    A Classic

Magnum, when built in 1989, was the tallest, fastest, and steepest complete-circuit roller coaster in the world as well as the first hypercoaster - a roller coaster that exceeds 200 feet in height. Fast forward 30 years, Magnum still a fun ride! It gives you a nice view of the water and the Park itself. So keeps your eyes opening and enjoy the Panorama view! The ride is bumpy and rough but was fun. When I was there, there was no line at all so we just walked in and got on the next ride. Recommend for nostalgic reason and to experience one of the historical rides that started a period in the industry known as the roller coaster wars.

Alright so there is a part of me that really wants to like this Coaster because of it's history and importance to anyone who loves rides and enjoys coasters as much as I do but there's also a big part of me that really wants to hate this coaster just as much! This coaster is in it's own way super cool but not as much fun as one would like as when you're riding your constantly bashing your legs up agains the hard restraint that's keeping you from flying out so much so that it just kinda ruins whatever fun that you had before this part in the ride. Magnum XL is also the only hyper coaster ever built by the awesomeness that is Arrow Dynamics it's for that reason that this ride is special to the Coaster society but I must say after finally riding it I wish I hadn't because it just destroyed any type of fun time I thought it was! The ride itself is decently long and takes you to the shores of the lake and through a bit of the waterpark as your going up and down and through a few tunnels on your ever so bumpy ride. Overall Magnum is screaming for help so that It can remain at the top of it's once greatness in the Coaster world I really hope that Cedar Point makes an effort to help make this once awesome ride as amazing as it once was again because it definitely deserves that much! Long live the awesomeness that is Arrow!

A classic, but still good ride that'll give airtime and a thrill to any enthusiast. This was my first larger roller coaster and I prefer it to millennium force, top thrill, etc. steel vengence and maverick having my first two spots. You won't regret it! The ride might be a little old but it still provides such a fun experience, especially that tunnel! Here's a picture of my first time HAVE FUN! Edit I'm the terrified girl in the first car lol

The trains are SO very 80's.

The ORIGINAL hypercoaster still hits like a bullet of the highest caliber. "The Great Coaster Wars" of the 1990's and 2000's began with this Arrow Dynamics-designed steel monstrosity that put Cedar Point on the map. After that, there was simply no turning back for the revered amusement park. This landmark installation provided the tinder for the powder keg which ignited the desire for places to build the longest, tallest, fastest, steepest, craziest goddamn thrill machines on the planet. Magnum, quite simply, is the one that started it all. With a height of 205ft, riders are given a picturesque view of Lake Erie from the chain lift hill's apex before racing down a 60° drop. Indeed, Magnum broke ALL SORTS of records upon her opening (FYI, Magnum isn't an "it", Magnum is a "she." And she is still a radiantly beautiful 27-year old.) She was unveiled as the fastest, tallest, and steepest complete-circuit steel roller coaster in the world. She runs alongside the beach at 72mph, making her tied for 4th fastest coaster at the park. With a track length of 5,106ft, she's Cedar Point's 3rd-longest roller coaster and since her Spring '89 debut, more than 40 million people have experienced what I already know: that it's not about the number of years in your life, but instead the amount of life in your years. Over the 2 minute ride, you're treated to three tunnels, a pretzel loop turnaround that packs plenty of lateral + positive G's, and a return trip back to the station that's absolutely LOADED with airtime. In fact, Magnum (aka 'Maggie') has the most powerful negative G's in the park, as well as some of the most ample airtime of any coaster I've ever ridden. The seven bunny hops yield 'ejector seat' moments, particularly in the front row but not as much in the rear of the train. Only one or two coasters in the USA come to mind that have more airtime than my beloved Maggie. She could use some new trains & restraints (the ratcheting lapbars aren't the most comfy), but her notoriety and extremely short lines make up for that. The tunnels are lovely, too. And taking those first few hills along the lakefront at night is nothing short of breathtaking. ?BinsNoBins? = NoBins. But I couldn't care less. Take her as she is, that's good enough for me. I should mention that Maggie was one of my first, real big deal roller coasters. Sure, there was Whizzer and Demon and whatnot, but breaking the 200+ foot barrier was my first step towards a life of adrenaline-seeking. Without Maggie, there is no Raging Bull, no Millennium Force, no Dragster. Maggie in many ways was like my first true love, and that's something you never forget. And before you get all "eeeww that's gross, pretending like a roller coaster is your lover", firstly shut up, and secondly literally every man on the planet has at one point referred to a machine/device as "their [insert feminine name]". Guys have girly names for their cars, or their boats, or their planes. Some even have one for their phone (need I remind you about the movie 'Her'?) So why not a roller coaster, hmmm? Eric S's Cedar Point coaster ranking = 3rd out of 13. Verdict : oh Maggie. Dear, sweet Maggie. I remember all that you've done for me. Although my words cannot do my feelings justice, I will try. A sonnet, written in your gleaming metallic honor: You always make me smile, You forever make me feel alive. Without you, I wouldn't be the coaster-obsessed Yelper I am today. Without you, I would've never become Eric "that coaster guy" S. We've come a long way from where we began, I'll tell you all about it when I ride you again. Someday.....I will ride you again.

It was pretty crowded when we went on Friday, but probably not as bad as it might be on a Saturday. We immediately went on Raptor when we got in, then Gatekeeper, Millennium, Top Thrill 2, and Steel Vengeance. Every line took about an hour. We spent about 6 hours there and only went on 5 rollercoasters. At certain rides, you can buy a fast pass at a kiosk right next to the line. We chose to buy the fast pass for Top Thrill 2 and Steel Vengeance, but neither were worth it imo. For an extra $50 (both rides combined per person), it really did not feel like we got in any faster because the lines at Top Thrill 2 seemed to be the same length whether you were fast pass or not, and Steel Vengeance was closed for awhile, but they just opened up when we got there so everybody ran in and the line was short regardless. I love The Peanuts characters and theme throughout the park. Seeing Snoopy was a highlight! I also love that there's a beach right outside. I enjoyed walking right up to the beach and putting my feet into the water. It's a nice break from the loud hectic amusement park! The food prices inside the park are high, which is to be expected. I got an Auntie Anne's pretzel with cheese dip and a large coke and all of that costed almost $20. There's also a Starbucks inside the park that seems like it's always busy. It looks like all the coffee's cost over $8. My favorite rides in order were definitely: Steel Vengeance (felt like such a long ride and was super fun), Millennium, Top Thrill 2 (people hype this one up as being super scary but it was such a short ride I feel like I wanted to go on it a second time but the line was not worth it), Gatekeeper, and Raptor. I wish we went on more but it was hot out and we had to leave to get to a dinner reservation. I'd love to come back and complete the rides we didn't do!

So I'm going to say that the ride itself is exhilarating and fun but the fact that it's only 1 minute long is a bummer. I wouldn't find myself waiting to ride this for longer than a half hour. Not going to waste time in a line for a ride that's not very long. But the whole theme of it is pretty original. When I'm not on it and you hear the noises, it can be deceiving of what the noises are but when youre on the coaster you realize it's like... sound affects of sirens singing! The whole 90 degree shift hold and drop is epic and worth the lack of time in the ride but it's honestly disappointing how short it is.

Luckily when we waited it ended up being about 45 minutes. What makes this ride unique is the 90 degree tilt at the beginning. The rest of the ride is a combo of barrel rolls and high speed turns. I think I would've enjoyed the ride more if the queue had more shade. By the time you're at the front you're exhausted from the heat. This is a ride where you cannot bring anything with you. There are small complimentary lockers right before the metal detectors.

It's got this wild, untamed wilderness vibe that perfectly fits its name. The first lift hill leads into a jaw-dropping 95-degree drop that instantly wakes you up, followed by crazy, whip-fast turns that keep your heart racing the entire ride. The sleek design, bold colors, and overall atmosphere make it feel like you're on a roller coaster adventure through the backcountry. One of my favorite moments is the unexpected launch underneath the station that shoots you toward the water section -- it's a rush like no other. Like Millennium Force, Maverick's iconic silhouette is visible from the road as you approach the park, a beacon of thrills calling you in. Ride Stats: 4,450 feet of track * 70 mph top speed * 95-degree drop * 2 minutes 30 seconds ride time Best Seat: Front row for pure speed, back row for maximum airtime Pro Tip: Avoid the midday crowds -- rope drop or the last ride of the night means way less waiting. Photo-Worthy? Absolutely, especially near the first drop and water section. Personal Note: This coaster quickly became my favorite at Cedar Point for its unique mix of wild design and intense thrills. Every ride feels like a new adventure, and that launch under the station still gets me every time.

Blue Streak is an important part of Cedar Point history with it being their oldest roller coaster. There was a storage bin to put your belongings, so that was a plus! I enjoyed every aspect of this coaster. It did have some shaking on the track, but that was expected. The first drop felt great! I feel that this coaster is a classic and I'm glad it's appreciated! Most of them being old asf from the 30's, that were demolished long before I was alive. So I never got to ride those. And then there was Mean Streak which.... didn't have a good reputation and was RMCd into Steel Vengeance. So that leaves Blue Streak. And all I can say is that this ride is FREAKING AWFUL. I'm sorry if you like it, I stand by it. So what makes Blue Streak so bad? Well let's get into it. We first get into the PTC wooden coaster trains. Which, these are not well made. They're crampt, and the lapbar DIGS into your legs. So if you're riding with a larger rider, it's not gonna be fun. So the ride hasn't started yet and I already hate it. NOT A GOOD SIGN. We then head leave the station, and head up the lift hill. We then head down the first drop, I think there's airtime? I can't tell. This ride is too busy trying to send me back to the chiropractor for me to notice. And the worst part is, this ride is going SUPER fast. On most coasters, that would be awesome as it means you get airtime. But here, you're having your shins get crushed by those awful restraints while the ride tries to shake you around and bully you like that one girl did to me back in elementary school (Thanks for that Rachael). After going through several of these airtime hills, I wanted to get off. But sadly, we have to brace for that awful turnaround which makes you feel like you're in a car accident. You then have to brace for even more airtime hills as this ride goes at full speed. Continuing to beat the crap out of you as you scream "OW OW OW." Eventually, you hit the brake run. Thanking the lord that it's over. I'm honestly really sad to write this review. I did NOT expect to have this opinion on Blue Streak. It's a historic ride that on paper should be good. But you can tell that Cedar Point has not been taking care of it. Because now it's on the same level of rides as Manhatten Express before the 2022 refurb, Green Lantern, and Coast Rider. I never got to ride Mean Streak, but I imagine I'd like that ride more than this. At least Mean Streak looked to be smooth and was just boring. This was just brutal. I'd call for the wrecking ball, but like I said, it's a historic wooden coaster. And we all know how the OTHER Blue Streak turned out (F*CK YOU TODD JOSEPH). So if Cedar Point could, I'd love to see GCI or the Gravity Group come in and give this ride a makeover to make it good. Until then, I would NOT recommend riding Blue Streak unless you're a historic coaster nut or you're wearing lots of padding.
