I have a Corgi that will turn 11 in January. In October of 2023, he was diagnosed with AIHA. Then Oct of this year I learned that he has DM. When our old vet retired, we had to find a new one. 1 of the Dr's from our old clinic had recently moved over to the HSB Vet Clinic. We thought we were making a smart move my switching everyone over there since we were already familiar with her. That turned out to be the BIGGEST mistake! When I discovered something abnormal on my corgi's scrotum area, I took him in. She did not do any testing whatsoever, looked at it, had another Dr look at it, came back & told me that they believe it to be a form of cancer. She continued to tell me that due to his age & medical history, she didn't feel as though he would be a candidate for a biopsy because he probably wouldn't be able to pass the anesthesia & they didn't think they would be able to stop the bleeding. In short, she was basically telling me he should be put to sleep. Something in my gut didn't feel right. I decided to get a 2nd opinion. Made the appt with Dr. DeFiley, took ALL of his records. She was more optimistic. In all of his prior blood tests, his platelets were all in a normal range. So there shouldn't be an issue with clotting. She did the surgery & sent what was removed for testing. Turns out it was NOT cancer! This was such a relief! To think that the other vet made no effort at all to help my Flapjack & suggested he be put to sleep infuriates me! Needless to say, we are extremely happy with Dr. DeFiley & will doing all of our business with her at Bluebonnet! She's truly cares about the wellbeing of your fur babies. read more

I can't say enough great things about this clinic! First of all, its nice, large and clean. Right off the Hwy, looks to be house turned into clinic. 2nd of all, I found them out of necessity, needing an emergency call on a Sunday evening. I called multiple facilities, they were the first to call back. The vet was not only knowledgeable and experienced, but very nice. She met us there, and did a great job putting my daschund's ripped apart back, back together. (she tried to steal a toy from the wrong dog :-( ). The bill was more than reasonable!! And the follow up care was compassionate. I plan to bring our dogs and cats here from now on. Thank you so much!!! read more

Dr. Elizabeth DeFily is probably the most adept, compassionate veterinary doctor I have ever used. I moved to Lampasas 8 years ago, and just before moving, my little Shiz Tsu girl had an emergency. She took good care of her. I moved to Lampasas, and after running the course of the veterinarians there, I finally made up my mind to go back to her at Bluebonnet. Its a 30+ mile trip down and back, but her care for my little ones is worth the drive and effort. I know there are a lot of good veterinarians out there, but she and her clinic are right at the top in my opinion. read more

I have no complaints about the vets at this clinic however their front desk has some issues. A year ago I ask bluebonnet to forward my dogs records to another clinic well I found out they never did and I couldn't get heart guard for him. When I called them back and ask why they didn't send them she said we don't have their email! Did u not ask me or email records to me!! Not very friendly front desk, and apparently not concerned about my dogs records getting transferred! The reason I transferred was they couldn't get Lenny in for vaccinations before his expired!! Gave me the feeling they didn't want my business anymore!!! read more

I called the office today and asked for an appointment for my dog. They said the first one we have is on Friday. (three days away) . I told them that my dog needs immediate attention is there anyone they recommend. They said we are not affiliated with any other veterinarian. I said can you suggest one that I can take him to now. They said no. You can wait till friday and we can put him in. This has been my experience. read more

My wife and I were in town from Austin and our puppy jumped out of the car window n the way to the lake. Dr. Defily attended us directly and lent us excellent care. I cannot say enough good things about this place. Dr. DeFily and her staff are extremely competent, compassionate, and helpful, so much so that I continue to use them even though I have moved to Austin. I will second other reviews when I say they are the most competent veterinaeran staff I have ever used. On multiple occasions they have bent over backwards to help my dog Rio. For instance, a few weeks ago, my dog had what looked to be a ring worm on his ear. Dr. DeFily spoke with me at length on the phone about the issue and treatment and told me to call back if needed. Another time my dog was having stomach problems. They fit me right in and Dr. DeFily personally carried my dog back to the patient room to care for him with little to no wait time. The quality of care this staff provides my dog is the best I've experienced and I have found their prices to be extremely reasonable and fair. read more

The idiocy here is unbearable. If you call, prepare for a 20 minute wait while they out you on hold. if you have an appointment, prepare for that to also be 30 minutes late. there's no sense of urgency, and now, because of some scary seasonal flu, you can't go inside and instead have to wait in your car with whatever animal you have sitting in the back seat. for example, my last appointment was a 45 minute(after my appointment time) wait to bring my dog in for a shot. A single shot. get your act together. We'll be taking all three of our dogs elsewhere. Hope those calls we were on hold for was worth it. read more

Very disappointed with this business. I have adopted a 6 year old dog due to the previous owner passing away. I called to get copies of her shot records so we didn't repeat any of her required vaccinations. In order to receive these I will have to pay the previous owners outstanding bill. I live 8 hours away and have never even been to this business. I had no clue that when I decided to give this dog a forever home I became responsible for the someone else's bill. I was camping at Inks lake and my pets medication got left on the counter at home. They where very sweet and worked with my vet back home to get everyone sorted out. It was a lovely experience. I have been a resident of the Marble Falls area for over 20 yrs, I have also had numerous pets, and veterinarians, during this time. I am writing to let folks searching for a really great vet clinic learn from my mistakes of the past and trust in the folks at Bluebonnet Veterinary Clinic. I originally changed vets from the Highland Lakes Vet Clinic due to their lack of covid prevention standards..no masks...I was thrilled to discover the concern the folks at Bluebonnet Vet Clinic in Burnet have for their clients in offering curbside service.. Well to my delight that is just the beginning ! Dr. DeFily actually came out to the truck after examining my two rescue cats and spoke at length about their health, in the parking lot, we were amazed!! After meeting and speaking with her at length we are completely confident our pets will be receiving the very best care in the hill country with her at the Bluebonnet Vet Clinic ! I must also mention the kind lady that answers the phones, Carla, for she really works with us on appointments and is so considerate..we just couldn't be more pleased and want to let other folks that love their furry family members as we do know there is an excellent alternative in pet health care right down the road in Burnet!! Dr DeFily and her staff are simply the best and most caring. We have two older Dachshunds with issues, and every time I call, they say bring my pet in, and we'll get them in. Dr DeFily will call and give updates ( far past closing time). My female Dachshund had pancreatitis and was seen on a Sunday. Great Vet and staff!! read more

The best veterinary care you would want for your beloved fur baby. Dr Defily is a caring knowledgeable veterinary doctor. There's always a doctor on call 24/7/365. The staff is professional, kind and helpful. There's no where else I would take my 13 rescue dogs. They receive the best care. I used to live in Austin and I would say I feel my fur babies are treated like my beloved family members. The staff is always willing to accommodate your pets needs. My oldest dog is 19 years old and I credit Dr Defily with helping keep here at her best. I also have six cats. We have visited Bluebonnet Vet Clinic on several occassions & while Dr Defily is knowledable, the clinic just seems to be lacking in organization & customer service. The technicians never introduce themselves when greeting us, the front desk is very friendly but unorganized. Our pet needed a quick procedure done p & we were told we could go anytime without an appointment.....we waited nearly an hour & had to leave without being seen. Really disappointed because I want to love going here with our animals. read more

I have tried since 8 this morning trying to get someone to call me back. My dog is puking, not eating, and pooping very black. They advertise 24 hour service. Very hard to do that, when your machine is not working properly. Have left several messages with no response. Have also called Dr. DeFily on person phone, but you can't leave a message. Today was one of those hard days as a pet owner. It was time to put my old man down, he was suffering from bone cancer. Dr.Defily sat down with me and she went over all of our options. She was honest, caring and gave me time to come to peace with my decision. I made the request to put him to rest outside under a group of trees. Dr. Defily and her staff all helped me with this without any problems. They layed a thick blanket on the ground then gave him a sedative. The entire staff that was helping then walked away and let me tell my ten year old protector of our family goodbye. They have been amazing through the good times. There is NO OTHER PLACE I would ever consider taking my furbabies for their healthcare than bluebonnet. Dr. Schnell is amazing. She always puts the best interest of her patient first. Whether it be getting my baby through surgery last year with a full recovery or more recently having to make the decision that quality is more important than quantity with my geriatric crazy pup! She is direct, honest and compassionate in every interaction. My husband and I drive over an hour to go see Dr. Schnell because we will never accept second best when it comes to the care of our babies!! read more
