    Blueberry pancakes

I had the pleasure of having a take out breakfast from here today. I'll get straight to it - it was amazing. From start to finish, simply amazing. The food was tasty, well presented, and ample. My companion and I shared the meal, easily. We ordered blueberry pancakes, meat lover's omelette, and hash-browns. Everything tasted fresh and homemade. Take out service is quick and efficient. The take out counter is right at the door, my meal was waiting for my upon arrival. I didn't have much interaction with the staff, but what I did have was cordial and polite. They have a small but really cozy atmosphere.

    Stuffed French toast

Portions were very big, staff were super friendly and I felt the price for the quantity was a good deal. Was definitely a fan of their stuffed French toast.

"Veggie omelette" minus the hair and bacon

I didn't want to write this as I know bad reviews can impact people's jobs/ livelihood, but I am actually very upset about the situation. I searched for a place to eat breakfast with my 1yr old and came across this place. I couldn't find their menu online or even their facebook page so I called in. After being told they don't know where I can find their menu online, I awkwardly order what I think they would have over the phone with the older women. I picked up the to go order, spent a bit over $18 and took it home to eat with my small child. There was a huge hair in my veggie omelette along with cheese that I asked to leave off. Not to mention I don't eat pork and my french toast tasted like bacon grease. I put my child back in the car and drove back to notify them of my concerns. The older woman at the register stated she will have the order remade. It was remade "correctly" this time but they didn't remake the toast I gave back which I mentioned she sighed and told me it will be another wait. I said that's fine and we waited. She apologized for the hair and I said it's ok have a good day. My child was fussy at this point we got our stuff and went back home. I begin to cut into my omelette (thank god I didn't just start eating it) and there was a fat piece of bacon in it. I called the store just to be told the line was busy for a half an hour. Finally reached the lady again told her what happened and she said she will issue a refund to me. I couldn't get back in for my refund until the following day since I had to work. I go back in with my child waiting to get a refund and they hand me a $10 gift certificate to eat at their diner. I just said I will give it to someone else and went about my day. Never will I recommend nor eat at this place. Good luck to them as I know they will be closing their doors soon.

Big place, good service , good food, as most places always struggle with help ..but they do a good job .

It's decent-sized once you get in, plus they have an extra party room. We went there on my birthday, which was kind of a letdown. My friend ordered the corned beef and cabbage, which I also ordered. But the waitress talked me out of it and told me I should order the enchiladas so I could share. So I did, but I told her absolutely no onions because I am allergic to them. I started eating my enchilada and pulled out a huge onion and then like ten more. After pulling out all the onions I couldn't eat, there was barely any meat, so I was basically eating tortilla in sauce. I told our waitress and she apologized and told me that she told the cook no onions. I told her not to worry about it. My friend's corned beef and cabbage was good. The corned beef was a huge portion and cooked perfectly, but the cabbage was a little overcooked. Our waitress was very nice, but did not offer to take my meal off the bill, so I paid for something that could have harmed me. For $38, I was really hoping for a better experience and food, but I am willing to give it another try someday because they have such a huge menu. Next time, I think I will try their biscuits and gravy.

Fried carrot pakora was delicious! Highly recommend trying. The radish dish was ok, has a strange aftertaste but the fried capers were good. The pastas were both flavorful with homemade noodles. We went during happy hour, which is a great deal. A bit expensive if you don't go during happy hour. The beet spice cake was warm, flavorful and the syrup on top you could drink! I guess I'll skip to the end when I got my check, and was completely shocked to learn that I had a fantastic meal and an excellently made spritz, plus dessert, for a shockingly low price. I even double-checked the check, to make sure they didn't accidentally leave something off. No! How could it be? It turns out that I was visiting Rune during happy hour, which is Tuesday through Saturday from 5 to 6 p.m. This could be why my bill was so agreeable. So, if you're looking for a great meal for a great price, visit during happy hour. So, the spritz. Literally every table ordered the spritz while I was there, including me. It was a great choice, and it looked especially pretty and ombre in a glass with ice. Like any good spritz, it had just enough alcohol to make things sparkle a little, but was also refreshing and hydrating. I made a note in my phone to remember that the bartender used words like "vegetal" and "herbaceous" when talking about some of the cocktails to the people sitting at the bar. I love a good vegetal, herbaceous drink, and it made me want to order another cocktail. Instead, I ordered the green spaghetti from the happy hour menu, which is a paired down menu, but has a lot of the items from the regular menu. The spaghetti was bright green from a pesto made from ramps, nori butter and parmesan, and there were also bits of clams throughout. It was rich and buttery! Ramps are one of those things that I have to get when I see them on a menu during the spring. They're only around for a short time, so they're precious. For dessert, I went with the pot de creme, which was flavored with pho spices (cinnamon, anise, coriander, cardamom, fennel, etc.) and had peanuts and chocolate on the bottom. Holy fudgy bottom! This was the smoothest, most balanced dessert I've eaten in a long time. Smooth, but with the occasional peanut here and there to make things interesting. The service was excellent. I was dining by myself, so I got seated at a cozy little table, lit with a candle, that was off to the side but also in the center of everything, so I could people watch, which is one of my favorite things to do. I wanted for nothing the entire time, but was also left the eff alone. It was perfect. It was one of the best dining experiences I've had that I can remember.

My husband got the Joanna's Skillet with over easy eggs and a side of pancakes, while I got the same thing but scrambled eggs. I think it might be better with over easy eggs, just because it gives you a little sauce to coat your skillet in. I don't know how they get their skillets to be so tasty, but it's fantastic and a must get when you're here. Pancakes are nice and fluffy, good amount of butter, and plenty of syrup. I think the price is around $15, but the menu is extensive, and way too much to post pictures. I do want to try the chorizo skillet and (maybe if I feel wild one day) the crepes. But it's really, really hard to not get the skillet. The food is always good here. Service was fantastic and always friendly. The place was cutely decorated with Christmas decorations. For the price, this is the best spot for breakfast/lunch.

Boy, were we impressed! The service was so quick & friendly that I even got excited about being there. The restaurant is well-lit, unlike other local diners, which was nice. I haven't had such good bacon & eggs in a long time. My waffle was standard, but still worth the trip. Our server even thought to bring butter without me asking, also delightful. My fiancé LOVED the country skillet. He prefers filling meals & he only got through half of the dish! That's saying a lot because he got a lot of food, delivering real value! Our server was friendly & did an excellent job with taking care of us. We cannot wait to come back to Joanna's for breakfast or brunch again!
