My dog and cat
Lindsey B.

This vet always takes the dogs' lives seriously. My dog was mysteriously stung and they took him for urgent care and mended him up. He's good now. Thank you for loving our pets.

Just wanted to say how amazing Dr. Martin, Mandy Fults, and the rest of the staff at Comanche trail veterinary center is! I came in at the end of the day with a wounded black lab I found along 183. They were so sweet to take such wonderful care of him and I can't thank them enough. Highly highly recommend them

Great care and affection for my dogs. I moved here recently and it was very seamless and easy for me to introduce my dogs to them.

Dr .Arlitt has been my equine vet since we moved to the area many years ago. She is not a warm,…read morecaring person in her affect and presentation. She does not give a lot of information and you have to go through Tiffany The Ice Queen, Dr. Arlitt's receptionist/front office who never fails to make you feel as if she'd rather be doing anything else besides giving you the bill. Dr. Arlitt, in my opinion, is a very mediocre veterinarian. she has NEVER been on time for an appointment, she is inconsiderate of her client's time constraints and the importance of being punctual, and she misses a lot of very important conditions; her mind is obviously somewhere else. She handles emergency situations with a disinterested attitude and compared to others, she tends to be a bit pricier. I don't hold it personality against her, but it makes me uncomfortable when I have to spend a few hours there to have to listen to her and her assistants/hands laugh at clients who aren't there or speak badly of them. Of course I have to wonder what they say about me when I'm not there - and they're not discreet, they don't know who knows who, and they don't seem to care. I have found a new veterinarian who I like very much and will be leaving Live Oak. They are not conveniently located, and there's no way to be comfortable there. There's obviously an "in" group and everybody else is out. I'm definitely on the out side. I also found out that Dr. Arlitt will not give prescriptions for medications. They are 20 miles away from me, but because they sell the medications (at grossly inflated prices), they won't provide prescriptions. I'll have to ask my new vet if he can come by and if I can get a prescription from him. Because of the prescription issue - and Tiffany's usual arrogant attitude, I had to drop my rating by one star. In my opinion, the negatives outweigh the benefits and I'm always uncomfortable when I'm over there. I don't plan on being there again. 12/01/11 - Update Well, just when I thought I'd done about as fair as I could, my new vet came out last week and was appalled. It seems one of the horses was suffering from a rotting tooth (I couldn't smell it but those that could were pretty grossed out) for some time and this isn't something that should have been missed by a vet who sees the horse on a fairly regular basis. How do you miss a rotted out tooth that causes so much pain and discomfort when you're a vet who looks in the horse's mouth fairly frequently?? So I had to take Live Oak down to just one star based on how much they missed. Oh, also the horse I bought from one of Arlitt's ex assistants, who said she was around ten (10) when we bought her, ended up being older than my senior gelding. I thought she was about 17, she's closer to 25. Ouch! How do you miss that?

She made late night house calls for colic and a late night clinic call when I brought in a friend's horse with choke. Dr. Arlitt and her staff are no-nonsense type of people and I really appreciate that.

I am extremely disappointed with our experience…read more Our dog is a very anxious dog, but she has never shown aggression toward people or other animals in our care. After boarding her this time (we've been customers there for years), we were told she displayed behaviors such as growling and was no longer welcome to return. What I find most concerning is that this facility also promotes dog training services, yet there was no effort to discuss what may have triggered her behavior, offer recommendations, suggest training options, or work with us on a plan for future success. Instead, we were simply told not to bring her back. I fully understand that any boarding facility has the right to make decisions based on safety concerns. However, anxious and fearful behaviors are not uncommon in boarding environments, and I expected a business that offers training services to have a more knowledgeable and supportive approach. As pet owners, we trust boarding facilities to care for our dogs during what can already be a stressful experience. Rather than feeling supported, we left feeling judged and dismissed. If your dog struggles with anxiety or fear in unfamiliar situations, I would encourage you to ask detailed questions about how those behaviors are assessed and managed before booking. We'll gladly be taking our business elsewhere and won't be back with our current dog or any future dogs.

We got an appointment with Dr. Pruitt for Friday, June 13 at 3 pm. Since we were new, we were told the appointment was going to be an hour long. We arrived 10 minutes early and checked in. Got called into the room around 3 pm. Intake took 10 minutes. We waited another 20 minutes until an MA checked in on us to tell us that there was an emergency and it wouldn't be long until Dr. Pruitt came. Waited another 10 minutes (be mindful that it was 3:41 pm already); Dr. Pruitt came in at 3:43 pm. We finished at 4 pm, waited for our paperwork, and paid at 4:06 pm. The whole appointment, besides the waiting portion, took a good 20-30 minutes, so I don't understand why the appointment was supposed to be 1 hour long. Honestly, not much to say... other than the fact that we should not have been waiting that long at all! It was a waste of time and if I knew we were going to be waiting that long, I would've rescheduled or gone somewhere else. Pricing- $94 for annual bird check up $36.60 for nail trimmings $41 for bird fecal $114 for gram staining, which we will do once we get results from bird fecal test. Our total came out to be $174... Overall, if we didn't wait that long, I would've given 4-5 stars, but because it was also our first visit, it honestly could've gone a lot better. Obviously emergencies happen, but it could've been brought to our attention that the waiting period may be a bit longer.

No one ever wants the phone call telling them that their dog is dying. My sweet boy, Diesel, was diagnosed with prostate cancer, and hearing that there was nothing more we could do was one of the hardest moments of my life. Even in that heartbreaking conversation, Dr. Mitchell met me with incredible compassion. When I asked if I could bring Diesel home for one last night together before saying goodbye the next morning, he understood how important that time was to me. I'll always be thankful for that grace. Losing a pet is devastating. You know they'll never live forever, but nothing truly prepares you for the day you have to let them go. Throughout the entire process, I never felt alone. Dr. Mitchell, Dr. Morehead, and the entire team treated Diesel with dignity, kindness, and genuine love. They answered every question, never rushed me, and helped me make the hardest decision I've ever had to make. What stands out most about this clinic is that they care. They celebrate the good days with you, and they walk through the hardest days with you too. You can tell they became veterinarians because they love animals and the people who love them. They are thorough, knowledgeable, honest, and incredibly compassionate. Diesel was my best friend. We navigated my twenties together, and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't miss him. Knowing he was cared for by people who loved him too brings me an incredible amount of peace. On a lighter note, I also love their rewards program. While I'm not ready for another dog anytime soon, it makes me smile knowing those points will be there if that day ever comes. If you're looking for a veterinary clinic that will care for your pet as if they were their own, whether it's for a routine visit or the hardest day you'll ever face, I cannot recommend Leander Vet Clinic enough. Thank you for loving Diesel so well and for giving me the confidence that I did everything I could for my boy. That gift is something I'll carry with me forever.
