The dealership indicated that the initial diagnosis was incorrect. This raises a concern: if we had proceeded with the $1,700 repair, would the shop have discovered that the PCV manifold was not the true issue, corrected the spark plugs instead, and still charged us for the full PCV replacement? Or would they have acknowledged the misdiagnosis and adjusted the cost accordingly to reflect only the necessary repair? Because this type of correction could be made internally without the customer's knowledge, it creates uncertainty about whether the quoted repair and cost were truly justified.
