Our pool build was finished May 2025 and we have been using Premier Pool Service since. We have…read morethem come out 1x per week to service our pool. They are always on time. I like the emails that are sent out with the weekly service updates. The cost is worth it -- great value!!

I posted the previous review in exchange for a few free months of service. I have now had this…read morecompany servicing my pool for almost a year, and I can say.... STAY AWAY. I have called several times directly to the manager / owner. I have received ONE CALL back, which I was unable to answer but received a voicemail. I have sent several emails. No response. Maybe a review will get their attention? We pay for their highest tier of service which should include vaccumming (when needed), clean filter every 4 months (they have done this ONCE in about a year), balance water chemistry (assuming this means more than taking chlorine and pH and sending those readings to the homeowner...thats all they do....and those arent balanced let me tell you), check pool equipment, brush waterline tile, benches, cabo shelf, and steps, net pool of debris, empty pool skimmer, sweep, filter basket. This is 195 dollars per month. Here is the problem. 1) We have been dealing with algae for over 2 months now. Our pool is brand new (finished Sept 2025). I initally discovered the algae on our cabo shelf after being on vacation for 4 days. It started staining the bottom of the shelf. Our pool technician did not ever see it. I showed him. He told me it was rust. When I told him I had been sweeping the pool several times a day to get rid of it and keep it at bay, he said it was algae. He shocked the pool and did muriatic acid. It would improve for a few days and then algae was back. It had spread to the sides of the pool but mostly concentrated on our bench and cabo shelf areas. 2) Our technician regularly tests pH and chlorine. Both numbers are always 8 (pH) and 0 (chlorine) which are not good levels. After several weeks of him testing these same numbers and doing the same thing of adding extra shock, acid, or algaecide (which wasnt working), I talked to the technician again. He said the chlorine should never be 0 (but they keep it at 0....literally since day 1), but that our pH could be high due to the acid treatments he does. After a while, he said he could try testing additional items. He tested phosphates and said ours were high and that we would need to pay an additional $200 for them to clean our filter and do a special phosphate treatment. I advised that I wanted it taken care of even if I had to pay (although I think that is quite unfair considering they havent tested it / have let it build up for a year and havent controlled any of the numbers appropriately). Meanwhile, we continue to have 0.00 ppm of chlorine in our pool and algae, and no phosphate treatment to my knowledge. 3) Pool brushing. This was a big one for me and part of the reason I was willing to pay more for a "higher tier". I have been brushing my pool several times a day. Especially the cabo shelf and bench. I asked my technician what they brush and he told me the tile line. I asked him why they would not brush the shelf, benches, steps, and upper sides of the pool (where the algae has been a problem for us) and he said they only do that "if there is visible algae". I wish I was joking. I suppose I could stop brushing it myself and let it build up so they could see it enough to perform their end of the contract (per contract they should do the bench, steps, shelf, tile EVERY week). 4) Emptying pool basket, filter, etc. Our technician empties these on the concrete right where he picks them up. Instead of into a bag, or maybe the trash can.....it drives me insane. I sweep it up every single week... I already know I will have a mess by the pool equipment and pool basket I have emailed them to ask that they use a trash can but no response. Common sense I think? 5) Communication. When I tell you its SO BAD, please take heed. This is a large company, and the Rocklin office is an ofshoot of that. You cant get ahold of anyone and there is zero communication and follow through. I cant even get anyone to call me so I can get out of my contract and hire someone competent. Our technician is kind, respectful, and professional. The vibe I get is that he has very little direction / supervision / support from this company, and that the company is very poorly run. At this point, I think all should be aware that the positive reviews on here are highly incentivized. Some of the reviews are for Premier Pools (the builder)...don't be fooled there either. Premier pools (builder) are absolutely amazing. But the POOL SERVICING company is NOT THE SAME. Do not go with this company unless you enjoy paying a higher price than comparable companies in exchange for horrible service.

Highly recommend Chris and TC Pool Service!…read more Chris was quick to respond to my questions and was very thoughtful and thorough in his answers. He has many years of experience with pool care so he definitely knows what he's doing. His customers' pools are in good hands. His weekly pool service is reasonably priced. TC Pools also has a cool-looking website (https://tcpoolsllc.com/ ) where you can see more positive reviews from customers. They can also help you with variable speed pool pumps as well as robotic cleaners. Chris is a wealth of information! Definitely give Chris & TC Pools a call for your swimming pool needs. I like how I can just message Chris via Yelp and receive fast replies. Love an owner who puts his customers first and responds promptly to all inquiries. :)

I am not sure what happened with TC Pool Service. My technician was Chris, the owner. Everything…read morewas fine up to about three weeks ago, when Chris serviced the pool and said he would follow up that evening with a quote to replace the timer on the pool sweep. However, I never heard back from him. Today is the third week with no service and no response from multiple texts or phone calls. I tried leaving a message on the alternate phone number from the website, but have received no response. I am now left with a green pool and no service (I assume) which is very frustrating. If he didn't want to service my pool any longer, he should've told me three weeks ago, so I wouldn't have a lapse in service and therefore a green pool. Based off previous reviews, it seems common for this company to just ghost their clients and eventually not show up.

Capital Lawn & Pool has been such a great find for us. When we were looking for someone who…read moreactually knew how to maintain a saltwater hot tub and an above-ground pool, it was surprisingly hard to find -- and they knew exactly what they were doing. One thing I really appreciate is their communication. They text about 30 minutes before arriving, and we usually get the same technician, which I love because he already knows our setup. When they finish, the pool water always looks crystal clear -- that satisfying "sparkling blue" moment when you walk outside. They're also very organized. After each visit they send a report with a photo of the pool and detailed notes on the chemicals and everything they checked, which I really appreciate. One thing to know: they won't remove items from the pool unless you specifically ask. My daughter once left some pool toys in there and I assumed they might grab them, but the technician explained they leave anything in the pool alone in case the homeowner placed it there intentionally. Totally understandable -- just something to be aware of. The owners are very responsive as well. We had an issue once and they actually came out themselves to help resolve it quickly. They're consistently on time, and the one time our tech was sick he texted to let me know he'd be out the next day. Helpful tip: if you want anything removed from the pool (toys, floats, etc.), just let them know ahead of time.

And…read morethe lines had a lot of air in them as evident from the floating pool sweep and the air coming out every morning at start up. I was thinking a replacement of the entire filter system was in order. Called NPS to take a look, and had to set up an appointment. Nelson from NPS inspected the system and ran the filter. I was out of town at the moment, and he called me and gave me some great advice. He agreed it was old system, but wanted me to troubleshoot a couple of things before deciding to replace. Even though the replacement price seemed reasonable to me. I got home from vacation, followed Nelson's instructions. After removing the filters and testing the pressure without the filters, I decided to buy new filters myself and replace. Runs great! No replacement of the system needed. The trip to diagnose was free and didn't cost me a thing for NPS. They didn't try to sell me something I thought I needed. They were only interested in finding the cause of the issue and letting me know what should be done. I still have an older filter system, but it is running great. And when it gets to the point of needing replacement, I know where to go! Five stars for sure! Thank you Nelson and NPS Pool Service!
