Secretly having not yet met or been to the clinic, I thought my friends were excessively complimentary. However, I would soon be forever grateful that they had possibly underestimated her skills. We had only been patients a year or so (maybe only had had a visit or two) when on a Sunday afternoon my almost 13 year old west highland terrier had his intestines ripped from his body when he was viciously attacked by a neighbor's dog. I called the clinic with our emergency, and within 15 minutes she had returned the call and I was at the clinic. His insides being out - the significant injuries, my dog should not have lived that day. He is only here now because of her skills and devotion and the dedication of her staff to their patients. He is famous at the clinic now as the dog who lived. I love every extra day I have with my dog, and this clinic is the reason I have them. They deserve all the stars! P.S. They are also good with the ordinary stuff. I appreciate their transparency in care and their loving but down-to-earth approach.

She has a way with animals, they gravitate to her and I say that because I have a 140lb Guardian Livestock Dog and he is not the friendliest to people he doesn't know, and most definitely would never let anyone in the goat enclosure but Renee has some sort of magical energy because he absolutely loves her and she is the only person that has ever been able to go in with the goats, and that in itself says a lot. What I loved is that she has worked in animal rescue and still does, and being that I run an animal rescue, I knew she would be the perfect fit. Because of her, I can go on vacation with complete peace of mind and truly enjoy myself, knowing my animals are being cared for with the same love and attention I would give them myself. I refused to believe there was no one else!! Lexington?! Really?!? So in a panic I started calling vets to see if I could get referrals for a vet that does orthopedic surgery and I got several diff referrals and was waiting for callbacks when I called the Animal Care Clinic in Lexington. Lori answered the phone right away and was so kind and helped calm me down then she said "let me call the Dr and I will call you right back." I sent her images for Bailey's leg and figured it would be awhile but within 5 min she called me back and said "the Dr said come in the morning and he will take a look and that he thought he could help her." I literally cried! The next morning I walked into the office. I was amazed!!! There wasn't room full of people and their pets in an overcrowded waiting room. It was like walking into a very nice hospital! It was decorated so nicely! It was clean and organized! I immediately was greeted by Ms. Christina at reception and she took me straight to a room. Lori came in and then Dr. Schroyer. He examined Bailey and sat down and explained her injury, how he would repair it, recovery time etc. I was worried it was going to be a fortune but he was so much more affordable! It made it possible for us to afford it. The surgery went great. We went home and the office would call periodically to check on her progress between follow-up visits. Animal Care Clinic was the ABSOLUTE BEST clinic I have ever been to!! Working with rescues I have seen quite a few clinics so I can say with confidence you will not be disappointed with Animal Care Clinic!!! We stop by just to say hi when we're are in Lex!! She runs in so excited to see everyone!!! I figured she would be afraid to go in but even today she gets so excited!!! A dog being happy to go to the vet's office after surgery?!??! Owners and management, if you're reading this, you have an immature young lady managing your front office who treat your customers like a high school nemesis. She has one or more cohorts who back up her sadistic behavior. I know you have good people working there, so I strongly urge you to address that issue.
