided to ride Blue Streak as our first ride. Blue Streak is an important part of Cedar Point history with it being their oldest roller coaster. There was a storage bin to put your belongings, so that was a plus! I enjoyed every aspect of this coaster. It did have some shaking on the track, but that was expected. The first drop felt great! Blue Streak - Blue Streak - Amusement Parks Near Me - Sandusky, Ohio

We're here today to ride Blue Streak. A classic wooden coaster located at Cedar Point. Now, this ride is the last of the wooden coasters at Cedar Point. Most of them being old asf from the 30's, that were demolished long before I was alive. So I never got to ride those. And then there was Mean Streak which.... didn't have a good reputation and was RMCd into Steel Vengeance. So that leaves Blue Streak. And all I can say is that this ride is FREAKING AWFUL. I'm sorry if you like it, I stand by it. So what makes Blue Streak so bad? Well let's get into it. We first get into the PTC wooden coaster trains. Which, these are not well made. They're crampt, and the lapbar DIGS into your legs. So if you're riding with a larger rider, it's not gonna be fun. So the ride hasn't started yet and I already hate it. NOT A GOOD SIGN. We then head leave the station, and head up the lift hill. We then head down the first drop, I think there's airtime? I can't tell. This ride is too busy trying to send me back to the chiropractor for me to notice. And the worst part is, this ride is going SUPER fast. On most coasters, that would be awesome as it means you get airtime. But here, you're having your shins get crushed by those awful restraints while the ride tries to shake you around and bully you like that one girl did to me back in elementary school (Thanks for that Rachael). After going through several of these airtime hills, I wanted to get off. But sadly, we have to brace for that awful turnaround which makes you feel like you're in a car accident. You then have to brace for even more airtime hills as this ride goes at full speed. Continuing to beat the crap out of you as you scream "OW OW OW." Eventually, you hit the brake run. Thanking the lord that it's over. I'm honestly really sad to write this review. I did NOT expect to have this opinion on Blue Streak. It's a historic ride that on paper should be good. But you can tell that Cedar Point has not been taking care of it. Because now it's on the same level of rides as Manhatten Express before the 2022 refurb, Green Lantern, and Coast Rider. I never got to ride Mean Streak, but I imagine I'd like that ride more than this. At least Mean Streak looked to be smooth and was just boring. This was just brutal. I'd call for the wrecking ball, but like I said, it's a historic wooden coaster. And we all know how the OTHER Blue Streak turned out (F*CK YOU TODD JOSEPH). So if Cedar Point could, I'd love to see GCI or the Gravity Group come in and give this ride a makeover to make it good. Until then, I would NOT recommend riding Blue Streak unless you're a historic coaster nut or you're wearing lots of padding. COBALT CLASSIC I still have a whole lotta love to give to Cedar Point's oldest operating coaster....even if it runs rough around the edges. Opened in May of '64, 'Blue Streak' might deliver a ride that's 'BS' to some on account of its age. Then again, once YOU hit 53 years old you'll have a lot of bumps in weird places too. People might not like you as much as they did when you were a fresh twenty-something, just sayin'. Old Blue reaches a top speed of 40mph and features the ride's trademark steeple at the crest of the coaster's 78ft lift hill. Trains still feature the "buzz bar" lap restraints and seatbelts. The PTC-designed cars are rather boxy and not terribly comfortable. One cycle runs about 1-3/4 minutes; thankfully there's no block brake, MCBR, or trims. 'Blue Streak' runs full tilt, so despite being tied for 3rd-slowest coaster at the park, you still get that wonderful sensation of being out of control. Riding in the back row with Nichole C, we were treated to some nice pops of airtime which caught me by surprise. I didn't think an aging coaster like this would generate such pleasant negative-G moments, but it did and I felt 'em. The turnaround adjacent to the parking lot features some fun laterals.....thank god for side friction wheels!!! Evidently I'm not alone in appreciating this CP staple at the front of the park -- in 2013 it was ranked 27th worldwide in the Golden Ticket Awards for wooden coasters, and considering it's up against titans like 'Voyage', 'El Toro', 'The Beast', and many others, placing in the top 30 is quite an accomplishment for a vintage ride. Simply put, 'Blue Streak' is neither new nor insanely thrilling like its brethren directly to the east, but it puts a smile on my face nevertheless. I do not love this ride. My father loves it, so I get sucked into get on it since it is at the front and the lines are not too long but it is not an enjoyable coaster for me. It is quite old, perhaps one of the originals but it hurts my back and I am sore when I get off of it. It was probably amazing back in the day when there were fewer options but now with better theming and better technology they should either update it or perhaps replace it with something else. The rest of my family do not seem to love it either and would rather skip it. read more

In front of the park near Valravn and a ride where it is more of the kids. It is small and wooden and the seats are very tight for 2 adults. It is like going on the Woodstock Express down there. Only Woody at the park and it was still super smooth the last time I rode it 2012. For a nearly 60 year old roller coaster it is incredibly smooth there is a little bit of lateral g forces but it's got a lot of floater airtime. read more

This coaster packs a punch, but it is rough. I initially planned on skipping it but my niece wanted to ride it. It felt very fast and was better than alot of wooden coasters I've been on, but its very short and its extremely rough. read more

I'm laughing and crying at the same time after this ride. Laughing because Cedar Point must be joking to keep this jalopy of coaster going side by side with Valravn, etc. and crying because 1 week later, my body is still aching and bruised from the tossing and bouncing from the rough ride! Best thing bout this ride is no Fast Pass needed here all day. The gifts shops should have a "I survived Blue Streak" tee shirt, man. read more

It's a cute little coaster. Nothing fancy or spectacular but it will do the deed and is close to the entrance. It will get you into the amusement park spirit when entering the park. Plus the workers who work this ride are usually pretty friendly and there is never a wait unless the rest of the park is packed. read more
